Too funny, because I was considering doing it today as my workout. You're supposed to say it was tons of fun!

Well, I'm glad I stopped in here--quite entertaining.

I had FURRY wallpaper from the 1940's in my first house and took it down immediately! I later saw the same stuff in a Marx brothers movie. We have been in our current house for 5 years and I am still waiting to finish remodeling. We cleverly remodeled everything except the master bedroom, and 5 years later, we still have the nasty aluminum sliders that let in all manner of weird smells when the gardeners come. And, it's the coldest room in the winter and hottest in the summer. But, hey, at least the kids live in civilization.

LOL on the running barefoot. So glad I understand why Diane has so many kids now. Wasn't there an olympic runner who ran barefoot? A south african?

Anyway, thanks for the hello and hello back!

Nice edit...I did it today with some modifications...
First, I looked at the treadmill and thought, no way am I running today. So, for the first 200m run, I jumped back and forth over a weight bench for 30seconds. For the second 200m run, I did mountain climbers for 30seconds. It totally wiped me out! Oh, and I only made it through three rounds.

Howdy! Furry wallpaper??? If it's what I'm thinking it is, is that kind of 'crushed velvet' feel? And LOL at seeing it in a Marx Brothers movie. My mom used to have this curio cabinet. I'm not sure if that's what it was, but it was pretty fug. Then we noticed that the Brady Bunch had it too! lololol

Mountain climbers are hard! I was ready to quit in 3 rounds.

Good job with the modifications.

I think we used to have some kind of crushed velvet wallpaper, although maybe I'm remembering a friend's house because I can't place what room it would have been in.

Zola Budd was the barefoot runner. She collided with somebody else during the 1984 Olympics in LA. It's sort of sad that I know that weird piece of trivia!

Yes, they are really hard. It seems like they shouldn't be that bad, but dang!

Thanks for mentioning Zola Budd; it brought back a funny memory of one of BFs old bands. They were called Zola Budd after her. Not too many people caught the reference.

As much as I like the idea of KBs I'm always thinking I'd launch one through the window, or the television. Even with the power blocks that I use I tap the ceiling on one-armed dumbbell snatches (low ceiling). I think I'd be dangerous with a kettle ball.

Hey! I haven't gone AWOL or anything! We finished the bathroom over the weekend and then I had some work to get caught up on. I am also in dire need of cleaning my house, so I'm getting my NEAT in while attempting to make my house neat!

I'll catch up with my log and everyone else's soon!

Yes, it was velvet raised designs with gold background. The funniest thing about it was that it was not a grand house at all---a 1947 tract home in a working class area with Fancy Velvet Wallpaper in the tiny dining area. In the Marx Bros movie it was in the ballroom!

Anyway, I'm supposed to be cleaning too. Must...get...off...computer... .now!!

I think we had some of it in our dining room back in the early 70s. I remember it being some gold and black paisley print or something. God, that was fug! And of all the things to remember from my youth! Guess I couldn't get the image out of my head!

You'll get there! I wish KBs weren't so pricey! I'd love to get some lighter ones since there's so much you can do with them.

Heh! I feel that way with swinging DBs! Although, I wouldn't mind if it hit someone who didn't re-rack their weights

Ha! Maybe the previous owners wanted to pretend they had a grand ballroom!

I did get my cleaning done. I ignore my office because it just looks the same a few days later.
______________________________ __________

Friday, I just walked with my friend in the morning. It was the man's bday, so we went out to eat. I've noticed that a lot of restaurants are using agave juice in their margaritas. I must search out this juice, but need to find out how much they use in a margie.

Yesterday, worked out at home. I did 2/rounds of:

21 total lunges
21 pull ups (jumping negatives in my case)
21 squats
21 dips
21 push-ups

That took about 20 minutes so I did some other stuff, which did included some mountain climbers. I like to ignore the burpees.

Today we did: (Christina, you'll LOVE this one!)

50 sumo deadlifts
21 push press
50 sumos
18 push press
50 sumos
15 push press
50 sumos
12 push press

My partner used my kb and I used a 24# body bar, which was plenty! I did the push press with 15# db. Then, I did a slow walk for 10 minutes.

TBL is in two parts this week. I guess because it's Obama is on tonight? He better not run over. I need to see why boyfriend Bob is crying this week.

