Was riding some trails today, and stipped out the stem and bar. And, of course, I was as far away from the car as I could possibly be, and didn't have tools on me. Anyway, I'm looking for both parts, and would like to spend less than $50 bucks total. Not looking for anything fancy, or the newest, lightest bar, just something decent. Thanks for the help.
If you look at performancebike.com or bikenashbar.com you can easily find bars and stems well within your spending limit. Depending where you are there might even be Performance store near by.
You can also find deals at your Local bike shop (LBS) and it's a good idea to get to know them. They'll help you a great deal, if they're worth their salt....
I second fishes comments (not his choice in apes though). Sometimes a LBS will have bars and stems that are new and off bikes that people have customized when they buy them. I got a sweet deal on a new front d for ODBSGIRL's bike that way.
Thanks for inquiring Fish-I've been a little busy and actually only today came lurking and saw your post. Honestly I just don't have the time these days to keep up with what's on my plate already but I'll check in sometimes. published
Thanks TG-not the first, certainly not the longest article I've had, but I really have a deep respect for the journal that published this work for us and I am honored Now if I can spin this work into something actually physiologically relevant I will be even happier. Now, back to bike bars and stems-I know NOTHING about that. I have whatever Silly or ODB picked out for me.
