Default Bike Trainer - Roller

I'm looking at getting a bike trainer so I can train a bit in the off season. I just found that they have ones that are rollers and several commentors mentioned the rolling trainers were more fun. Anyone have any experience with them? I won't be spending more than $200 on this. Here is one I found.

I used to have rollers (maybe late 80s?). We set them up in a doorway so that when you fell over sideways you at least just shouldered the doorway instead of going splat.

Have.
Have not used.
Plan to.
But been planning to for a couple years now.
Cheap enough that I certainly don't mind that I never use em.
Give a try at your shop and see?

Rollers have a learning curve before you can effectively use them. A regular trainer is useful from day 1. The nice thing about rollers is that you will learn to have a nice smooth pedal stroke as a result. Using a door frame to get started is a great method.

With either method it is critical to make sure you have something to keep your mind entertained as it is about the most boring thing one can do.
