Who's getting mileage in this month? We should post it even if it's stationary, trainer or rollers. We are fortunate enough that on some days, if we bundle up enough, we can get out and ride. I did almost 30 miles on Sunday with Sarah and her husband, Aaron, it was cold.

Are you kidding? The temp hasn't gone above 15 degrees in the last 7 days here! I have seen a few bikers out, and I love biking, but it is absolutely insane and dangerous to be riding when the windchills are in the negative.

I've been in spinning classes two or three times a week now since mid-November. Don't know mileage, but each class is close to an hour and we are doing a lot of intervals, so figure 15-20 miles equivalent. Not great for endurance base, but it does keep the rust off and help the power a bit when spring comes around.

Cold weather is just an excuse to buy more gear.

I was looking at the bikeforums site. Three words: studded bike tires.

I have the gear to ride in the snow, certainly on my mtb. BUT, I baby my bikes too much to take them out on the salt covered roads. That salt dust gets everywhere and into everything, eating away, and the temp means that you can't hose it off. Since I don't have a beater bike....I stay in.

Rolling baby....bundle up and hop on! Spinning when it gets too cold (less than 35...).

I have been doing the trainer thing, I received a trainer for Christmas. I have been amazed at how my cardio health declined while I was on the crutches. I only lasted 3 minutes on the trainer when I first started, now I am up to 15 minutes twice a day. I have the resistance set at the max.

I really don't have the proper gear to ride in the cold. I have been surprised about how expensive bikeing gear is. I'm not sure my foot is ready for off road riding just yet any how. I plan on going for a ride on an asphalt trail that is close to my house once the weather warms up to the 50's.

It'll probably be another couple of months before I get back on the road. It was -25C yesterday; today is a relatively balmy -5C.

In the meantime, I'm doing the spinning thing 2 or 3 times a week. It still amazes me that the "muscle recruitment" phases hurt so much.
