Took the bike back out on the trails today for the first time since the accident back in october which is described here.

Before today I had been riding the bike on the road for the last 3 weeks.

I didn't think I would be intimidated by the trails but once I got the bike out of the truck and started riding on the dirt I defiantly felt a little fear. I guess after the first accident that should be expected considering the injuries I sustained in the accident. Any how I took it very slow this time, I avoided a lot of the obstacles by walking the bike over them. I walked a lot with the bike. On obstacles that I felt like I could do I road over them repeatedly to get more conformable traversing rough terrain/obstacles. The weather should be good here tomorrow, I plan on taking another ride then.

Congrats on getting back on the trail! After reading about your accident I understand your fear. Just keep working at it and you'll be back in form in no time!

Ride today went great, I stayed on the bike a lot more, did some small climbs, road over some roots and nearly wiped out coming down a hill that had a curve at the bottom, but I didn't, I kept the bike under almost complete control which was huge for my confidence. I didn't have the death grip on the handle bars that had yesterday.

I also managed to help the Kentucky Mountain Bike Association complete some trail work. I actually have been doing this for several weeks now. I now know what a bench cut is and the labor involved in cutting a trail on the side of a hill.

Thanks for the support.
