Haha, sorry to disappoint you Jane! I really did want to go, but once I saw how absolutely ridiculously crazy it's going to be I said no way. It would be as bad if not worse than New Years in Times Square, which I have less than zero desire to ever do in my life.. and I grew up only 2 hours north of NYC. It's not that I'm afraid of crowds, but I don't like them. They tend to make me very pissed off, lol. And I HATE cold weather, so you couldn't PAY me to stand outside for hours in freezing temps. But if it were in warmer weather and the entire country wasn't trying to make it here, then I would absolutely go. It is definitely historic. But I will be watching it from the warmth and comfort of my living room, lol. Perhaps with some hot tea

That's exactly how I feel about it, too! We live close enough that we could have attempted it, but....big crowds and freezing cold temps - NOT FOR ME!!
I'm not that big on crowds either. I'm pretty sure that's why I didn't enjoy my first trip to China - there were just too many people. The second time we went back we avoided Shanghai and only went ashore in smaller cities (although smaller is relative). It made a big difference to my impressions (as opposed to the first trip where I basically said I'd never go back).
Kara, just catching up in here--love that video! Those presses didn't even look hard for him, lol!!
hehe I know, I love that video

Yeah, it's not something I ever thought of either, until it randomly happened!

Hey Tracey, they're good, and getting better I think. They're worse in the mornings right when I wake up. It's like my eyelids are stuck to my eyeballs and I need to put drops in first thing. And outside gives me a little bit of a problem, but overall, I can see well and I'm really happy with it. Plus I'm only one week post op at this point and it can take up to 3 months for them to stabilize so we'll see.
Bri and I sat down yesterday morning and he took a really long time making a great program for me So we went to the gym by him and he worked me out like woah... curtsy lunges, 1-arm DB bench press (holy core workout batman!) Chin-ups with his assistance, 1-arm pulldowns, squats, deadlifts... lots of good stuff! The new program is 4 days a week, so I really have to buckle down and get it done. But starting when i get back to VA on Tuesday, I'll get my act together. I'll go Tuesday and wednesday, then Friday and Saturday. Then start on Monday and do MTu, ThF. I'm not going to track or try to cut cals because he said I will definitely need to be eating on this program! So we shall see how things go from here!
Glad things with the eyes are going pretty good. I remember the dry eyes - seemed like they were that way for a while but it does get better over time!
Sounds like a great workout plan! It's awesome you have such a supportive guy!
Yesterday was a lot of fun!!! Bri and I went shopping a little bit because he had some gift cards, and we found a GREAT pair of jeans for him... but he wears a 30 waist and they only had 29 or 31, so either slightly too small or big. So we didn't get them, but they looked so nice. Oh well. And there's a pet store in there that i had forgotten about so we went in and they had a rotweiler!!!! I LOVE rotweilers!!! We didn't have time to play with it yesterday but Bri promised we can back today and play with it. They had a really cute Corgi too.
Then we went snow-tubing... for like 4 and a half hours! It was a BLAST! Lots of I guess "NEAT" or whatever. We went with my sister and Bri's brother and SIL. Sooooo much fun. We went down all strung together, then kind of bob-sledded, then we would race. And oh by the way, girls against guys... we beat them EVERY time! wahahaha And the weather was PERFECT! It was not tooo cold, but cold enough that the snow didn't melt. Ah, sooo awesome. I wanna go again.
Ok, time to be a dork and play games online and then I'm gonna go play with a rotweiler!
That sounds like a cursty lunge. We did those in Alwyn Cosgrove's hands-on portion of the Perform Better 1-day seminar last year. Although we did them using Valslides. Or a reverse curtsy lunge as I'm seeing in videos online. I kind of forgot about those.
I kept reading this "crusty lunge". About five times. Couldn't figure out the significance of the name...curtsey makes more sense !
That sounds like a nice variation. I'll be sticking with regular lunges for a while, tho. Don't know why, but that's the toughest exercise for me.

