No workout today, just too much stuff going on, too exhausted, haven't been sleeping well so I'm skipping until my deadlines are over and I can focus. Doing it tired and unmotivated is worse than not doing it at all. I think.

So instead of posting my workout, I'm just going to post about Kirstie Alley in the latest People mag. She lost a 75lbs, gained 83lbs back and now weighs 228. Allegedly. I just don't believe that she weighed 145lbs when she appeared on Oprah in that bikini. Is she on crack? She needs to come look at the picture thread her! HA HA!

I had to go look for the picture, and I don't know how tall she is, but probably not 145 in the picture, but definitely a transformation. Having said that, she seems quite muscled on the top half. I'm sorry for her that her loss/gain is so public though. I know, she made it public, but still...

While I feel bad for her, I also think that going on tv in a bikini is kinda asking for it... as is having a show about your life called "fat actress." Others have gained and lost, but not so publicly... Her arms/shoulders sure did look nice in that bikini!

Yeah, but you know, you see lots of heavy men on television. Not so many women. There are some, but mainly in comic relief kind of characters. Okay, I don't watch that much television to know if the shows I watch are the few and far between. However, I think that gaining a few pounds is okay if you're a man, but not so if you're a woman. I wish I could remember what I was watching recently and was quite surprised how the guest star (a guy) had let himself go. I doubt a woman looking so poor would have got the same kind of guest spot.

I actually saw 'Fat Actress', it was kind of funny. Although honestly, Kristie Alley was never a particular favourite actress. If I had to pick someone who was dumped for weight, and was really quite funny, it would be Delta Burke.

Was that her show on Showtime? If it was, I loved that damn show! I've always liked her. I feel bad that she deals with the whole weight issues in public and I did read some of the thiings the paparazzi have yelled and her, which made me sad.
Here's the thing, though. There is something much deeper inside that she has got to figure out. She is apparently going to release some kind of diet plan in Novemeber, blah blah blah. She needs to not do it for others, but for herself. Period.
I just looked it up online and it says she is 5'8.

Sorry, Pam! LOL Love the new name and wanted to stop by and tell you hello. I got a little sidetracked with the KA conversation.

Right! I guess this is what bugs me about her. If she's going public with her weight struggle and isn't being forthcoming about where she really is then I don't see how she can be successful in the long term. It might be hard to put the truth out there, but I'd think it would be even more humiliating to keep failing cuz you're not being honest with yourself. I hope she's not setting herself up to do that again. I like her as an actress and identify with anybody struggles with weight and body image.

So today I exercised for the 1st time in 2 weeks. I just got on the spin bike for about 45 minutes, but it's something. No way I can hit the weights right now, not eating nearly enough calories. Hopefully I'll get that back on track this week.

Happy Mom's Day to all...

Thanks Celeste!

I'm still here plugging along on all my stuff. I have a final tonight, just turned in a shhhload of research reviews trying to qualify for the comps exam this weekend. If I do qualify that will occupy me all weekend, Thurs-Monday. Plus work is equally busy trying to get my new batch of kids for next year set up for summer school and exiting my outgoing kids going to the right programs as well. Special Ed teachers really become paper pushers at this time of the year, it kind of sucks.

I did get an A on my Lit Review, which is nice but I totally did not deserve it.

No exercise, still eating 2 meals a day. Saturday I at 3 meals and felt stuffed. Weight is flat. I'll worry about it next week.

About 6 weeks! It's coming up fast. I'm a little freaked because I need winter clothes, and I don't have ANY that fit. One I'm done with work/school I will be trolling the resale shops like crazy. It stinks to be looking for jeans and sweaters in May!

We're out of school on June 5. I am teaching the 1st three weeks of summer school, the last day is on the day we leave for vacation. I don't really want to do it because there are always 20+ kids and I only get 1 aide. I know 20 doesn't seem like a lot, but when they all have autism and need individual attention it's like being in a 5 hour torture session! It's also a good way for me to get my new students into a routine. One year I did not teach summer school and I was so sorry because they got somebody else to do it and she really didn't care what the kids did. My new kids got off to a really unstructured start in my classroom and I had a hard time changing that.

There's some talk that 3 of the kids coming to summer school have 1:1 aides but that there won't be any 1:1 aides for the summer. If that happens there is no way I am teaching summer school The people who make decisions like that can do it and see how it works for them. Ha Ha!

I'm totally behind on logs, workouts, and food tracking. Working on my last project right now, which is a comps exam. 15 page paper on a particular scenario. I've got about a page done so far. OOPS!
