I just came very close to barfing my Kashi all over my new computer.
"My education in journalism ethics" sounds like she was a serious scholar writing a dissertation.
She took six years, and earned credits at five different colleges, before she got her bachelor's degree in communications from a school that isn't generally acknowledged for the excellence of its journalism program.
"Journalistic ethics" comes down to this: You're either fair to your subject, or you aren't. You either get your facts right, or you don't. "Fair" means you give the subject of a story a chance to respond. Accuracy is self-explanatory.
How could Couric have not been fair, when she asked her straightforward questions, face to face? And what facts did Couric misrepresent?
"What newspapers do you read?" Palin couldn't answer.
"How do you reconcile the push for democracy and the fact people don't always elect people we like, including Hamas in Gaza?" Palin didn't seem to know what Hamas is.
"How is John McCain a champion of regulation when there's no congressional record indicating as much?" "I'll dig 'em up and send 'em to ya."
Journalistic ethics aren't the problem here.
Lou you know Couric is just another left wing LIBERAL that was just out to get Palin in her interview! Those questions were just made to set Palin up!!!

Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.
Word leaking from the Palin camp today is that she's gonna kick ass in the swimsuit portion of the debate. Biden is concerned and McCain announced he'll be front and center to observe.

Based on the unparalleled ability of Democrats to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, I'm not confident enough to make any predications tonight. But I'll certainly be watching.
Anybody wanna have a real-time thread going tonight as the debate airs?

I'd love to but will be kicking someone's butt in the gym while cracking Palin jokes.

I'm expecting that it's not going to live up to the hype, not even remotely close. I'm going to watch for as long as I can stand it, though.
