August 4 Training: A1 Cardio: None Cals: Over by two hundred cals...it's hard to input appies into fitday. The nice thing is that I made it all so the spinach and artichoke dip was low fat (tastes just like the real thing) and we had veggies as well.
-------------------
Other notes, today's weight is still 124.4....Unfortunately, I'm going away again tomorrow or early Friday and so I don't know if I'll even see my weight return to pre-camping of 122. And I'm expecting my period on Monday, which will also screw up weight. All I can do and all I can tell myself is to keep on sticking to the plan. Stick to the plan. Stick to the plan.
Aug 5 Training: A2 Cardio 40 mins of tennis....my backhand sucks right now. Bahhh...but overall, a fun game with hubband. Except that I had to ask him to slow down his shots...his warmups is me going fullout. Cals: Complied!
For dinner I made yummy kebabs with pork loin centres, peaches and veggies. And I toasted up some cubes of sourdough bread to make croutons......
---------------------------- Today: a run and possibly weights. I thought of trying to fit as many weight and cardio sessions as possible before I go away but that might be overkill.
In good news, weight is down another 0.4 to put me at a solid 124.
My favourite morning on vacation: get up, make coffee. Have breakfast, today it was egg whites scrambled w/ salsa and toast w/ light creamcheese and jam. Finish my coffee, mess around on the internet and then go for a run. My only time commitment today is to meet my friend for coffee at 2pm. I LOVE IT!
Speaking of which, I made the best white chocolate, cranberry and macedamia nut cookies. All around, I swear I have the best cookie recipe....
For this weekend, I am a little worried about food intake. Only because I know there will be lots of calorific, rich, delicious foods there that people are making since we're staying in a "cabin" at Whistler. I think if I try to minimize intake at breakfast and lunch, I should be okay to have a normal portion of dinner.
That does sound like a good cookie recipe. Yeah, I have realized how easy it is to overeat at breakfast, particularly while on vacation. Lots of carobrific (and therefore caloric) options.
Your plan to stay light for breakfast and lunch sounds good. Have fun!

Looks like you have the right attitude which I am going to borrow. The next week could be calorific for me but I'm not going to go too crazy. Keep your eyes on the prize!

Not that I have anything against carob or carob making things carobrific, but I meant carborific. Sorry.

And that's where I kind of sabotage myself. I'm making a baked french toast for Sat. breakfast. Including some vegetarian breakfast sausages and probably some turkey ones, too. But included will be lf yogurt and fruit. LOL.... Thanks, I decided finally to have an avi.

Eyes on the prize is right!!!! Funny thing is that I just had a physical and at my last one (nov '07) I was 134lbs. Yesterday, 124 and those 10lbs weren't from really difficult, hard dieting either!

LOL...that's all
---------- Aug 6 Cardio: 6 miles, 58 min
So, I'm supposed to do 40 mins of cardio w/ OPT (with 10 min warmup/cool down). I was feeling good and I was in more of a running mood today so I decided to go for the full 10k. And it WAS good! The last 0.5 miles, I kicked it and reached a top speed of 7 min/miles!!!! Probably only for 10 sec but still....not bad considering I just started running again. And now I know I can do 10k in just under an hour. Always a good time in my books.
So, are you going to share your choco/macadamia nut cookie recipe with us? *bats eyes* My dh LOVES macadamias - his family and friends usually give him canisters of them for Christmas - and I'd love to bake a batch of the cookies for him when he returns to the US for R&R.

Aw yeah! That's the stuff I like hearing!
And you're looking awesome in your new avi. Very nice

Update on Fri/Sat/Sun
It was a wonderful weekend! Five couples, good food, good wine and just fun! In truly one of the most beautiful places in the world! In terms of food, I didn't overdo it, but I did have a few drinks. It'll be exciting in 2010 when Whistler hosts the Olympics! Kind of neat to say that I ski somewhat regularly there....

Cardio/Training: NOPE Sat
Cardio: 40 min run Sun
Cardio/Training: NOPE
Now, back to the grind. Yesterday marked the start of week 4, which is a recovery and diet week only. Meaning, I now go to a 40% deficit. Which sucks, because I'm going to 1040 cals, which is only 100 cals less then before so not that bad I guess. I couldn't measure breakfast, but as long as I keep dinner to some protein and veggies, I should make it for my caloric requirements.
Thanks for posting the recipe! I may even test-drive it this weekend, LOL. You know, for quality-assurance purposes.
Glad you had an awesome time this past weekend. You also reminded me, one of my friends had asked me a long time ago if she and I wanted to organize a trip to the 2010 Winter Olympics. It's probably too late to book something, but it would still be awesome to go up there next year.
Aww, too bad I didn't see your cookie recipe until after I'd attempted these Black and White Striped cookies for a get-together tonight. I am not impressed.
Glad you had a good weekend! Enjoy the rest week--they're nice for taking care of chores around the house/errands/whatever.

It will definitely be a party atmosphere here!!! It you do look into booking something, if you give me the details, I can let you know what it's "really" like and how close to the city it is. It's also entirely dependent on budget....I assure you, the cookies are awesome!

