Gracias mucho.
Yes, I did get the Powerblocks. They are nice!
I wasn't going to do a rest week, but it's sort of turned out that way thanks to things going on at work and a new student with extreme behaviors who is giving me a special "workout" every day. I'm choosing sleep over exercise so it's not really a loss.
You had seom really great progress in the first month. Great job. LOL @ the Wii fit getting smaller. Mine did that too, but I have a feeling I am going to be reprimanded when I turn it on again, because I haven't logged in for so long.

So, I've given OPT 6 weeks with great compliance and effort and had GREAT results, 11lbs and a few inches. BUT, I just don't like the plan.
Eating at these macros (40% carbs) make me feel UGH. Cravings are out of control the past three weeks and they are taking a lot of energy to overcome, and the past few days I'm feeling hungry all the time as well. I'm thinking I need something with fewer carbs and more fat.
Also, the OPT exercise instruction/pictures are just not enough for me. I need more details and videos. And less of that ball. At this point I just want simple compound stuff.
I'm thinking TNT might be a better fit for me. I was going through food logs from 2005 when my plan was pretty much South Beach. I did really well on that and seemed to have been more upbeat about my plan. I'm going to cut back on the carbs for a few days and see if the cravings stop, then make a decision.

Congrats on the awesome results!
I think it's a good idea to change things up especially when you mentally need a change. Good luck with whatever you decide!
I think that when you aren't doing well on the food, it's definitely time to change things up. Like all plans, OPT isn't for everyone. In fact, I would think that there isn't one plan that's going to fit everyone. It's more important to find something that suits you. Good luck with you changes.
Well I did decide to try TNT and "splurged" to kick it off by eating about 6oz of Ribeye steak and a big side of steamed broc topped with feta. Not my usual steak or even my favorite, but it seemed like a good idea! No butter though, I can't stomach the though of butter on steak.
I ended up doing the TNT workout on Monday and really liked it, that is what helped me to decide. I was able to look through the program online and then headed out to buy the book.
After 4 days I feel good and definitely have fewer cravings. I found some yummy cheese at Costco yesterday, garlic cheddar and spicy buffalo cheddar. SOOOO good!
Here's my 2/20 workout. I've back off on the weights a bit because I'm not sure how it will be to go heavier without the carbs. It seems to be okay so I'll begin to increase.
TNT Phase 1 Workout A
1A:Static Lunge 2sets/10reps/15# each hand
1B:Incline DB press 2 sets/15reps/15# each hand
2A:Hip Extensions 2 sets/15reps/10#plate
2B:Seated Row to Neck 2 sets/15reps/20#
3:Prone Cobra 1/60sec
I've never done those particular rows, they were challenging. I really love being able to do all my workouts at home.
I never got the whole 'butter topped steak' myself. We use a garlic/pepper mix with seasoned salt, put on just before tossing it on the grill. I can't imagine needing anything else. Glad that your change seems to have been a good one!
Month 2 progress. I'm happy with it so far. I'm not sure that the pictures really show all the changes, but they are definitely there.
TNT eating is much better for me. As long as I continue to get smaller I am not going overboard with counting and measuring. Not being obsessed with grams, ounces, and food in general is nice.
My goal for March is to just keep going AND to be better about logging and posting. I was really struck by that Harvard diet comparison study that was in the news earlier this week. Not so much for the diet part of it, but that it showed people who are part of a support group had a much better rate of success.
Two months until my yearly girls' trip to Vegas. Four months until our big summer vacation. Feels good to have made so much progress this many months before summer!
I see the most changes in the side view, although I do see changes on all views. Nice consistent work here. I think we need to follow your example in the coming months.
No progress this month, UGH! I attended a 5 day conference mid-month and that really derailed me. No fridge in the hotel room, no gym in the hotel, no grocery store within walking distance, crap restaurants nearby, no rental car, $4 bottles of water. BLAH!!! I ate okay but restaurant food is loaded with sodium and hidden carbs, so I've spent the last three weeks getting back to where I was before the conference.
I see lots of changes from the start of the challenge to now.... I agree with Bytsi about not being so hard on yourself! You're making fantastic progress!
"As far as (healthy) eating, either do it, or don't. Same issues repeated over and over is just insanity. We either commit to the endeavor or pay lip-service to it. This is the hardest part of the whole process, and it needs to be practiced more than the actual physical training. It's mind training." ~ Matt Thorne
"The reason that most people fail instead of succeed is that they trade what they want most for what they want at the moment."
Thank you all! It is so hard for me to see changes in myself. There is definitely some dysmorphia going on here, it drives my family insane!

Hey, Pam, just stickin' my nose in here to say hi. Your consistent progress is inspirational! Have you put your first month and 4th month next to each other? Awesome progress. : )

Thanks Elisabeth! Haven't put those pics together, but I think I will. Also took pics with clothes on just for some perspective, and I'll probably post them later.
