Default lifting?

So, we're not lifters or "gym rats" but we should be getting some kind of impact for bone density. So, what do you prefer? I'm thinking of starting some circuit training since lifting heavy is out of the question because I still have to pamper the shoulder. I could totally use the raised metabolism and power that lifting brings though.

Some band-resisted exercises would probably be pretty helpful. They are a great way to train. They are helpful with injured parts because they "progressively load" and they also start improving your reactive strength as well as challenging your stamina.

I've had multiple shoulder surgeries and this is one way to help my train without injuring myself.

It's also great for cyclists. Some of the stretches you can do with bands really help with the areas you tighten up from lots of riding (hip flexors, deep hip flexors, and lateral compartment of the hammies).

Meh. I don't even like to lift my bike when I have to put it on the car. Bone density be damned!!

I second the band idea that JP offered up.

If not that, how about some bodyweight stuff as you can tolerate? At least you should be working the hammies in the 'off-season' (is there such a thing in AR?) to prevent imbalances. And stave off osteoporosis.
