It's the middle of winter with 14" of snow on the ground and the streets are covered with slush and salt. Two or three times a week, I'm stuck in a too-hot room spinning my legs as a simulation of real riding. I AM posting about that in my training thread in the Training subforum. Read yesterday's log entry about doing LA's 'Stomps'.
JP, I'll make an exception for you. Come on up here, and I'll ride with you [rubbing my hands in anticipation that JP won't have the proper 'very cold' riding gear and also won't want to damage his $4K+ mtb with corrosive road salt]. When you show up, you can shack up here at my house and I'll even take you out for Chicago deep-dish pizza!
Hey K, I got the gear. A few screws in old tires and I'll ride on the ice. My old bike gets submerged several times a year in races. We can hang! Loser buys the deep dish!

K,
I may be up in Naperville next month for Gov's Council business. If I go I may ship my bike up and spend the weekend up there so I can ride with you. I can suffer if you can. I may need to borrow some of your cold weather gear though, as none of mine is designed to survive sub-zero weather.

JP: really?! Screw the bike, let's go climbing! You can see just how bad I am at it. Let me know for sure please. I expect some serious time with you - or even staying at our place (if you can - Naperville is around an hour away from where we are).
As soon as I get confirmation that we're going I will call you. I am trying to get my group together for some time in Feb, but it all depends on my wellness contracts I have going in other states.