Oh, that sounds so fun! You make me want to get out and play in the snow. No skiing for us this weekend, altho we'd hoped to go. My DH was still sick--this must have been the flu, because it sure wiped him out!
Anyways, glad you had fun. That's the best part about this exercise stuff--having the energy to have fun!!!

Thanks Cheryl! We did have a lot of fun.

Thanks karen It's sweet he takes the time to sit down and make programs for me. This one is going to kick my ass, but that was kind of the point! lol. I'm excited to officially start it today
Back from Day 1 of my new program To make it more tie-efficient Bri made it a push-pull program, but also put hip dominant and knee dominant on opposing days. I think I'm going to ask him to put them both on all days because otherwise I only do one leg exercise and like 4 arm ones. Anyway, here it is:
Face pulls:
10x25
8x30
8x30
6x32.5
Squats:
10x65
8x70
8x70
6x75
*some idiot(s) left the squat rack racked with an assload of weight! 3 45s on each side and some other smaller plates. I asked the nearest person if anyone was using it and he said he hadn't seen anyone on it for a while, man does that annoy the crap out of me. Especially with SO MUCH weight on it! Took me longer to take all their crap off than to do half my sets! Bah.
1-arm Bench press:
10x20
8x25
8x25
5x30
holy crap, what a core workout!
BB shoulder press:
10x25
5x45
5x45
5x45
*someone was hogging the 35lb pre-set bar, which would have been much better for the first three sets, oh well.
renegade rows (sans pushup):
10(e)xBW
10(e)x12
7(e)x12
HATE these!!!! Didn't help that the only hex DBs in the whole place are one set of PINK 12 pounders, of which one is BROKEN in half but still has the neoprene or whatever it is on it. Made these more difficult than they already are.
I hate when there's a crapload of weights left on the bar. If you can lift that much, you can clean it up... Maybe consider the reracking it it NEAT or warmup?
And yeah,... I know... Pink! ugh. They have racks of other black DBs that are round, but for the renegade rows I needed hex ones. Because when I tried with Bri the other day with round ones it was SO not happening! lol.

This is my biggest gym pet peeve ever, and one of the reasons we bought a rack and weight set for the garage.
Some asshats were leaving 100 # db's on the free weight benches yesterday. To hold their place I guess? usually I just move that stuff but I didn't want to attempt to lift those off with one arm - and one dude was hovering but not actually doing any lifting. I kind of gave him a look like "are you going to use that?" but he didn't budge. Nice!
I know, the weight thing is a pet peeve of mine when it's a lot of weight. If it's not a lot I don't usually mind, because sometimes I forget too, but sometimes I feel like people leave boatloads of weight on there on purpose to kind of say "hey I'm awesome I can lift that much... can you?" ya know? Bah.
Food today will be kind of crappy... I didn't realize I left myself with very little food to work with when I got back yesterday and since the roomie made dinner I didn't realize till I went to pack my lunch just how bad it was. All I had left that was portable was string cheese, lol. So I went to a place near here and got some peanuts, a banana to eat with my pb, orange juice, and a carrot cake bread thing which is probably a 1000 calories all by itself. And I have to go to buy lunch today too. Oh well.. once I go food shopping tonight I will be back in control of the food.
I could do that Since he's in school and may be needing a new car soon (had a run-in with an ice patch yesterday, but he's ok) I'm sure he wouldn't mind some extra moolah lol.

I REFUSE to try to move the 100# plates alone. I'm not crazy!!! Luckily they're usually only on the leg press, which I never use.
When I see someone walking away from plates still on a bar, I tend to speak up and say "You done with that?". About 50/50 on success with them realizing they left weights and removing them. Some say "oops" and do it, others just go "yeah" and keep walking away. At which point I loudly bitch about people leaving plates... (I only do this at my old gym where I'm 100% comfortable. I haven't even worked up the nerve to lift alone at the new place yet )
