Howdy! Sorry I've been missing lately, but I've been in an antihistamine coma that past few days. The mountain cedar that blows down from the Hill Country came in really strong over the weekend and I've been in misery. It's been non-stop sneezing, stuffed up nose, and watery eyes for days. My eyes are so red and puffy that I look like I've been crying. Just one of the many joys of living in Tejas! Hopefully, this was the worst of it. It should be out of here in a few weeks.
Meanwhile, I have done NOTHING this week. No workouts and haven't been tracking. On top of that, my favorite aunt should be showing up any day now. Pity Party for one!

How do you like your foam roller? I'm really loving mine.
I don't know how I've lived without one for so long! I tell everyone they need to get one.

Glad to hear that the scale is moving and that you are liking OPT so far... keep up the good work! I bought the Jillian Michaels book last year and have yet to actually try any of the workouts in it... after seeing them in print in your log, I think that is a smart decision on my part LOL!

43 and fabulous!
I think any Vicky that's on a TV show ends up being vile. There's Vicky on "The Fairly Odd Parents", Vicky on "The Real Housewives of Orange County", and then Vicky on "TBL".
Yeah, her workouts are tough! No wonder she makes people cry and puke all the time!

Sometimes I don't hear him. However, he does these little snores as he breathes in. It's like water torture or something. I had to whack him a few times last night and then I started sneezing and had to get up and take another Benadryl. LOL

So I had a dream the other night that I was in San Antonio. You were there. That's all I remember.
We have a fan running too! Did you go to the basement of the Alamo?

I did too! Carla's gonna cut a bitch one day. I'm waiting for her obvious wig to fall off.

Anyway, hopefully I can get back into things. Right now, I just don't have any energy.
I will try and catch up on logs this weekend. I've got to get my payroll taxes done and out of here, so don't have time to read through them all right now.
Sorry about the allergies. I know that I suffer with them in the spring and the fall, although sometimes I feel that they're year 'round (as I'm also allergic to dust). At times I know they suck a lot of the energy out of you. Hope the season is over soon and you get some relief.

Sounds like you need one! Can't you count this as an official rest week or something? I haven't gotten to the theory of rest weeks in my own workouts, yet, but I keep seeing mentions of them in others' logs.
In my house, this is when we start scheduling mommy down-time. I retreat to my room (or the bathtub...) with a smelly candle, a good book, and a heating pad. Or no heating pad, if I'm in the tub . Last night, I polished off reading The Penderwicks. If you ever need a good read--one that's not too long, not depressing, and makes you feel all warm and fuzzy--it's the perfect book. It's a kid's book, which is mostly what i read these days. I tell people that's because I write for kids, but really, it's just that I have a really hard time putting a book down at night, and this way I don't stay up the WHOLE night, only part of the night.

Hang in there and take care of yourself. Sounds like you need a break!

Thanks everyone! Hopefully, the front that came down yesterday knocked the rest of that crap off the trees. To give you an example of how bad it is, if you whack a cedar branch, you look like you're in a cloud of smoke. I think the worst of it was last week (fingers crossed)!
So now we come to that time in the week of "What plan will Shelly do this week?". LOL, I'm totally trying to find my way and am kind of embarrassed, but I realized that I terribly missed working out with my partner. Much more motivating to me and gets my ass in the gym. We're just shaking things up, doing a little bit of this and that. I told her that I do want to do strength training twice a week. I also found this website to zig zag my calories. I like doing that and success on WW doing that via the Wendie plan.
So Monday I walked on the dreadmill for 30 minutes at SS and then did thrusters. Maxed out at 65#. I can go higher, but my parnter wasn't working out with me that day as I had to leave early, so didn't have a spotter.
Tuesday we did a Jillian will kill me workout, which was:
20 scorpion pushups
10 DB flys on body ball with crunches
20-12-8 leg extensions
jump squats to failure
20 decline db press
15 V Cable flys
20 squat thrusts
20 side lunges
close grip pushups to failure
plank ups to failure
jump squats to failure
one leg squats 10 each side
8 military shoulder press
15 wood choppers each side
10 knee tuck jumps
10 each side static lunge with lateral should raise
10 reverse crunches
10 hanging abs with twist
30 second sprints, 30 min rest -- 5 over 5 minutes
Women are supposed to do those sprints at 9 mph. Um, no. I did them at 7 mph cuz I felt like I was gonna go flying off the damn thing!
Today we did squats. O/H, Back, and Front. Been awhile since I've done these, but I was pleased with the O/H squats. I was doing 5 reps and got up to 65#. I think I could have gone to 70 as I was feeling it, but I had already done a bunch of them. Back squats max was 125 and front 115. Then I walked for 20 minutes.
And now I'm hoping if I close my eyes all the paper that's surrounding me will disappear when I open them again.
Shelley, glad you're feeling better. I'm sure your workout partner is glad to have you back, too. Sorry the paper didn't disappear .

