OK, so wow.... I knew poptarts were bad for you, but do yourealize just how TERRIBLE they are?! I left my afternoon snack at home like the goofball I am so I had to get something from the vending machine. Poptarts were best-could-do. I only ate one of the two, but for a package of poptarts it's 400 cals! and 73g of carbs! (almost all of which are sugar!) Oh my goodness. So that will throw off my cals/macros for the day, but oh man, I hadn't realized just how bad they were!
Have you ever looked at the low fat pop tarts? They are virtually identical, but have 2g less fat and save 10 calories. Wise move!

As long as they're frosted, sign me up. I can do without the sprinkles, though.

The twine's just left over from when they bundled up the tarts after harvesting, right? Big whoop!
Ah, pop tarts. I think those are native to the Colorado mountains. At least, they always seem to show up on our camping trips...Anyhow, that's why they have to be bundled in twine, for the native bearers to hike them down from the peaks.
I can resist them, though. They don't do much for me. Nutella, however, is another story entirely !
GASP! do NOT mention Nutella! I LOOOOOOOVE Nutella! Dang you Cheryl, now I want a big ol' jar of the stuff! And you're right.... SOOOOO much better than poptarts!
Forgot to post yesterday... did 2 sets of 15 of each of the following, circuit style. Was going to do 3 sets, but mom called right after set number 2, lol.
Scap pushups
Glute bridges
YTWL
BW squats with broom stick
Not for time or anything, just form/shoulder work. And I managed to NOT have an evening snack last night, so that will help the food numbers
Bri is visiting this weekend, I haven't seen him in 3 weeks so it'll be nice. And the weather is supposed to be beautiful on Saturday so we have to find some fun stuff to do. I'm making sloppy Joes tonight from the Eating for Life cookbook Then because I'm oh-so-bad I'm gonna go buy a boatload of fruit and make chocolate fondue! So me and the bf and the roomie are gonna have a fun-filled night of fruit, chocolate, and Killer Bunnies! (Anyone else ever played this game? It's so much fun!!!) And of course there will likely be tea involved
Killer bunnies is one of the most incredibly fun card games you could ever play! It's a little weird the first time you play it, but once you play it once or twice it's addicting! Brian got me the red booster pack for an early b-day present
And we found something to do in VA tomorrow that will officially screw my diet for the entire week.... the chocolate lovers festival! Holy effing crap this is going to be insanely awesome! I'm going to have a hard time tracking today's food let alone tomorrow's, but we'll see. I'm too tired to do today's food right now, but I will get to it tomorrow I think.
Just got back from the gym with Bri. I love when he comes with me, but it takes us FOREVER! lol. But I hit an amazing new PR that I would NEVER have attempted without him. Here's the workout:
Shoulder horizontal presses
(couldn't think of an actual name for them)
4x20(e) w/ 20lb DB
Curtsy lunges: (10/8/8/6)
45
55
65
75
1-arm DB BOR (10/8/8/6)
25
25
25
27.5
Sumo DL:
10x95
8x95
8x95
then 3x1x135!!!
(Epic fail on attempt number 4, lol)
Chin-ups
1xBW +2 with Bri's assistance (he doesn't help much so it's still effing hard!)
1xassistance
Wow, so the chocolate festival was AWESOME! I only spent 7 dollars and I didn't eat everything I got yet. I had a cheesecake ganache trufffle, a mint chocolate truffle, a hazelnut truffle, an amaretto truffle (my favorite of the 4). I also had a free sample of mcdonalds new hot mocha drink.. very good actually! I was surprised! I had little bites of some of Brian's things too, a choc covered graham cracker that was amazing and dark chocolate with orange zest in it from teh "healthy chocolate" vendor. I still have a peanut butter filled chocolate covered oreo, a coconut truffle and carrot cake waiting for me. (The carrot cake is obviously not chocolate, but I figure I was gonna be chocolate-d out by the time I ate it.) Then we went to the FREE wine-tasting... had samples of three dessert wines, all of which I liked (which never happens). And now Bri is making thai food for dinner What a fantastic day.. the weather was GORGEOUS! *Sigh* SO much fun!
Yeah but it gets old when you've been doing it for 2 years out of the 3.
Today we're going to bop around DC I think. Can't be gone too long since I have some cooking to catch up on. Making Jane's taco skillet and a noodle-less lasagna recipe I found online. Then we rented "Righteous Kill" with deNiro and Pacino. Hope it's good, I don't think the reviews were too kind though. Then he's going to help me come up with a "program" for my off days so I'm being a lazy ass when I'm not at the gym. Hopefully it will help with some of my goals
And thanks for the compliments on the PR.... it's 20lbs more than I've EVER tried before, so it was intense! It's definitely a 1RM though because there's no way in hell it would go up twice in a row!
Wow - what a fun day! And congrats on that deadlift. It felt so cool to finally use the big plates
I did long distance with my husband, too. We were actually 6 hours away from each other the first 3 months we started dating! Then again after college for about a year - no fun that's for sure.
HOLY COW!! The chocolate festival day would have KILLED me. It sounds yummy though.
And WHOOT on the DeadLift!
Thanks Karla! It just about killed me too! There's no way in hell I can track that day, so it's out the window as far as I'm concerned. The rest of the weekend wasn't exactly great with respect to food either though... oh well, back on track today (kinda)

Thanks Bree! Yeah, it was sooo cool to use the big girl plates! Probably won't happen again anytime soon, too scared to try to set it up myself and then fail. But next time i'm with Bri I will definitely make a few more attempts. And yeah, the long distance thing is a royal pain, but we talk on the phone every night so it's not like we have no contact. It's not uber terrible, but it's definitely not ideal either!
So it's time to post my terrible food weekend that was oh so yummy! Friday was completely trackable even though my cals were over. Saturday there was no way to figure it all out. And Sunday was too high in cals again, but trackable... Definitely in a surplus all three days, and today's was ok cal-wise, but my protein was crap again (that small piece of carrot cake killed my macros... damn carbs... but it was the best freakin carrot cake ever! (my last remnants of the festival... and yes i know it's not chocolate, but I LOVE carrot cake!)
Friday:
Cals 2226
Fat 33%
Carbs 40%
Protein 27%
Sat??
Sunday:
Cals 2268
Fat: 47%
Carbs 34%
Pro: 19%
(plus an 8oz chai tea latte that was probably an extra 100 cals or so)
Nice workout! I am a fan of carrot cake, as well. My MIL makes the best, ever. It makes me mouth water, just thinking about it!
Sounds like you had a good weekend. I love that. What did you think of the movie? We watched it a couple of weeks ago. It was o.k. I have a new Ed Norton movie that I think we are watching today.

We actually never got around to watching the movie so I returned it yesterday. But I'll be going up to PA this coming weekend so maybe we'll rent it again and watch it there.
I'm so sleepy these past couple days! Yesterday at work I could barely keep my eyes open! I need to start going to bed earlier....
Those one-leg RDL's are crazy, Kara! You've got some INCREDIBLE balance there!! I've been doing those stinking things for MONTHS now and am only up to 55 lbs and THAT's for just a FEW reps!!