I will enjoy the rest week! Let's be honest though, since I've been off on holidays since June 29th, I can't complain. Hopefully I can stick to the cals...I need to shed a ton of water weight!
---------------------------------
Speaking of water weight, I weighed myself this morning....126. There might have been a number after the decimal but I couldn't compute.....eek!!!! I am on my period so that makes a HUUUUGE difference. Hopefully by the end of the week, weight will go down. I don't know if I'll have lost anything by the end of the week, though.......
Have met my calorie goals for yesterday. And although I'm in deficit mode, I was a nice wife and I made blueberry muffins for my husband. I CAN'T wait until Sunday when I CAN EAT CARBS.
However, to keep me going, my weigh in this morning: 122.8. wahoo!
I had to go to the dentist yesterday and I didn't like it. I know the hygienist is just doing her job but the way she talked was overly perky. And she talked me through every single painful detail of what was going to happen next.
Congrats on the scale moving downward again! If I hang out enough in your log, will that rub off on me?

I'll ask for your help if I can do the Vancouver trip early 2010. That would just be the best.
And don't worry, I know your cookies will prolly be really good. I just needed an excuse to bake this weekend, LOL.
Baking is always fun! I really want to bake but it kind of sucks when I can't actually eat it. I may try a new bread recipe for dinner with friends tomorrow.

Thanks....I think a huge factor was that I'm at the end of my period. I notice a huge whoosh every month. Well, almost every month.
--------------- August 13 Weight: 122.8 I hope it gets down to 122 before Sunday!!!!
Other notes, we had our last meeting with our social worker. Just one more piece of paperwork to complete and in the next week, our paperwork should be sent to Korea and then it's just waiting a few months to see which child will be placed with us!

Congrats on both counts, but particularly on the adoption process!

Congrats on both counts, but particularly on the adoption process! [/quote]Thanks!!! I get so excited when I think about the fact that in months, we'll be welcoming a new baby into our family. I am soooo ready!!! It's amazing. I'll just have to have lots of patience over the next few days.
So, not much to report....... August 14 weight: 122.8
Blah....I was hoping to reach 122 but I don't think it's going to happen. And the rest week is killing me! If I was working I think it would be different but I just want to be able to go for a run, workout, something! In hindsight, maybe I could have just started round 2 and then inserted a rest week next week when I naturally won't be able to workout....Oh well....the nice thing is that once I get back from this next trip, there won't be anymore and I can focus on shedding some fat!
On other notes, since I don't have any interesting training notes...There's a friend that hubby has and we hang out with him and his wife, my hubby says I'm not very nice. It's not that I'm overtly mean but according to him, the tone of my voice is different and I act differently. Granted, I know I take a while to warm up to people and I hardly know them because they moved away soon after hubby and I met and they just moved back.....at any rate, made me feel like I was being a bad person........blah...I guess I have to work on "niceness".
Sorry, I don't have time to read your updates properly but I've just seen you're at 122.8lbs. Congrats!
I'm still getting stuck at around 123/124 most days despite seeing 122.25 on Wednesday.
I'll be back on Sunday to have a good catch up of everyone's logs.
Thanks! My next goal is to get into the 121's!
----------
I spent 1.5hrs in line for a sample sale....they had designer jeans for $50 but the pair I tried on (Joe's) weren't very flattering for my bum. But I did buy a gorgeous black, pencil-style skirt......and a cute top.
I thought I went waaay over b/c I had two glasses of wine at a friend's but keeping cals super low meant that I was probably 200 cals over if I included the two pieces of chocolate I ate, 1T lf sourcream and salad.
Very happy to see that the adoption process is moving along! And yay on the nice clothing rack finds too. I think I'm going to be brave and get a cute halter top to wear, finally. I'll have to schedule a shopping expedition soon.

I can't wait to go pick up the baby!!!

Update of stats...
Unfortunately, I didn't take measurements at the beginning of OPT, just pics and I didn't have time to take pics this morning....I'll go with what is on Fitday...
June 31 Weight: 124.6 Chest (under boobs):29" Waist: 27.5" Hips/abdomen (I measure at my hip bone which I'm not sure if correct but if I measure at the same spot...it doesn't matter.): 33.5" R. Thigh: 21"
August 16 Weight: 122.8 (my low this week, this morning I woke up at 123.4) Chest: 29" Waist: 27.25" Hips: 33" R. thigh: 20"
I don't know how happy I am w/ the results.....happy enough I guess b/c my 4 weeks of OPT were interrupted by two long weekends on vacation. Plus my stats haven't been taken at regular intervals.....I should take pics to see if they're different.
The next week will be maintenance and then I buckle down for OPT round 2.
Tomorrow marks the start of week 5 of OPT.... I had lots of fun in Willamette Valley, OR but now it's time to shed a few more lbs. I'd type more but I just painted my nails.
August 24 (the date on the previous post is wrong, that was yesterday, the 23rd)
We did the Grouse Grind...personal best time of 52:08. My garmin says I only burned 144 calories but I think I burned more...my peak heart rate was 188!! If you're ever in Vancouver and you like a physical challenge rewarded by a beautiful view, then you have to do the grind!!!!
The Modern Day Revival The revival began in the early 90s, when the trail was appropriately named the Grouse Grind® in conjunction with the first ever Grouse Grind Mountain Run®, now Western Canada’s premiere trail challenge. Often referred to as “Mother Nature’s Stairmaster,” the trail has become part of the fabric of Vancouver. More than 100-thousand hikers a year take on the challenge of the rugged terrain and steep climb, up an approximate 56 per cent slope (30°), which starts at the Valley Station of Grouse Mountain and finishes at the Peak’s plateau.
In 1996, the original cast of builders, along with a number of enthusiasts from the B.C. Federation of Mountaineering Club and Grouse Mountain, rebuilt the trail ensuring optimum safety and enjoyment for the high volume of hikers while maintaining the highest level of environmental protection from erosion.
