Default Windy Ride!

Hey Guys!

Well they dont call this the Windy City for nothing...and it proved itself yesterday!

I am training for the Lake Tahoe Century this June 7th and many people ask how people in Illinois can get any real training for the mountains in Tahoe..in flat Illinois.

Well, one of the answers is we do travel to areas that have great hill climbing regions such as Madison, WI Utica, IL, etc.

But the main thing we have "going" for us is the WIND! And yesterday we rode 65 miles in winds that started at 30 mph with a constant 18 mph throughout the ride! Felt like we were climbing all day long! The only good part of it was the tail wind on the trek home!

Anyone have any real data/ideas on how to relate wind speed into incline training? All I have to judge this is how my knees feel this AM!!

Thanks!
