I'll leave tomorrow afternoon with Sarah and her husband Aaron to do the Ouachita Challenge.
I will be doing support for them as they do the 60 mile tour on Saturday. On Sunday they will support me in the race. The race for me is more about finishing than really competing. It will be cool since the actual Gary Fisher will be taking part in the race. (For those of you that don't know, I ride a 6 year old, beat up Gary Fisher tasajara.) I hope I get a chance to meet him before he leaves me wimpering at the side of the trail.

I'll put my 2 cents in while Joe is hopefully catching up on work and sleep, not at the same time though.
He straggled in about 8 last night with helmet head and looking spent but otherwise pretty happy. He had a fight with a rock and had to push it out of his way with a shoulder but I think the rock got the worst of it. He tells me he had to talk sweet to his bike (the duracell bike, it just keeps going and going....) He stopped to help and injured rider and joke with a couple of volunteers on the way and tell them thanks for being there and missed the last cutoff by 6 minutes. Considering the difficulty of the ride and his wife keeping him too busy to train properly, I'm very proud of his accomplishment. 50 something very tough miles and he stayed on the bike all the way up Blowout Mtn...GO JOE

Man did it feel good when I stopped beating my head with the hammer. I'm pretty trashed. I'll put a report together in a couple of days. I would really like to thank Sarah & Aaron for support. It worked out well with me running support for them on the tour the day before and then they took care of me on the race the next day. Sarah did a great job of filling in Lisa's (ODBsgirl) position of yelling at me for not drinking enough and Aaron took care of a tire issue on the bike. They rock!!!
Thanks Lisa for letting me pursue this insanity. We will find time to ride more together this summer.
Oh yeah, the rock won. Damn my shoulder hurts!

Lisa wasn't able to go. The 9 year old had a softball tournament which they won. I think that is three this year with only one lose on the season. GO MUSTANGS!

I was at home in LR doing another kind of support...watching my daughter play softball, helping keep 12 little girls hydrated and sunscreened. They just won their 3rd tournament in a row! My guys are all winners this weekend. I'm up for a training ride with ODB and the KDB anytime but given the choice of killing myself on a trail or watching my girl play...I'm a much better mom/wife/cheerleader/support crew than I am a rider. I'll be in the mix some and I'll be sure to post it when I am. Thanks Fish
