Default My Body Is My Temple

I have decided to carry on my log from flzine.com (there my name was Xwave). I figured I would get more support since more people seem to be doing some form of OPT here. I started OPT remix in the beginning of May and then the last two weeks have been off since I had to fly back to Korea (from Van, BC) for a funeral. Tomorrow is when it begins again.

Background briefly:
29 years old, married almost 4 years, female. I had a more running focused log here but I stopped that when I realized I wanted to shed some fat before getting back into it.
I was anorexic from 2003-2005. Honestly, those were years that were hard, I've worked through my issues and I am proud of where I am today. I've ran two half-marathons and with the gorgeous weather, I cycle and play tennis. Love being outside. I have done everything from eating whatever I want in moderation, bodybuilding style 6 meals a day, PSMF. Leigh seemed like a really well-educated, no BS type of person so that's why I bought FLTS and I love stuff on nutrition and fitness.
I'm doing OPT Remix to lose 5-10lbs, I want to lean out the midsection especially.

Stats:
29
5'4"
124lbs
Waist: 27.5"
Hips (at hip bone): 33.5" See, I'm more apple than pear.
Chest under boobs: 29"
R. thigh: 21"

I don't expect huge scale movement. As long as I see difference in body composition and hopefully smaller measurements, I'm happy. Adherence won't be a problem...except for good wine. But on the other hand, I can't whine about results if I indulge.

Goals:
1) Adhere to the plan, the first week back at it will be toughest.
2) Stretch/foam roll a lot.

*Waves* good to see you've made the jump! Looks like everyone has been ana at some point.. are you cured completely or do you still have a bit of the mindset? It's been *calculates* 17 years ago for me and it feels like nothing more than a distant memory, like a movie.

That's a tough question. In a lot of ways, it is like a distant memory and I know I would never go to those extremes. Yet, there are some food aversions that I still have but those might be just from eating healthy. The other thing too, which in hindsight is a blessing, is that I never binged when recovering nor have I ever. I'm sure at least 1 out of 2 girls have had some kind of disordered eating pattern.

06/15
Worked out at 5:45am....too early!
Weight: 128 (weighed post w/o with lots of fluids in me and it's TOM...not freaking out yet)
Training: Day A
Lat pulldown 12x#5, 2x12x#6 (must figure out what the #'s are equivalent to)
Lat pulldown supinated grip (*I think, the chinup grip. I don't have access to a chinup bar or assisted machine and I don't have the means to buy one so...this will have to do.) 3x10x#6
Standing curl and press 3x10x10
Straight leg crunch (weighted) 2x15x10
Side bridge 2x60sec (called for 120sec but no way I can do that!)
Cardio: Tennis to be played later.
Food Goal for today:
Cals: 1248
P: 150
C: 70
F: 40

I'll have to add in a tall nf/sf vanilla latte from Starbucks. Hunger was high today.....I even ate my lunch early. But I'm good now, I think. I am totally looking forward to two OFF days. It's not even the non-exercise that I'm looking forward to, more the fact that I won't have to get up super early to workout. I find that leaving my workouts for after work means that life/errands gets in the way and I NEVER work out after dinner.

I used to go to the gym at 22 at times, but that was before I knew anything about gym dogma and how working out without eating afterwards would turn all my muscles into goo overnight. Might try it again though, must be a lot less people there round 21ish.

Stupid day jobs, getting in the way of gym attendance (I tend to blame the job more than the chores of daily living ).

Left to my own devices, I'd work out in the morning and get it over with. But post-work has been my schedule for a few years now. I already get up at 5:15 as it is; just can't force myself to get up even earlier. Ugh.

I can't do it! By 10pm, I'm ready to sleep....

Which is why I am soo looking forward to summer break. I am looking forward to being able to wake up at 8, have my morning coffee/breakfast, read the paper, workout at 9 and then have the day to go to the beach, ride my bicycle, play tennis.

