Default What I like most about riding in summer...

is the popping sound of the asphalt bubbles under the chip seal.

edit: and the 15'x3' pool I let the kids talk me into.

Those little circular sunburns you get on the backs of your hands from your gloves.

Rest day rides down to the lakefront and back.

Barely hanging on the back of a 30 mph paceline - and the look you get from cars as you fly by.

The feeling of accomplishment having burned 2000+ kcals before most people wake up on the weekend.

Watching my young boys race at the velodrome and come in last or second to last and that they are still overjoyed about being there. Even better: that even at this young age, they consider themselves in the fraternity of riders.

The very little time I get on a track bike (there are bikes, and then there are Formula1 machines - track bikes are Formula1 turbocharged machines).

My gloves don't leave little circles.

But my hair is cut really short, and I think I have some weird shaped sunburn spots on my head from my Pneumo. :p

The hot girls that ride by in lycra.

Sweating my ass off. Better than freezing it off.

My tan lines, my GF HATES them!!

A cold beer on the porch after a really really long ride.

Getting completely soaked with sweat climbing only to get cooled off cruising down making big turns.
