OFFICIAL WOMEN'S 2009 FALL CHALLENGE - MONTH 3 PICS
OK, expecting updates from the following challengers. PIC's and STATS are due Monday, November 2 by midnight (board time). Please include your starting pics and stats and your current pics and stats. This would be September's and November's.
I have definitely made some good progress and I can really see a difference in my upper body and core area as well as my back. My plan is to continue running 3x a week, continue circuit weight training 3x a week and do kickboxing or step aerobics twice a week. I also plan to keep my food journal, keep finding new ways to incorporate more produce into my diet and get plenty of rest.
It feels like this month hasn't been good but I think it's really only been the 2nd half that's been poor. I finished NROLFW this month and I slacked off a bit after that. Stage 7 worked well for me, in terms of weight loss. I'm starting NROL Fat Loss II tomorrow so I hope that works just as well.
Sept-Nov pics and stats (I didn't realise I looked so ghostly in the starting pics! )
Sept Nov
Height: 5'3"
Weight: 122lbs 119.2lbs (-2.8lbs)

Over bust: 32.5" 32.5"
R. arm: 10.75" 10.5" (-0.25")
L. arm: 11" 10.5" (0.5")
Waist: 26" 25.25" (-0.75")
Over navel: 30.57" 30" (0.57")
Hips: 35.5" 34.5" (-1")

R. calf: 13.8" 13.25" (-0.55")
L. calf: 13.8" 13.25" (-0.55")
Still too early to see many changes. I think the change in the thigh is due to measuring in a slightly different location. Thighs are tricky. Since June 1 I've lost a lot of inches, and a total of just under 29 lbs. That's super cool.
Here are the Month 3 Stats. Not as good as I would have liked, but definitely better than nothing.

I hope to see better results next month. I have a trial-run going with a personal fitness instructor. Actually, my mom and I have an appointment with a fitness instructor. I am hoping the extra support will do us both good.
Very pleased with inches lost each month.
I'm surprised that my scale fat loss is so low for the past 4 weeks. It is great to take this monthly review, since it tells me to look at my spreadsheets and see if my deficit is lower... sure enough!!!
My deficit average/day for the
A. SEPT (26 days) was 803cal/day;
B. OCT (29 days) was 576cal/day;
227 cal deficit less per day average
6583 cal less total deficit or about 2 lbs.
So this is really helpful to see.
This is 8 weeks, but I am not taking a diet break now. I will take a diet break possibly the week of Thanksgiving, but I am not sure now how I will structure it, because I am starting a 6-week challenge with BodyByEats/Leigh Peele on Nov 9. So the diet break is postponed and not defined.
Plan: Sep-Oct
YES-YES 1. FOOD: cal: 1000 x 5 days, 2000 x 2 days; also Phentermine
YES-NO 2. Deficit > 750cal/day
YES-YES 3. Log & fitday.com daily
CHANGED 4. 1 week diet break of 1700-2000 cal
12/22-1/4 Possible 2 week diet break
Activity:
Sep-Oct
NO-NO a. 4 day/week walking 60+ minutes, yoga, etc.
NO-NO b. really establish the habit of Recovery and Foam Roller
NO-NO c. increase NEAT (get off the couch & computer)
Goals
Hope to lose > 10 pounds in next 17 weeks to 158.2 (.59 lb/wk)
Love to lose < 17 pounds in 17 weeks to 151.2 (1 lb/wk)
Goal - 9" total
~Overall it was a really successful month for me. I know that weight loss number doesn't seem dramatic but it is the most weight I have lost in a month since I started (even before the challenge)
~My clothing size is changing quite a bit as well. I started in 12's and now all my 10's fit me.
~As far as the thigh measurement going up, the only thing I can figure is that I have replaced a lot of my exercise with my '60 min walks around the compound'. The compound is very hilly and steep and these walks are actually fairly intense. Along with the leg exercises I am doing, I have probably been working out my legs more than I realize.
~Call it wishful thinking, but I am starting to see some difference in these monthly pics and that is exciting to me. I still can't stand the profile ones though. I almost hate them as a matter of fact. But there is a teeny bit of definition starting to poke through.

Very much a static month. In fact, I haven't been drinking enough water and I think it shows. Even though the numbers are the same, I see less muscle definition this month and more visible fat in thighs.
I have to work harder!!!
DH was laid off this month, so I was an absolute nutcase when it came to pretty much everything. I should have used exercise to combat my angst, anger, and depression, but instead I turned to my old friends, JUNK FOOD and SLOTH! I made more excuses than I did progress...And this is Aunt Flo's week, so I'm blaming her for the belly bloat. Phhht.
November is a new month, and I need to get back into my groove so I can eat whatever I want Thanksgiving Day (Oh, and I'm running a 10k that day, so that'll help).
Anyway, here's the stats and pix, as sorry as they are...
September November
height: 5' 5" 5'5''
weight: 146 lbs 147.2 lbs
waist: 28.5" 28.5''
hips: 37.5" 37.5''
right thigh:23" 22.75''
right arm: 12.5'' 12.5''
I don't think this is a real gain. I. am. so. bloated. I was hovering around 145 lbs last week and then I started my period and had a sodium-and-carb feast. I have already lost one pound today. I feel like I am deflating. Ugh.
September is on left, November is on right. There is some weird shadow thing going on in the new pictures, so next time I'll be mindful of that. Oh, and next time maybe I will have some actual weight loss too.
Up a bit on the scale - after some really heavy carb days. Not a great month. Still can't seem to get on track. Continued to cycle quite a bit, but that is coming to an end. Need to really do some soul searching and re-connect with my goals. Can't seem to re-find my motivation. Know some of the reasons why, need to work through. Kinda hoping Leigh's transformation challenge on Body by Eats will spur that along a bit. For November my plan is to get back in a regular 3 times a week workout routine and back to planning meals. On a positive note after 3 months at basically the same weight, I can do the maintenance thing.

I'm in the static month as well, but I am learning a lot about myself and my habits on this journey so all is well. I haven't really given this challenge my all as of yet, but I plan to stick it out and see where the next two months find me. I think I should have more concrete goals to help me push a little harder so look for my goals for this month in my journal.

Not much change from the previous month, but I didn't expect much given the crazy month I had. Gonna get that diet down between now and Thanksgiving.....

I look worse this month. Most of it is water bloat - drank a couple of gallons during the day and pictures taken at night. I do not look very relaxed in latest photos. I look off-kilter. Look how my shoulders are tilted in the back photo. I think some of it is because my right knee is bothering me a lot and I am not dealing with it well. I lost .5 inches off my waist this month (and it looks like it got added on my hip measurement), my boobs have shrunk a bit and there is less fat on my thighs. All in all I feel positive if I can only chill out from exercise enough to let my knee heal.

Here I am, skidding in under the wire. Ridiculously busy, wedding yesterday, etc....
Not much progress. With two back-to-back illnesses, I'm glad I didn't go backwards. Not much training, lost .5 lb.
My pics were last minute...dd took them. Disappointed to use different bathing suit, I'll do better next month.
Stats: the same. I'll post the details in my log tomorrow. Measurements same, weight, down .5 lb.
Copied from wrong thread (oops), but within the time....

The photos go backwards in time (Nov, Oct, Sept). The body is about the same: today's weight is 116.4. Measurements will be proffered tomorrow, so as to slip these photos in before the clock strikes 1 and all is for nought.
Same garments, Nov and Oct were taken in same room, unfortunately the evening light was unforgiving for clarity . . .
