Ugh ugh ugh...a refeed day is not for me. I feel like shhh...bloated and gross, my gut is hanging over my jeans. How can 1900 calories do that? It didn't even seem like that much food. I would not be sad if this doesn't increase my loss because the thought of doing this every week makes me cringe. Can't sleep, have to go to work in the morning. yuck...
The good side, because there's always a good side, is that the next two days are rest days. My body feels beat, I must need it.
Really? I love my refeed days! Yeah, my belly is bigger for a day or 2, but I guess I hate being hungry and need a day where if I see something I want I can have it (within reason)... Sorry you don't feel good! Hopefully it helps budge the scale though...
Bummer Pam... I'm sorry that the refeed didn't agree with you! It's a learning process I guess... what works for some doesn't work for others. You've been doing great so far, so just keep doing what's been working for you!
"As far as (healthy) eating, either do it, or don't. Same issues repeated over and over is just insanity. We either commit to the endeavor or pay lip-service to it. This is the hardest part of the whole process, and it needs to be practiced more than the actual physical training. It's mind training." ~ Matt Thorne
"The reason that most people fail instead of succeed is that they trade what they want most for what they want at the moment."

That stinks! I kinda know what you mean and I hate the bloaty thing. I used to do my refeeds on Sunday and ended up switching them up because in some weird way, it totally bummed me out in the beginning of the week to see the slight rise on the scale. We all have our quirks, huh? At least we are in good company, LOL!

SO much better today with my little bird meals and no carbs. HA HA! Thankfully for me the batteries in the scale are dead and I didn't have time to fire up the Wii this morning.
I don't have a GWF or a Bugg, but after one day back at work it seems like NEAT is up up up. At the end of the day I realized how sedentary being on vacation can be.
Tonight was my first workout since going back to work. Working out at night is .
1A DB STEP UP
15 x 20#
15 x 20#
15 x 20#
1B DB SHOULDER PRESS
12 x 15#
12 x 15#
10 x 15#
2A GOBLET SQUAT
15 x 15#
15 x 15#
15 x 15#
2B LYING DB PULLOVER
15 x 15#
15 x 15#
15 x 15#
3 PLANK
60 seconds (really 10+15+10+20+20)
DH had to come out and help me with the last set of the presses. If he hadn't have been here I wouldn't have done them. There's a huge difference in energy working out at night, but I got through it.
No weight loss in forever, there's no way those jeans are going to fit me in 10 days. Trying not to obsess, succeeding some of the time. Off to the shower now, then bed. Ahhhhh!
Yesterday's workout. Should have done it on Friday evening but just had too much going on.
1A STATIC LUNGES
15 x 5#e
15 x 5#e
15 x 5#e
1B INCLINE DB PRESS
12 x 17.5#e
12 x 17.5#e
12 x 17.5#e failure on last rep
2A HIP EXTENSION
15 x 25#
15 x 25#
15 x 25#
2B SEATED ROW TO NECK
15 x 17.5#
15 x 17.5#
15 x 17.5#
3 PRONE COBRA
60 seconds
I'm still keeping on keeping on. I tend to skip weights and overdo cardio. so I'm really proud of myself that I've been consistent with the weights and allowed myself to back off from the cardio.
Right now I'm trying to gear up for May. It's going to be a busy busy busy month between family stuff, work, and school. Lot's of opportunities for NEAT.
Measurements are down but scale weight is up. Why does that happen? Why does it BUG ME SO DARN MUCH???
SOOO busy this week. Meetings for next year's incoming freshmen, exit meetings for outgoing seniors, state academic testing, sick instructional assistants, 8 research journal reviews plus a 15-page lit review for my research project due Monday, and I still need to pack for my Vegas weekend. ARGHHH!!!
I think refeeds are important to do for most people so that you do not dump a lot of muscle in your fat loss goals. You want to stay strong despite being on deficit and refeeds really help with that.

Tell me about it. Sorry I was AWOL for the refeed freakout! I also feel mis-er-able after refeeds, especially if it's carb-heavy. Bleah.
Vegas, baby! Have fun!
I hate to say this, but I am NOT going to Vegas. Ugh. I haven't finished my lit review that is done Monday, nor the other work that has to get done. I just misjudged the amount of time it would take me and I've been overwhelmed at work as well. YUUUUUUUUK!!!!

Lots of great changes here Pam, but they're really dramatic in the challenge thread (where you see first and last). All show fantastic progress, but especially the side view!
I was on my way out earlier and just wanted to get the pics posted in case I get too busy later on. I posted the wrong chart with my collage here, the right one is below and shows my monthly stats.
I'm happy with the progress, but not really proud of the way I've gotten there. Eating has been really crappy for the last 10 days. Not eating junk or binging, just not eating very much food in general due to a crazy schedule and lots of deadlines coming up on me at once. Things will not slow down until the 1st weekend in June so it will be a verrrrry long month.
Breakfast has been the only consistent meal for me lately. One day last week I skipped lunch and dinner and just downed a protein shake with PB because it was quick. Other days I have eaten lunch and skipped dinner or vice versa. Tracking sucks too but my guess is that cals haven't been over 1200.
Workouts were also non-existent this past week, haven't done anything since last Saturday. DH is insisting I get on the spin bike this evening just to de-stress if nothing else. I will try to return to the workouts by Wednesday.
It's almost like I am paralyzed by the amount of work I have to do but the good thing is that the deadlines will all pass soon and the stress will be over. Can't wait for summer...GAH!!

I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.
My goodness you are shrinking before our very eyes! Go you! Look at how tiny your waist is getting!! Nicely done. Breathe and get through your deadlines.

Thank you thank you. I do feel like I am getting somewhere now and accepting that along the way my body is just going to hang out at a certain size for a little while longer than I'd like.
My least favorite part of my body is my hips, SO MUCH fat is stored there! Hopefully it's too the point where most of the fat that's come off the top half of my body is gone and now the lower half can start shrinking. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Well, Pam, I hope you are congratulating yourself--your progress is amazing! Yay! I'm really looking forward to seeing what happens in the next 2 months. For both of us! Your hips and my belly are in big trouble. : )
