I got my foam roller online, but I have a friend who wants one so we might check out Dick's and see what they sell...
I can NEVER leave Target with just what I came in for!
Thanks for the tip, Jane. Bytsi, I just checked Dick's online (that just sounds wrong! LOL) and they have a bunch of them. There are two of them buy me and one of them is right by my gym, so I'll pick on up next time I go.
I hear ya on Target! Mine's a Super Target, so even if I'm going just for food, I find myself wandering over to the other sections.
Also, I have been so inspired by jenofthemountain's success on OPT and have really been wanting to try it because of how well she did on it, but was reluctant to give up CF. I understand that OPT is geared towards a specific exercises, and well, that's the direction I'm headed now. My partner understood. We won't be working out together, but we'll still meet up at the gym at the same time.
Aw shucks...
One thing I've learned from doing OPT, is that you don't need to kill yourself in the gym to lose the weight. I've been quite please with the muscles I've managed to retain during OPT, and I am in the final phase of my 3rd round! It really truly about 95%+ about diet.

Anyways good luck!
Thanks!
I'll tell ya, it's been a long time since I've done that type of workout and I am feeling it this morning.
Nice workout! I got my foam roller at Target - just the GoFit brand. I agree with Jane that I would like it to be longer, but I just got it to get started with rolling and I may get a longer one someday.
The Super Target we go to is literally 4 blocks away. Some weekends I am there everyday!

Yeah, ideally, I'd like a longer one, too. But, I am in a place with almost no options and the Target one fits the bill for what I use it for and didn't include shipping costs.
Hi, I'm a fellow challenger and I'm SLOWLY getting through some logs. I love your sense of humor!
I got my foam roller (and it's a long one) at a medical supply store, you might check that out.
LOL about getting out of Target for less than $50, it's more like $100 for me (Costco too).
Good luck with your workout change, I'll be watching with interest!
Nice! So, you are doing OPT? I think you'll do great. I also got my foam roller at Target. We have a Dick's right next to my gym and sometimes it kills me. I walk out of the gym feeling good or they have all their clearance ranks out on the side walk. LOL I am much better at the resistance than I used to be. Boy, I just went off on a Dick's tangent, huh?

I just got this same roller! I'm in love with it. I think my DH's getting jealous ...I LOVE the way it loosens up my muscles. Did I read somewhere that foam rolling can be used to warm up your muscles? Or is it more to stretch/loosen up after exercise?

I have the same question. I've been doing it after I workout but I see some people do it first. Which is better? Or does it matter? If you do it first, do you do any type of movement to get the blood flowing first? TIA!

Ha! Thanks! Oh, yeah...Costco is definitely the $100 club. It's a good thing the one by me is not just around the corner like Target is or my house would be stuffed with 8 gazillion products I don't need.

I picked up the foam roller today and got the longest one they had. It's made by GoFit. Kinda pricy, but whatevs.
I'm glad I made the switch to OPT. I was telling my partner this morning that I think it was just what I needed for now. I haven't hit my macros exactly, but they are close enough and not way off, so I can be happy with that. I also noticed that my pants are fitting looser (!), so I broke down and hopped on the scale and it finally moved down!

I have to say that I love my Costco. Of course, I only buy things on the list, and never taste anything in the store. I'm not going to talk about the extra toilet paper I came home with the other day because it was ~$4 off.
Oh, and here's to the lower weights continuing....
We are members of both Costco AND BJ's Club - so both of those are definately the $100++++ clubs!! (Costco has a MUCH better selection of frozen fish than BJ's!)

Oooh, the free sample days! That can become a meal!

We don't have BJ's. We also have Sam's Club, but I like Costco better

Good job making the decision to switch workout styles and do what's right for you, AND on the scale progression!

Man, I'm such trailer trash with my gutter-minded remarks, I have trouble controlling myself some days.
I'm really happy with my decision right now. I don't think my partner is too convinced I made the right one, but is supportive.
I've stuck with the workouts and the eating. Got a little side tracked yesterday and was feeling really bloated, despite how much I drank of water, tea, and coffee.
I will be very happy when the cedar pollen leaves. Good God, it's annoying and this year isn't even that bad. So here I was all looking forward to sleeping in this morning. Hubby rolls into bed around 6 (after falling asleep on the couch) and immediately starts snoring. I get up to pee and the sneezing begins. *sigh* kill me now!
Hi Shelly! Hey... call me a loser. I somehow have missed subscribing to your log even though you have left comments in mine... duh. We Biggest Loser Vicky-hating and Bob-loving fans have to stick together, after all!
Glad to hear that the scale is moving and that you are liking OPT so far... keep up the good work! I bought the Jillian Michaels book last year and have yet to actually try any of the workouts in it... after seeing them in print in your log, I think that is a smart decision on my part LOL!

Oops... and I forgot to mention that we're both 43, too!