5:15 is ridiculously early! My mom wakes up at 5am for her job every morning and I can't comprehend it.

On the early morning note, I am tired today even though I didn't have to wake up early for a workout. Hubby and I talked last night about our adoption process. We've been trying to conceive for a year and a half and a few weeks ago decided to adopt.

That's a hefty decision, but it's great that you'll be able to improve the life of a little baby by a huge amount. The process of adoption is quite tough I hear, but we'll be offering encouragement

Default Week 6 day 4

06/17

**I also wanted to mention that I stayed on plan for yesterday's cals...well, I'm sure I did. I didn't weigh the almonds and we had trail mix. That stuff is dangerous for me! I love it. On to today.

Weight: 125.4 (I weighed myself like 4 times because the first weight was 127.2 and the three thereafter was 125.4 so I'm sticking with that. This is weird b/c usually I don't see a drop in weight until my period is done with. Maybe it'll spike again tomorrow.)
Training: OFF
Cardio: Any walking I do today.
M1: 1 whole egg, 0.6c eggwhite, 1tsp olive oil
M2: 1 scoop whey
M3: 145g canned tuna, salad, 1-2T light dressing
M4: 1oz almonds
M5: I don't know what to make for dinner!!! I'm thinking ground turkey. We'll see what I pull from the fridge.
M6: 150g ff plain yogurt, some pineapple *Note: fruit is not in the plan for today but if I have the cals for it, I'll eat it b/c it keeps cravings at bay.

If you've got ground turkey, why not turkey chili?

One of my favourite quick and easy dinners is basically turkey chili but with very little liquid so that it's nice and thick. Then I put it over greens with some shredded cheese, sour cream and salsa. Basically a tortilla salad without the tortillas (and no beans).

Oh wow! That's awesome and wonderful. Dh and I don't want biological kids, but we have discussed adoption - there are so many children who are unwanted, or born in tough circumstances and need a stable home.

I can't imagine getting up at 5:15 AM to work out, either, but I may have to do so soon. Well, I'll definitely have to do it on Sunday mornings. :P

Yes, there are those children...but with adoption come a lot of other psychological implications that at times freak me out. But OTOH, I suppose that's what all parents go through when they find out they're pregnant with their first. One step at a time.

I get to sleep in again tomorrow!!!

Default Must have eyes on the prize

So, I'm about 350 cals over......this is why;

Husband: How about some vino tonight?
Me: Um, yes. (it only took a split second for me to weigh the scale: stick to caloric allotment or have some wine....mmmmm....wine.....) One glass would be great.
Husband: Uncorks, pours.

We have dinner. I finish my glass.......longingly looking for more......

Husband: Another glass?
Me: Sure.
Husband: One glass, huh? Whatever......
Me: hey, diet, whatever. When it comes to wine, it's my weakness.

So, three glasses later, I feel the need to make up the extra 350 cals. So tomorrow, I will play tennis (b/c I love it and it's an OFF day) or go for a walk.......Do I feel guilty? Only because I paid $97 CDN for this package and I didn't stick to the program 100%. OTOH, I'm at my lowest weight in 8 months...LOL........I'm almost tempted to post a pic so that I can get some objective opinions on my body comp.

I'll be following your log as we're about the same age, same height and same weight (26, 5'3", 124lbs-ish). I'm trying to shift some fat too but I'm following NROLFW and desperately trying to sort out my food! Good luck on those last few pounds - we can do it!

Eh, what's life without a quality glass of wine (or three) now and again?

Hope the adoption process goes smoothly!

I'm glad to see so many folks coming over from FLZine.com. That community was just starting to really come together when it was abandoned. Of course, I understand why Leigh had to leave it be. And in truth I think the whole online fitness community is probably already a bit too fragmented. So, getting more folks onboard here is never a bad thing.

My life w/o wine is tragedy. I'll keep the adoption process updated as well.