Nice workouts, of course! As always!
Thanks. The paper for the most part disappeared yesterday. I finally got everything caught up for the most part.

From what I've heard, squats are easier for shorter people (I'm 5'3"). Don't know if that's really true or not, but I've got a lot of flexibility and I can get down really low. I've always had strong legs, but wish mine looked like my partners--long and lean with great muscle tone!

Her workouts certainly rival any CF workout! Most you can do at home if you have some dumbbells, but some do require certain machines.
40 air squats
2 min run
20 shoulder presses
10 burpees
4 min run
10 burpees
20 shoulder presses
2 min run
40 air squats
That didn't take to long, so I did a SS walk on random for 20 minutes afterwards.
So...not happy with the way January went, but I've got no one to blame but myself. I did a lot of sitting around with all my year end stuff that needed to be done. Since that's out of the way for the most part, I have no excuses.
And since my pictures don't lie, off to move my ass! Will catch up on the logs later
There's an iPhone app that gives you a daily CF style workout, so I pulled one from there today (worked out at home). Also, for all you iPhone users, check out the free app called Lose It. It's pretty good. I haven't played around with it much, but it looks decent and lets you put in custom foods and recipes from what I can tell.
Today's workout:
5/rounds (supposed to be 10, but I did 5)
!0 broad jumps (these are FUN!)
10 lunges
5 pull-ups (was supposed to be knees to elbows, but I felt like pull-ups instead and mine were jumping with negatives on the way down
Then I did 35# kb swings 5 rounds, 10 reps and finished with 50 bicycle crunches.
I will still be zig-zagging my calories. They will go like this:
Sunday 1360
Monday 1360
Tuesday 1497
Wednesday 1360
Thursday 1632
Friday 1360
Saturday 1768 (can you say margarita?)
Will try to stay 40-30-30 as much as possible. This is my plan and I'm sticking to it!!!
Have my annual with the hoo-hoo doctor today. Why in God's name have they not come up with a less invasive test for the Pap smear by now????

LOL I went last week and found out that I only need a pap every three years because I hit some new criteria - something like over 30 yo, 3 normal paps 3 years in a row, then a "special" (more expensive) pap. If that one comes back normal, you only have to have one every 3 years. Well, if I had known that, I wouldn't have been there!
Workouts are looking great in here! Glad to hear the pollen thing is better!

I've met that criteria and I didn't hear about this 3 year test! Not fair!!!
So, after yesterday's official weigh in for the challenge, I'm down 2 pounds. Figures.
Holy deadlifts! And hey, a loss is a loss no matter when it happens, but yeah that is totally something that would happen to me. I told myself I wasn't going to weigh this week after my splurge this weekend, but then "logic" would tell me I would have lost 3 pounds because of it. Maybe I should weigh?

Ooh, looks cool. I just downloaded it to my iPhone and will play with it later. Of course, I have Calorie King here on my computer that I already use for tracking but, hey, the Lose It was free, right? Now if they could just make these crazy things mesh and merge with each other...
Down 2 lbs!!! Just think how awesome Feb stats will look!
Nice PR strong girl!!!!
Thanks! Now if I can only be consistent with tracking!

I hear you! Although, today I was up a pound, but yesterday was a higher calorie day and I was drinking some water before bed. Stupid scale.

Nice!!
I have CK for the computer also. The one thing I like about it is the fact that there are very few custom foods I have to put in. That's one reason I haven't played around with the app is because I'm too lazy to put in foods. The one thing I noticed, though, was when I said I wanted to lose 2 pounds a week, it had me at 1000 something calories. I can't remember if I gave it a specific goal date or not. But for a free app, it looks pretty good. I wish CK had a phone app!
Today's workout was 150 wall ball shots with 10# ball. I'm sure the dentist office on the other side of the wall was wondering WTF that banging noise was! Afterwards, I hopped on the recumbent bike for 20 minutes and watched Frasier. I love that show!

Too funny! I can only imagine what they were thinking!!
I love wallball! It's by far one of my most favorite CF workouts (which I've been slacking on this week...eek!). Too funny about the dentist office though.
