Too bad you can get state and federal highway funds to build the thing for cars but you have to have a charity ride for a cyclist path. (I'm sure someone is looking at transportation grants). Could you imagine a bike path being built and then a charity car ride down the path to raise funds for a road?
We will never solve the energy use issues of this country this way. Our priorities are screwed. Looks like a fun ride though and I would do it if I lived there.

Be careful K, you know once the cyclists have all started they will release the 18 wheelers. They have to do something about all those spandex wearing, Lance wanna-be's out there getting in the way of real transportation.
This will be like the running of the bulls!

I agree our transportation priorities are way out of whack.
But if I were anywhere within a few hundred miles of Chicago I'd be on that ride.
