IMBA is here in Louisville this Weekend. I just sit through a presentation by one of IMBA’s trail care crews. They were talking about and showing slides of different trails in different parts of the country. When they came to the Arkansas slide they said that a trip to Arkansas is a must. They said that the trails in Arkansas are the best in the country east of the Rockies. I thought that was pretty impressive coming from these people since they travel the country looking and working on trails.

I thought you all would find this interesting. Since they are in Kentucky they are not just saying this to earn brownie points. You guys from Arkansas should be proud and make sure you enjoy those trails.

Speaking of which, I am going riding tomorrow on one of our best-known trails... Camp Robinson. Great place to ride!

I'm doing a road ride today but I'm getting ready for the Ouachita Challenge (60 mile mtb race) on the Womble trail which is one of the best in the country. Yeah, Arkansas rocks for outdoor stuff!

First time I've been to Camp since they put in all those new runways... What a sad site. My favorite, the Birm Trail, was devastated; cut up into little mounds with sparse and dead trees all around. Plus it appears they took out all the easy trails which were good for instructing newbs and warming up. What a total bummer. On a good note, Zig Zag and 5-Mile were quite fun and it was a beautiful day!

I saw your post on the OCC 05' bulletin board. Did you get a tour slot?

Maybe we will run into you out there.

No, not yet. I'm doing the race. My wife wanted to do the tour and I was looking for her. Some friends of ours are doing the tour and she was going to do it with them.
