Thought I'd post my weekly workout plan to help keep me accountable. Here's what I will be doing this week. Now that I've signed up for a 10K in March, I've got more of a plan for my running. And I like a plan
Monday: HIIT in the morning, burn circuit #1 after work Tuesday: 2 mile run Wednesday: short HIIT run followed by SS on the ET, burn circuit #2 after work Thursday: 5 mile run Friday: REST Saturday: burn circuit #3, short HIIT run Sunday: 6 mile run
I MIGHT switch Friday and Sunday's workout...but I'll probably decide later on in the week.
I wish I could plan my dinners as easily...and I probably could if we did some serious grocery shopping...which we really need to do soon.
I'm not a certified teacher. Right now I'm an inclusion aide. I'm working on my degree to become a teacher. It's taking me longer than usual...got pregnant/married over the years. But, I'll get it done!
Very cool! I would love to be a teacher - I think. Never having done anything beyond tutoring, I'm not sure! I didn't graduate college until I was almost 30!
I'm REALLY liking the ChaLEAN program. I'm really getting used to the slow lifting...at first I didn't like it, but I like it...depending on what body part we are working...LOL!
I am back to doing ChaLEAN and loving it! I'm sticking with it through at least the 12 weeks. The slow lifting is very hard! Whatever I'm working is shaking by the time I finish a set.
Ha! That Midland run does sound boring. I have been through Midland before, but how cool that you have family joining you!? A family of runners? I'm impressed. Every time I think to do the Couch-to-5k running plan, I fail miserably, mostly by quitting. I walk/jog on the treadmill at the gym and it is dreadfully boring.
Your workout schedule looks great! I'm going to try to tack on short cardio after CLX lifting DVDs eventually. Just don't feel like I've really worked out without a bit of sweaty cardio. Are you running for your HIIT? Is CLX Burn it Off HIIT? That's the only workout I haven't done yet. Certainly looks like HIIT.

OMG, I'm loving ChaLEAN also and the slowness is KILLING me. Seriously! I never thought lifting for one set that slow would fatigue my muscles so much!!!!

Yep! A family of runners! Actually, both my parents run. I've run 2 1/2 marathons with them...I'm an only child. My mom is so awesome. She has beat me in the 3 1/2's I've run with her. The last race we ran, she beat me by 8 minutes.

I know what you mean about tacking on cardio after the weights. I do my cardio early in the morning b/c I do my weights after work. I'm not sure about the CLX burn it off...I'll have to check it out!!!
Well it certainly has been a while since I've posted! Posting during the week is hard for me b/c I'm always so busy. Now with school starting up again and coaching little dribblers...I will be busy 24/7!!
So, here's how my weekly workouts have gone so far:
Monday: Did burn circuit #1 *sumo squat w/ hip lift: 20lbs 12 reps *lunge w/ posterior flye: 10lbs. 12 reps *push up w/ leg lift: 10...all on my toes *dead lift w/ posterior flye: 10lbs. 12 reps *lunge w/ core rotation: 20lbs. 12 reps *bench press 20lbs. 10 reps *squat w/ side bend: 20lbs. 12 reps *forward lean lunge w/ dble arm posterior flye: 5lbs. 12 reps *chest flye: 15lbs. 10 reps
Tuesday: I didn't workout
Wednesday: did burn circuit #2 (I didn't do any lower body with this b/c I really just don't like doing that...I want to concentrate on my upper body) *bicep curl: 15lbs. 10 reps *one arm tricept ext.: 10lbs. 12 reps *Dead lift row: 15lbs. 12 reps *Overhead tricept ext.: 15lbs. 11 reps *Double arm row: 15lbs. 10 reps *Single arm row: 20lbs. 10 reps *bicep curls: 15lbs. 10 reps *double arm row: 15lbds. 12 reps *Push ups: 10 on my toes
Thursday: again, missed workout
Now I know it seems like I'm not doing much with my lifting b/c I'm only doing 1 set per exercise...but with the ChaLEAN program...she makes you go REEEEEEAAAAAALLLLLLY slow. And when you go heavy (well, that's heavy for me) 12 reps seems like 100 and it BURNS!
I'm really enjoying the program...and it feels good to lift again!
Hey, getting in two good workouts in a very busy week is nothing to be ashamed of (and I can see how that would be hard, with a very slow tempo). Keep it up next week and have fun coaching!