BTW, I haven't seen sock boy lately. Maybe they told him to put on his shoes and he never came back? lol

Thanks...but now my interior decorator (aka my husband) thinks we need a different mirror. But at least the bathroom is functioning!

This morning my weight has been at it's lowest in a while! Of course I just jinxed myself. I just may have to use this as my official number if I can't eek anymore loss by Moanday.

I didn't workout yesterday as I was so sore from the previous days workout. I did not want to do anything that involved a frickin' squat, push-up, shoulder work, whatever.

I did a WOD called "Michael"

3 rounds:

Run 800m (I mostly ran, but walked in a few parts. Have I mentioned I hate running?)
50 situps
50 back extensions

Then I walked for 15 minutes on the Hill program at a SS.

Gotta jump in the shower and then go to my 2nd home (the grocery store). It's supposed to be 88* today. I know you snow people wish it was like that where you are, but it's too early for this shit!

I love both of those workouts! I haven't looked at the WOD today, but I might not need to now...that first one is totally doable in the cardio room here at work. Although for the lunges, I might do walking lunges on the treadmill at an angle for 1 minute...Just because I like the pain it causes? Oh, and tricep pushups instead of dips. Much worse feeling than dips.

Where the heck are you? I'm in Southern California and it's cold here. Now that I looked at the temp I realized it's actually 63 outside, so I feel stupid writing that, but it is very gray and it LOOKS cold out there. Ahem. Anyway. We went to the mountains yesterday and there was snow so I'm feeling pretty wintery. But it will not get up to 88 today.

On the Agave--you can get Agave syrup at Trader Joe's. We use it in Margaritas, you just have to experiment--give it a squirt, taste, more squirts as necessary. We use a mix of lemon, lime, and orange juice with the Agave. Delish!

Hmmm...I'll have to try the walking lunge on a treadmill. Is it easy to keep your balance? I modified that one because it was actually ring dips and hand stand push-ups.

You can have it! I know what's in store for us in the coming months, so I like the heat to hold off as long as possible! I shouldn't have to be running my A/C in February!!!!

I'm in San Antonio. I'm a former Orange County girl (all my family and husband's family are So CA). My parents live in San Juan Capo. Can't beat the weather there, that's for sure!

We don't have Trader Joe's here, but I'm sure they'll have it at Whole Foods or Central Market (a TX store). I forgot to look for it today at the grocery store in the Natural Foods section.

Thanks for the tip! I was wondering how much to use. I make my margies from fresh limes and lemons also. Now if my lemon and lime trees would cooperate and actually give me more than 4 fruit, I'd be in margarita heaven!

I have a hard time keeping my balance. I end up holding onto the handles when doing these; also keep the TM at a pretty slow pace--I've almost fell off the end when going to fast once...
I can't quite do ring dips or handstand push-ups yet, so I'd have made similar modifications anyway. Off to go try it out now...

Do not tap on glass! What would you do it if broke?
LOL!

The less I see my pictures, the better! So here are my stats instead:

As I mentioned, I've been pretty much eating the Zone way for the past couple of weeks. I had my most dramatic loss this past week, 2.6 #. And I've had my cheats here and there. I've found that I'm not as hungry anymore so maybe there is something to that 40-30-30 balance at every meal (or close to it).

Last Friday's workout was 10 rounds of: 10 box jumps, 10 burpees (regular, not with the push-ups), and 10 push-ups. Burpees aren't remotely half as bad when you don't throw a push up in the movement.

Did I just say that???

This has made a big difference for me, too--I did Atkins for so many years I was used to heavy protein. Upped my carbs and fat, and it made a huge difference. Now I'm kind of doing a higher fat version of body for life eating--palm/fist portions--that low fat didn't agree with me. Anyway, hi and congrats on the loss!

Woohoo Shelly! So glad to hear that you're liking the Zone plan and that it's obviously working for you!

No weird gym stories to share... sorry. Well, unless I mention the woman who came in the other day just to weight herself and then left again.... saying she'd be back later to work out. I just don't get people sometimes!

"As far as (healthy) eating, either do it, or don't. Same issues repeated over and over is just insanity. We either commit to the endeavor or pay lip-service to it. This is the hardest part of the whole process, and it needs to be practiced more than the actual physical training. It's mind training." ~ Matt Thorne

"The reason that most people fail instead of succeed is that they trade what they want most for what they want at the moment."
