Welcome to the forums!

That race sounds like a blast. I am a roadie but there are quite a few off-roaders here. Unfortunately I am waiting for spring so I am hitting the weights pretty good and thinking warm thoughts!

I just picked up a Cannondale tandem mountain bike so the wife and I can have more fun riding together. That should be a real blast this year!

it went just about as expected. I got 19th place overall 4th in my category. There were about 60 racers...from solo experts, sport & base, and there were expert, sport, and base teams as well. U know they say south florida doesnt have mountains and all that blah, blah, blah.....Ive ridden in the carolinas, georgia, tennesee, and none of them are as rough on the body as as south florida....theres just so much rock, and roots...so the trails dont flow as much....I started cramping my last lap, but i made it through...its always a blast....i love this sport!!!!!
so this weekend up to gainseville, florida to hailes trail....for my first sport race!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats on finishing let alone 19th / 4th in category.

I am jealous...really love to ride off road (Not much time these days). 62.1 miles is a long (Off Road) ride let alone race.

What do you mean by category? (Base or sport?)

What type of bike do you ride?

Thanx!!!!!
the category is ur level.
like base riders at least in cross country racing do 2 laps
sport riders do 3
expert do 4
pro do 5

really has nothing to do in endurance, but even in endurance he pros should finish the fastest, followed by experts, sport, base.

I have a specialized stumpjumper 07. i love that thing. i want a new bike allready, but im going to have to wait ill next year.

At first I thought.. hey , 100K is nothing, those would be the distances of the first rides of the year and then did a fast turnaround reading it was off-road. Completely changes things.
Hats off to you & congrats on a decent finish from a smooth-tarmac gal