Okay, so I've gotten 4 workouts in this week...not too bad! Yesterday (1/16) I did burn circuit #3...(shoulders) Again, I didn't do lower body along with upper...just stuck to upper body and did the lower body when it was ONLY lower. Again, this stage is slow.
Today I only had 30 min. to workout, so I did some HIIT on the TM. I did a 5 min. warmup and alternated sprinting at 7.5 for one min. and walking for 1 min. then jogging (5.5) for one min...I did that about 6x, then cooled down.
DH is playing in a one man golf scramble today...they teed off about 11am and he won't be home until about 5 or so....so I plan to get LOTS of cleaning/laundry done today. We might to see a movie and out to dinner tonight...depending on how he feels.
I start school tuesday and I already have a paper due on Friday!!! I think my bball team will start our practice next week...I'm so excited!!!
Celesta, your workouts look really good in here! How fun that you will all be doing the race together. Very cool!
Thanks! Yeah, I'm pretty excited about the race. I hope my mom decides to run...I want to beat her one of these days!
Okay, so my eating hasn't been very good. It's been awful. We haven't gone grocery shopping yet and probably won't go until Tuesday or Wednesday. I have been eating nothing but junk. Now I feel awful.
Just checking in...I promise I will post workout info later tonight. I just got home from work and now I'm trying to get my college stuff organized (classes started today) and now I've got practice w/ my bball team then I've gotta go work to sell tickets for a fundraiser...then I will be home!
Ugh, what a week it has been...a long one! I have still been doing my workouts and logging them in my journal...I just got home from a mini trip and I'm super tired and have things to put away.
Hey everyone! Sorry it's been a while since I've updated my log. OMG, life has/is so hectic!!! Thank goodness I'm doing this challenge or my workouts would be on the back burner!!
Today's workout, Push phase 1 of ChaLEAN Extreme: (again, the reps in this phase are SLOOOOOW!)
Bicep curls: 2x15; 8 reps
squats: 2x25; 8 reps
right arm tricep kickbacks: 12; 6 reps
left arm tricep kickbacks: 12; 6 reps
v-press bicep curl: 2x12; 6 reps
right single leg squat: 2x25; 8 reps
left single leg squat: 2x25; 8 reps
overhead tricep ext. 20; 6 reps
hammer curls: 2x15; 8 reps
squat: 2x25; 8 reps
push ups: 10 all on toes!
I didn't get up and do cardio this morning like I wanted...I woke up like waaaay late.
It's FINALLY feeling like winter here...so I'm not sure I will get up tomorrow and do my cardio...too cold to get out of bed
So, I may either do it tomorrow after work or bball practice...don't know yet.
I'm really liking ChaLEAN...I really do feel like I'm getting stronger!
Ugh, today I got NO workout in. I hate when I don't get a workout in...I just don't feel right.
It snowed here!!! Sunday it was 78 degrees and this morning we woke up to snow...that's TEXAS weather for ya! I think it's supposed to be another cold day tomorrow...but not AS cold and no snow
Tomorrow will be push workout #2. My eating is getting better....I'm following a plan where I'm trying to eat at least 5 small meals/day. It looks something like this:
Meal 1: protein+starchy carb+and/or simple carb
Meal 2: just like meal 1
Meal 3: protein+startchy and/or simple carb+fibrous carb
Meal 4: protein+fibrous carb
Meal 5: just like meal 4
So far it's looking good. Tomorrow at work, it's soup day staff is bringing soups and crackers/bread...the whole works. I'm making a low cal taco soup and my mom is making low cal cornbread...I'm so lucky to work with my mom AND that she is into exercise and eating clean...she motivates me like nobody's business!!!
omg! I posted a long post about my workouts and I don't know what the heck happened to it!!!
I lifted on Wednesday and today. My cardio isn't there...don't know what the deal is. It always seems like when I'm doing one part right the other isn't right...like a few weeks ago, my working out was great but my eating wasn't. Now my eating is great and I'm slacking on the cardio...ugh!
Well, it seems like in the past that your cardio is something you are strong in. So that will come back--but the fact that you're lifting and eating well is very exciting!

