Default Lance at Leadville

Came across this site that shows the battle up front at the Leadville race. That terrain is just crazy, then again I am a roadie.

Great video. I'm guessing that if those two guys had to walk up that stretch I would have needed a tow rope to get up it.

That was a tough climb- the summit was at 13,600 feet and the air was really thin. Everyone pushed the last mile or so, but the rest of the climb wasn't terrible. Overall, it was 9 miles at about a 5% average until the last couple of miles. Totally rideable in any other situation, but it was COLD up there and the air was really thin.

It was cool seeing the 2 of them coming through all the aid staions and crowds. They both looked totally relaxed and almost happy.
