Cool about the spin class - I used to go all the time at my old gym before we moved. We are thinking of joining the Y for the winter months and they have spin classes.....we'll see how that all plays out!
Somehow I missed these last 3 posts! I usually get emails when someone comments here and I didn't get emails for these... weird! Yeah I haven't checked the pumpkin lattes on the website yet... but I get the tall skinny one with no whipped cream, so it's the best of the options I guess
The spin class was ok. I would go again if my friend asked me to go with her, but I'm so not a cardio bunny so I will probably still shy away from it for the most part, lol.
Class started Monday... never did online classes before so it's definitely an adjustment. But so far so good!
Thanks girls Speaking of pictures, Ginger I LOVE your new avi! So pretty!!
Not sure how "smashing"-ly things are going in here... haven't been to the gym in a week and I went to happy hour last night and ate things I shouldn't have, lol. I have company coming this weekend, so more food choices that I have to be good about... bah humbug, lol. And getting ready for this move on top of staying up-to-date with my class is kind of crazy. Not sure how much gym time is in my future this month!
Yeah, things are hectic. I'm starting to wonder if I really need this forum or not or if it stresses me out to feel like I have to update it. Especially with the lack of workouts right now.... there's not much point in coming in here, lol. I'm going to force myself to work out today since it has been 2 weeks since I've stepped foot in a gym. I'm hoping that kind of jump-starts the motivation for me. The longer I don't go, the less I want to go back... so I need to stop that cycle as soon as I can! Hope u all are doing well, miss you guys!
Well I made myself feel slightly better yesterday and got my lazy self to the gym... exactly 2 weeks after having last been there! Oh damn am I sore today! But I think this will help me get back into the swing of things... just in time for it to all go to hell again once I move and don't have a gym right away, lol
I think I may have figured out a way to work around my busy-ness and my laziness when it comes to getting to the gym.... instead of doing a weight program right now, I'm going to use the coming month to work on my issues... lazy glutes (in more ways than one, ha!), crappy shoulder, tight hip flexors, etc. No crazy weights, no gym equipment other than what I already have... just me, some bands, a ball, and my own semi-broken and lazy body, lol. It's been a little nutty with the move and the packing and fitting reading a damn textbook for school in the mix, but I can't really use that all as an excuse either. Truth is, my motivation recently has gone POOF! Bad timing too since I LOVE fall flavors and tend to love doing a lot of baking between now and the end of the year! I'll just have to try to watch my intake...
and I'm going to try to come in here more often... I am so far behind on logs. I don't even think I'm going to try to catch all the way up... just read the last page of everyone's stuff and say hi, lol.
Sounds like a good plan. If I find myself feeling guilty about not following a program or lifting heavy all the time, then I know its time to back off.
I still always giggle about lazy glutes Its not a funny problem, just funny to say.
How do you know if you have lazy glutes? Sometimes when I am tired I tell myself I need to get off my lazy glutes and get somethings done. But I don't think that is what you are talking about.

I did this recently--and then added more strenuous stuff as I got my glutes and shoulders stabilized. Now, I am clearly gaining muscle in my glutes and they are AWAKE! and starting to really change shape. So gratifying, and it makes lifting awesome again 'cause I see such changes on a weekly basis.
Ahh... so it's been over a month since I've been in here! I moved into my new apartment and I'm finishing up my final for my first class tomorrow. We're all settled and things are starting to get back to some semblance of normalcy! I joined a gym for... get this... less than 7 dollars a month! And it's completely awesome. Oly lifting platforms, power racks (yes, plural! yay!), plenty of DBs and free weights, classes, these really cool interactive things on the bikes that make it look like you're riding on a trail... you can even race the person next to you if you "log in" to the same "game"! I had to pay for 3 yrs up front to get the 6.95 rate, but I figure it's worth it since I'm planning on staying in this area for about that long. I think it's a chain but I can't remember if anyone on here had ever talked about them... it's called Powerhouse gym. Anyway, I'm excited to get back, but it's been probably about 2 months since I did any type of actual workout so it's going to be pretty pathetic tomorrow when I make my first attempt back in there!
Anyway, just wanted to stop in and update for once. I'm hoping to be popping in here more often again
That's awesome! My gym is a Powerhouse too - I just signed 3 years at $14.95/month - which is still less than half their regular rate... Jason just got back from the annual Powerhouse convention and our gym won best overall gym for all of the Powerhouses in the country
Hope you enjoy it - do they have a good Oly trainer, since they have the platforms and stuff???
Thanks Bytsi! Good to know someone else that has a good experience with them. Don't know about the trainers yet. They do offer it, but since i haven't interacted with anyone there yet I'm not sure how good they are. I "became a fan" of them on facebook and they have some deadlift videos, I guess they do some competitions there? In my un-professional opinion though, these guys had horrible form. Yeah they pulled a crap-ton of weight, but it hurt my back just looking at it! So we shall see what happens when I go in later today....
Well, I do think in competition sometimes form can go to crap, but definitely a red flag to be careful. Part of the reason I joined our PH gym was because I'd been told Jason was there and did Oly... I also got a free session with a trainer when I joined last year, and specifically requested him, asked him to do an Oly session with me...
Not that you're necessarily even interested in Oly, but if you are...
Wow! 7 dollars a month is an awesome rate and PowerHouse sounds so much more badass than 24 Hour Fitness (so ghey). Nice AVI btw. You always are doing such cool stuff.

True Bytsi Not sure if it was competition or just hyuge freakin guys going for max lifts. I'm interested in oly, but having been out of the gym for about 2 months straight I just need to get my lazy butt back in the game first! I'll worry about oly later, though it would definitely be cool to learn.
And thanks Karla! The avi is from August, and don't be fooled, it was the 0.001 of a second that I was actually UP on the wakeboard! It was followed by a rather epic wipe-out btw!
