Default Suteki 12

The guy dropped the bike off this afternoon.

It is a Suteki brand bicycle. Little bit of looking around looks like is was a sears brand bike and sold for around $200-$400 in the early 80s.

Steel frame as I suspected, "Tough Lite Steel".

The tires came with it, but they look a little worse for wear. Probably just pick up a couple of new cheapy ones. No tubes either. The front wheel looks fairly true, I haven't looked at the back one yet.

Chain is there but a little rusty. Probably need to replace that too, but not as high priority as some things.

Back break pads are wrecked I will need to replace them.

Frame..sizing is best described with a picture..

Wheels are 27 x 1 1/4"

Few cosmetic problems here and there. But not in that bad shape, especially for the low low entry price of $0.

I'll get more info as I progress.

Og.

Heck yes man. This is going to be like Pimp My Ride, except with a bike. Nice.

Frame weighs like 20lbs.

Iwas just messing around with the shifter and they seem to work, as do the brakes. I think it will be a little small, but not overly so. Not a perfect fit, but rideable.

Looks like I can get a bunch of cheap parts for maybe $20 or so to get it operational and take it for spin.

Take pictures all along the way. We need to see the build on the beast!

Haven't started much more than the preliminary research as this is all pretty new to me. I will try and collect a list of my sources for this project since I am a TOTAL newbie when it comes to this. I will probably track it on the blog and maybe on here as well. When I am done I will try and remeber to present my collection in a more unified structure.
