I'm looking at getting into road biking as opposed to just mountain biking. My question is do any of you know where I could begin to search for a used road bike (ie-good shops, websites, etc.). I don't think I really need a $2000 bike to start with, just something to get me going. Thanks for your feedback!

Oh, it's amazing! I don't take living here for granted at all, that's why I'm trying to figure out a new way to see this place. Where does your son go to school? I just graduated from CU-Boulder in May, and got lucky and found a job to keep me local. Thanks for the feedback!

You can get a decent new bike for about half that. www.bicycling.com has a discussion forum there for buying as well. Got to your local bike store (lbs) and ask around. The most important thing is FIT, so ride a LOT of bikes!
Yeah, that's what I've been told. Make sure it's comfortable more than anything.

He goes to the Art Institute in downtown Denver. He rides a BMX bike or a skateboard. Or in the winter he bascially lives on Copper on the snowboard when not in class.
Great, thanks for all the feedback! Copper is a great place for the winter, awesome snow. You should get out here and hit the slopes this winter, it's gunna be a really good winter...

It really depends on what you are using it for. If its for fun and rec. no I woouldn't spend 2000 on a bike. Although, if you plan on racing or resell the bike make sure you get at lest 105 bike.
I just picked up this hobby by the way and I love it.