I am excited that I'm lifting and eating well and I know it's all because of the ladies I workout with. They are all older than me, old enough to be my mom (well, one IS my mom). I LOVE working out with them b/c they are my inspiration, they keep me motivated. We keep each other in check. If it wasn't for them...I'd be lost!!
And Celeste, I agree...I'm strong in the cardio area. Plus, I've got a 10K race that's 8 weeks away. So, I've planned out a week's worth of training. I REALLY need to get back into doing my runs in the early morning. Now that the snow is gone, it won't be so hard to get up at 4:45am!!
Today is a DOR. I'm going to have DH take my photos after church...yikes!!
GO CARDINALS!!! (Well I'm a COWBOYS fan...so that should explain why I'm NOT going for the steelers....)
Well, I finally got my pictures posted! Not much change.
I slept horribly last night therefore I didn't get up for my 5am run. But I did do Push Circuit #1 and I went up on all my weights!!! I REALLY like working my biceps and triceps!!! I just love that feeling of my muscles shake when I'm pushing...it's great!
Bad news: my Grandpa had a stroke today. It was VERY mild. Actually, my uncle who is a PA was visiting him and noticed something was "off" so he brought him into the ER and sure enough...he was having a stroke. Thank God my uncle was there and knew what he was doing. My Grandpa is doing good. He has VERY limited movment on the left side of his body, but with therapy, he should be 100% soon. So...prayers please!!
I will post my workout that I did today tomorrow b/c I left my sheet in my gym locker...
Hi Celesta,
Just checking in on you. How are you doing?
Hey Ginger! I'm doing good...thanks!!
Life is super busy right now!! I know when March gets here, it will be even busier, with work (TAKS testing), school (papers due), and my basketball team. We have our first game tonight and I"m SUPER DUPER nervous...I'm talking major butterflies in my stomach. I DO NOT like to lose and I don't take losing very well. I'm also nervous because my dad is a legendary little league coach...seriously. He decided to sit out this season...he's really busy with work. So, I took over. Now everyone has these expecations of me...to be just as good as my dad. Talk about pressure!! I know it sounds silly...but that's a small town for ya'!!!
When I get home tonight, I'll update on my workout yesterday and let ya'll know how the game went!

Well....we lost. By one &*^%$#@ point!!!!! And that's because the OTHER team shot TWO baskets on our goal and MISSED!!! But I was proud of my team. They played hard. It seems like we had so many practices but there's SOOOOO much we need to learn! Our shots just were NOT going in. Ugh, I'm still mad.
I left my workout paper in my locker. I did biceps, triceps, and lower body yesterday. I have gone up in my weights. Today was a 3 mile run in 30:40...not too shabby.
Well I think I had a very good workout today...I'm proud of myself!! Here's what today's workout looked like:
Push Circuit 2 Week 3
Overhead press: 2x20; 6 reps...I TRIED to do 7 this time, but as slow as we lift...my arms literally gave out.
Right leg leaning lunge: 2x25; 8 reps
Left leg leaning lunge: 2x25; 8 reps
Alternating reverse fly: 2x10; 8 reps (need to go up to 12 next time)
Arnold press: 2x16.25; 8 reps
Right single leg dead lifts: 2x25: 8 reps
Left single leg dead lifts: 2x25; 8 reps
Bent over alternating lat. raise: 2x12; 8 reps
Frontal shoulder press: 2x20; 8 reps
Right leg tap lunges: 2x20; 8 reps
Left leg tap lunges: 2x20; 8 reps
Lateral arm delt raises: 2x13.25; 8 reps
Food confession: I had TWO cinnamon rolls today at lunch. Our school makes THE best cinnamon rolls and we had beef and veggie soup...with the awesome cinnamon rolls...oops!!
Well we have our 2nd game tomorrow and I'm not too terribly worried about the team we are playing...but still, you just NEVER know. Hopefully we'll play LOTS better than we did yesterday....
Hope you guys do great on this game! Sorry about the cinnamon rolls--you'll do better today. Are you tracking your food? Sometimes once you enter it in and see the number in black and white, it's easier to resist the next time.

Thanks Celeste! I hope we do good this game too!! , no...I'm not tracking my food. I WAS tracking and doing good. I KNOW I need to get back to tracking because I weighed myself today and the number is going up....yikes!!!
