Default my4misfitz Training Log

So I'm starting this log to get ready for the challenge that starts Jan 5, 2009. I recently completed Stage 1 of NROLFW. I will be starting over stage 1 because I made some mistakes the first time around. Even though circumstances may prevent me from starting back on the program until the challenge starts, I am watching food intake and trying to do some working out until life calms down in Jan.

My story: I will be 40 (ACK!) on Jan 1st. I'm a mom to four kids; 1 girl (8) Boy (6), Boy (4) and Boy (22months). I was fairly thin with little effort until I married 10 years ago. Then I became fat and happy and pregnant four times over. I have four beautiful children and each little darling left me with an extra 10lbs!

I'm 5'3" and 161lbs and it's time to get back into shape, no more excuses. My ultimate goal is to be around 125ish. When I get close I'll see how things are going and adjust my goal up or down from there.

Aw Thanks! He's my little crazy man. Right now he has a scraped up nose and a black eye. All self inflicted. He's a little accident prone, no fear...

Now for the actual photos! Did I say I was horrified.
Trivia; this is the ONLY Bikini I own and I wore it on my Honeymoon 9 1/2 years ago... Looked a lot better on me then... Giving birth to four 9+ lb babies and the all you can eat buffet that I thought pregnancy was has taken it's toll. Ack! My "Baby" will be 2 at the end of Jan. No more excuses!!!

Christie, welcome.
I've realized that I'm not much of a "challenger" myself, but these boards are a wonderful, supportive place. You'll get lots of help from this community.
And you are in Seattle! I think you and I are the only two Seattlites on here.

Thanks Kate! Karen- I saw your pix from the last challenge, you made some great progress. Glad to be joining you for this one!

I'm happy to be getting started. I might revamp my program a bit though. I've been reading all over this forum about how NROLFW is not a weight loss program. And while I'd like to be nice and buff when this is all over, I'm thinking maybe I should explore more of a fat loss program before I embark on the NROLFW program again. When I have some more time later tonight I'll do some reading on Leigh's OPT program. Seems like there have been lots of successful people on that program. Open to suggestions if anyone would like to chime in.

I lost 30 pounds doing NROL4W, but I also low-carbed it via TNT diet as well.

I agree with Jane that it's possible to lose weight on NROL4W if you can do the program in a deficit. I found that really hard to do because the workouts seemed to make me hungrier.

I experienced that when I did Stage 1. I felt good and strong but hungry too. I've decided to go with OPT to try to get the weight down and then eventually I'll hit the NROLFW again. I downloaded Leigh's stuff today. A lot to go through but I'm OPTimistic!!

Hey, good luck on OPT--I also lost quite a bit of weight on NROL4W, but I think that many had the same issue. You can always come back to it.

So I made some progress last month. Didn't see much change for Feb, but lost 8lbs in 1 month. I'm not sure my measurements are entirely accurate (I'm doing them myself) it would appear that I'm doing well on that front.
For the last couple months I've felt terrible. My doctor thought it was hypotyroidism, but my thyroid test came back fine. My vitamin D was very low. I've been treating that for two weeks and starting to feel better. More energy, less depressed. I'm sure the change in seasons will help as well.

Starting Stats for 1/4/09 3/1/09

Age: 40 / 40
Height: 5'3 / 5'3"
Weight 162Lbs / 154 -8lbs
Neck: 14" / 13 3/4" -.25 in
Chest (under armpits): 40 1/2" / 38 3/4" -1.75 in
Chest (at the nipples): 44" / 43" -1 in
Chest (under bust): 37" / 37" same
Waist: 38" / 36 1/2" - 1.50 in
Belly Button: 39" / 37 -2 inch
Hips: 39 1/2" / 38 -1.5 inch
Right Bicep: 12 3/4" / 11 3/4 -1 inch
Left Bicep: 12 1/2" / 11 1/2 - 1 inch
Right Thigh: 22 1/2" / 21 - 1.50 inch
Left Thigh: 22 1/2" / 20 3/4 - 1.75 inch
Right Calf: 14 3/4" / 14 1/2 - .25 inch
Left Calf: 14 1/2" / 14 -.25 inch
