Thanks! Yes, I received them within a week, but I also had a coupon code that gave me free express shipping, so that may be why. I have heard about issues with Beachbody shipping, but have never experienced it myself.
That's good. My order issues eventually got sorted out, but it took 3-4 months, so I have to really want something bad to take the chance and order from them again.
The title of your log caught my eye - I used to do Turbo Jam for cardio at home. I always liked Chalene. I see you switched to OPT - hopefully you like it better. I always think that the most important thing is to like what you are doing.
Just wanted to say hi and good luck with the challenge!

Eek! I don't blame you. 3-4 months is terrible! I have heard the horror stories, but have never had any issues. *knock on wood*
Thanks, Bree. I just wasn't feeling the Chalean Extreme. I like OPT so far, but I really like NROLW too! Maybe I will pick that back up after 12 weeks on OPT.

Hey...how are the ChaLEAN extreme workouts coming along?? I'm liking it so far!! I love Chalene! I can't believe how great that one lady (I forgot her name, Judy??) looks...and she's 60!!!

Yes, the 60 year old is very inspiring. If only I could look that good at 39!
I am wavering on what I'm doing for my workouts. I thought I'd like OPT better than Chalean, but now I am unsure of my commitment to working out six days a week and I am hungry all.the.time. *sigh*
I thought I can do anything for just 12 weeks and I have worked that schedule before, but yesterday and today was rough. I had 30 minutes last night to read a book after being up at 6am, working all day, getting home and cooking dinner at 6pm, getting kids in bed, logging food, planning and packing meals for today... And I stayed up LATE to do my 30 minutes of reading. Struggling with the idea of so much time spent on exercise and food when work makes me feel like I need DOWN time. And I thought OPT was a kinder, gentler program.
Yes, three days in and I'm whining already and I am not even PMSing. I think being back at work from vacation this week and not used to the calorie deficit in addition to everything else is just a big adjustment.
I haven't done OPT, but it seems like the first few days tend to be the worst. I hear you on the food and exercise time thing, and wanting down time--just hang in there for a while, ride it out, and see if it gets any easier. I bet it will.

Thanks! I think you're right. I am feeling much better today.
However, I am pretty sure I have gone over my calories. I still need to log dinner. I have decided to stick with Sparkpeople. FitDay is performing horribly for me, hanging up, slow response times. Add that to having to reenter everything I had in Sparkpeople and it's driving me bonkers. Also, I think I'm going to stick with measuring rather than weighing food with the exception of high cal stuff like peanut butter. I lost 70lbs without weighing food and am finding I'm measuring small, not over as Leigh seems to suggest most folks do. So, no problems there.
Also, I did Chalean Extreme for weight training today. I really liked this workout better than the first one I did. I was still a little sore from OPT A1, so come Saturday, I will really be feeling this! Lots of lunges, deadlifts and back work. It felt good!
I did CLX Burn Circuit 2 to the tune of 250 cals, so still technically a deficit at less than 50 calories more than my BMR? But yeah, I shouldn't go over 1400 for my current plan and desire to lose 1+lbs a week!
i like thedailyplate - i know it has other features, but all i've ever used it for was to log my meals (and i haven't been great with that since i eat almost the same thing everyday!)
hang in there - any program is going to be rough for the first week or so, especially if it involves a major reduction in carbs. and most of us try to do way too much this time of year - changes in diet, exercise, sleep, and whatever other resolutions - something's got to give!
Hi, ladies. Just wanted to check in real quick and report on week 1. Here's how my week shaped up:
M 5 Turbo Jam Cardio Party 2 - 45 min cardio
T 6 OPT A1 - approx 30 min weights
W 7 Off
H 8 Burn Circuit 2 - 38 min weights
F 9 Off
S 10 Burn Intervals - 46 min anaerobic drills with light weights, Ab Burner - 10.5 min abs
U 11 Burn Circuit 3 - 33 min weights
Avg Cals 1576/day
Down 1 lbs this morning, but was up .5 yesterday so who knows! Stay tuned.
Goals this week are to eat a bit less and follow the CLX workout schedule. I may add in extra cardio and a bit of yoga, including abs on Wednesday.
I'm not sure if this is helpful or not, but you don't have to do all the workouts on OPT if it's taking too much of your time or energy. You can cut back to 2-3 days of weights if 4 is too much and only do walking or just make an effort to go out of your way in the little stuff.

Thanks for the feedback! I was clearly being ambitious when I thought I could get in 7 workouts in 6 days. Last week went well though - 5 workouts - 3 weights and 2 cardio. Am shooting for the same this week.

Good job last week! You always have high expectations for yourself and then feel defeated when you dont get it all done. Set reasonable expectations and then you can add more later once it becomes easier to get the basic workouts in.

So today was cardio day. I did Kickin Core which is 45 minutes. Maybe 30 minutes cardio and 15 minutes abs and work with the ball and stretching. I skipped all but the first set of reps for abs. Mine are still shot from Saturday! Felt SO good to just flop over the ball and stretch 'em though. Food was good! but I haven't logged it all yet... Even so, I know I've met my goal.
This week I'm going to try to journal more on the workouts. I have so many thoughts going on in my head while doing the CLX DVDs and it's all good! I think I do so well with the DVDs because:
A. I love the timely feedback on form! Just when Chalene says, "Your arms should be here in relation to your chest", I realize my form is off! I make an adjustment and really feel the burn.
B. Encouragement! Just when I think my shoulders are going to burn and fall off, she tells me I can do JUST two more and I can! When she says, "Your legs are strong! You can go heavy!", I go heavier. Some day, I will be using 17.5 lb dumbbells for shoulder presses like her!
C. She gives encouraging feedback throughout every workout. It might not even be related to the workout, but when she says, "You've worked hard. Take care of yourself today. Eat well and drink plenty of water", I do!
D. Something about her personality "clicks" with me. I have done tons of DVDs and like some instructors more than other, but she is my favorite. I like spending however many minutes with her. Denise Austin? Hate!
E. Inspiration - The ladies in her DVDs have a shape I really admire. While I would really like to have a body like Janelle, her sister, who is very lean, I think a body as good as the 60 year old woman's would be perfectly acceptable and attainable. And the mom of 7? If she can find time to get those ripped abs, I can too.
