Mmm, fruit. While back I did the South Beach Diet. Hated those first two weeks where I couldn't eat fruit. I can give up breads, pasta, rice, etc., okay, but I loves me my fruit.

4. Sleep: 8-9 hrs. Yes

So overall, I sucked. Yesterday was great until I got home. Then my friend wanted to go out to the market and we said yes. But I also still had to grocery shop and prepare the dough for cinnamon buns. Yes, cinnamon buns. I'm on a deficit and I made cinnamon buns for some friends who came over for brunch. **sigh**But that left me with no time to workout. So I called it a day and figured I would consider it an OFF day for cals. Hubby and I had a celebratory, end of the school year, drink together at home. 130 cals worth for me.......

I'm having a hard time with the rigidity of OPT remix. I feel like if I can't follow the program to 100% then I need to work a different method. For example, today, we're going on a hike. This isn't a leisurely walk through the woods. It's called the Grouse Grind and it's nature's stairmaster from hell...the type where I'm cursing 1/2 way because it feels like it should be 3/4 of the way and I am working very hard. They say that your best 10K time is how long it takes to do the grind and yet I think the grind is harder. Anyways, if I do the Grind w/o carbs then I feel it. B/c I'm burning way more cals I am going to eat some extra carbs before. But I'm not sure at what point my occasional extra exercise will adversely affect my progress on this program. Summer just provides so many opportunities to go outside and be active! OTOH, I can just work through today's anomaly the best I can and then carry on the rest of the week following the plan. Perhaps that's what I'll do.....

Quick update:

Sat: Exercise: the grind.
Sun: Training Day B, includes bike intervals, which were tough.
Weight: 126.0

Overall compliance: embarrassing.
Rationale for weight: my period will be arriving shortly.
Morale: Sucks
HOWEVER! I will finish the week out best I can and then re-evaluate.

THOUGHTS: Maybe OPT Remix is too much for me and I should just 'fess up to that and admit, I'm too much of a wuss for it. Or I also just thought that although I feel I only have 10lbs to lose and OPT remix is for those wanting to lose those 10lbs, maybe OPT remix is for those who's last 10lbs lost will get them contest ready. BIG DIFFERENCE! If that's the case, then the original OPT for fatloss is what I should be doing. Plus, I want to start running. Nothing intense, but enough of a base so that I can train for either a May 1/2 or a June 1/2. In more exciting news, we've decided to adopt from Korea!!!!! That means that I will most likely be going to pick up my child in March. OH MY GOODNESS! That excites me waaaay more than six-pack abs.

Bahhh....any feedback peeps?

Default I am going to enter OPT in two and a half weeks

Okay, so I've made my decision! It's actually a bit of a no-brainer! I read through OPT and the beauty of it is that it incorporates SS cardio! Which is a perfect way for me to spend 12 weeks transitioning into some more formal running training AND hopefully induce some fatloss. At any rate, I will start on July 19th. I'm going away from the 6-14th and then my brother's wedding is on the 18th. I can use those two weeks to eat maintenance and take a break.

Default Week 8 Day 2

June 29
Weight: 126
Training: Day A
Good times........it's boring, weights have stayed the same. It suffices that I actually did it!!!!

Other plans
1. Clean out fridge
2. Clean floors
3. Clean leather furniture
4. Go to the mall...this is to get some walking in today.
5. Do my nails
6. I love summer vacation!

And I've already baked a load of cookies. Some for a Canada Day BBQ and some for our roadtrip.

Congrats on going through with the adoption process! I am curious about one thing, though: do they ask questions about your weight (and your husband's)? My dh told me a while ago that when you're going through a Korean adoption, one of the criteria they use for screening parents is weight.

And I think your decision to go with OPT is good. Whatever will help you stick with a program over a lengthy amount of time is a big plus, and since you love running, and that is compatible w/OPT, it'll be a huge boost for you.

Training/Cardio: OFF
However, we're painting our bedroom and bathrooms so that's my activity for the day.

So far so good! The bonus is that the Korea program is soo well established it has a predictable timeline.

Yes, they do. It's part of a medical form that your doctor has to fill out. I don't think that makes or breaks it in terms of you being eligible. I did hear of one couple being rejected because the wife was on a low dose prozac.

I am going to email my pic to Leigh and get her opinion as well.

I've been a lazy forum poster........I made my caloric goals yesterday even with some wine. It was a long day of painting.

In good news: weight is back down to 124.6!

Today's goal:
1) Train
2) Clean out the fridge
3) Maybe get some baking done.

We have a Canada Day BBQ later. I shall try to keep on top of my macros. Protein of late has been low, I've been a bit rebellious in that regard.

Happy Canada Day. We have 4th of July coming really soon.... And while I'm looking forward to the food and beer, I am so not looking forward to having my cat scared shitless by random neighborhood yahoos lighting up firecrackers.

This sounds like a good plan. I hope you get results. I'm still working on my plan...

Exciting news about the adoption! Good luck!

Default July 3

I finally did it and I attached pics. So this is me.......Basically, I don't like that I carry fat around my waist only. And I've lost fat from my boobs instead of more from my waist like I would have liked. My goal is the same as many others.....leaner all around. To see more stomach definition, leg definition and arms as well......

Thanks! Canada Day is definitely more low key than the Americans...LOL...we're too shy to do that!

Hmm, I'm getting an "internal server error" for your pics (and you're braver than I for being willing to post them in the first place!).

Instead of quoting my pics again b/c just that one set is enough for me, I want to re-iterate my goals and questions. Actually, I think from here, i just need to continue to work on losing more chubs........Hopefully by the time I get back from our roadtrip/vacation, Leigh will have responded back to me to point me in the right direction!

In other random notes, I am loving sleeping in. And I am now officially on my diet break.....maintenance cals!!!!!! Wahoo!!!!

Official weight loss: -1.6lbs in my 8 weeks of OPT Remix.....

Default The plan

So, today's is a reload day. I am going to do the reload training but carbs aren't going to be as high. Since I didn't keep carbs low the last few days, I figure I'm not depleted enough. But I will eat at maintenance, which is perfect since my parents have invited us over for dinner. I *heart* Korean BBQ!

Then tomorrow we're out all day, watching a Bard play, A Comedy of Errors.

On Monday, we leave for a roadtrip across Canada. It goes something like: Drive 10hrs to Canmore, (in the Rockies) stay 3 nights...which includes whitewater rafting on tuesday!!!! Then on Thursday, we go though Calgary and drive 7-ish hours to Regina, Saskatchewen. Stay the night, then we drive another 6-ish hours to Winnipeg, Manitoba. Stay three nights for a wedding and 90th birthday for my hubby's grandfather. Head back west on Monday for 14hrs to Calgary. Spend the night, then head home for 10hrs.

So, lots of driving....I do enjoy roadtrips and I've never driven across the prairies.....and everyone got a little Cdn geography lesson from my description!

Canmore is going to be three night of relaxing, wine, vodka/coke zero, good food. And the wedding will be fun, I have my outfit for the wedding and the birthday party all picked out!!!

When we get back, I'll still be on maintenance since our wedding anniversary is on the 16th and I am making a special meal and the my brother's getting married on the 18th. On the 19th, I'll start my new plan.

Okay, I'm ready to be back. It's going to be the OPT program starting on Sunday. After emails to Leigh and sending pics to her, she recommended that program and also indicated that with 7-9 lbs of loss, I'll see definition. Wahoo!!!!!!!

Even with losing just 1 lb a week, you won't even need the whole program!
