Thanks! And she knows it too!

Ed, you big dumb oaf! If you didn't throw your weigh in, Vicki would have probably been below the yellow line! I'm convinced this woman sold her soul!

It was just sleeting here for a few minutes. Crazy!

Hi there! I was reading your log over the weekend and I was sure I commented but I guess not. Just wanted to say welcome! I am so happy I found this board. It has been 100% the reason for my success.

Your workouts look awesome. The crossfit stuff always looks killer and very cool you have a workout buddy. One of my fitness freak friends is going to be joining my gym soon, so I am very excited to work out with her again.

Sorry about the snoring - luckily my DH doesn't snore...yet...but my Dad did. It was insane - I always dreaded staying in hotels with my parents because I would never get any sleep! He has one of those mouth piece thingy's from the dentist I believe, so its much better now.

Ha ha!! "Yet" is right! Just don't let him gain any weight, lol!! I can identify with the hotel/parents thing, also. I have vivid memories of sleeping in a hotel bathtub to escape my parents' nighttime noises!

Heh--sometimes I think I married my father, but he definitely has my husband beat in the snoring department!

I'm usually leery of buying 'As Seen On TV" products AKA Billy Mays yelling at you, but I picked up one of those Perfect Pull-Up contraptions. It's not bad at all. I can't do them (YET!), but wanted to be able to practice them. Of course, my beanpole 16 year old son can whip a few out with no problem. His arm strength must come from all the texting he does~

Yesterday was a rest day and I finally got all my filing done for the most part.

Today's WOD: This is one that doesn't bad on paper and then when you've finished you're all, 'it sucked!'

Wall ball shots 12#
DB swings 30#
Jump Rope
Box Jumps (I do more step ups as I'm not comfortable jumping up a bench. I keep thinking I'm going to miss because of the narrowness)
Sit ups
Push ups

1st round was 40 reps, 2nd was 30, 3rd was 20. I finished in 24:30. I'm glad we didn't throw in a 10 rep round and I'm glad I remembered to bring my water with me!

My coach highly recommended the Perfect Pull-up and I recommended it to several here on JP's and I think everyone really likes it so far.

It really is a great product. And to think there's this little metal safety thing that you stick between the wall and door moulding that prevents your from falling on your ass!

We were supposed to do strength training yesterday, but I blew it off. I had to much to do in the a.m. (I work from home) before I had to go to my husband's office for the research study he's doing that he kindly volunteered me to be the verifier for in the afternoon. I didn't get a chance to do anything on my own yesterday, so will try to make that up today.

I have GOT to up my water intake! I'm not great at drinking it in the first place, but when it's not 8 gazillion degrees out, I'm even more lax about it.

I love my pull-up bar, too, even though DH and my son can do a lot more than I can. Here's the secret to making sure it's not going to collapse when you put it together and put it in the doorway: make someone else try the first few . I put it together and then had my husband test it out first. I figured if it stays up through him actually doing the pull-ups then it will stay up for my assisted pull-ups.

It's a lot harder to drink water in the cold than in summer for me, too. It's about 15 degrees right now and the high is going to be 0 the rest of the week. I already know this is going to make my skin dry out and my cheeks red/inflamed so I'm trying to increase water, but really, who's thirsty when it's that cold???

Your workouts are looking great!

I have to second the love of the pull-up bar! I don't have the Perfect Pullup thingies, but we stuck a bar in the doorway of our schoolroom/living room and we're always just doing a few just because it's there.

I have the same problem when it's cold out. I already drink about 12 cups of water a day, but I hate being cold, so it's more of a struggle. I drink lots of herbal tea!

LOL--I made my husband test it out first too! Since he didn't pull the whole door frame down, I figured I was good to go!

It's so funny, because I grew up in the snow belt area of Ohio, but moved to CA when I was 17 and have lived in warm states since. Somewhere along the line, I became tropical because if it's 60 out, I'm freezing and in something long sleeved!

I just need to make a mental note to drink more of it.

So today was a Perfect Pull Up and Kettlebell (35lb) workout. I did jumping pull-ups, push-ups, dips, and sit ups with that thing. It was awesome. I really liked it for push-ups. My problem with regular push-ups is keeping my back straight and doing a full one as it is. I felt this really helped me keep my back straight. Best $30 I've spent in a long time! I did all this while watching a biography on Scott Baio! lol

CM--If I leave it up, we all walk by it and do one. It's great!

I've gotten better at jump roping. It's amazing what was so easy as a child is harder as an adult! I started off only being able to do just the skip, but now can do it normally for about a minute without stopping.

Today we worked on squats.

Overhead squats
3x55
3x65
3x65

Back Squats
3x105
3x115
3x125 PR

Front Squats
3x105
3x110
3x115 PR that was pushing it though

Then I just walked on the treadmill for about 10 minutes.

Now I get to go do the office workout, which is filing all the paper I've piled everywhere *sigh*. I swear, my paper procreates while I sleep.
Just wanted to comment on your overhead squats. VERY impressive! Those are really tough.

My paper procreates too. I never see the top of the desk. It's a constant battle at my house.

It's tough for me too. I've been heating up my water and drinking it like hot tea otherwise, I'm freezing all the time. It was kinds weird at first but now I like it.

Thanks! The 65# was definitely the limit. We need to do more of those. We kind of got away from them as my partner isn't as flexible as I am, but she's improved.

I didn't get to work out this a.m. as I had to go to my husbands office. It is freezing out right now...well, freezing for us. The wind is really biting and then Thursday it's going to be in the 80s. I'm just waiting to get sick from all this up and down weather.

I definitely feel better when I drink water...less bloating, etc. I didn't bother to weigh myself yesterday as I knew I probably wouldn't like what the scale would say and didn't want to be in a bad mood. I've got two parties to go to this weekend, so I think I will just take it day by day until the challenge starts. I'm also waiting to see Leigh's revamped FLTS and OPT will look like!

TMI question...when y'all measure your chest, do you measure under the girls or over? With a bra or not? The reason I'm asking is, at least for me, is when my favorite aunt is in town, there can be a big fluctuation.

I used to measure with a bra, over the girls. I changed a while back because I wasn't sure that the bra wasn't changing that number. So now I do under, a chest measurement. It seems less likely to fluctuate.

Yeah, I guess it could depend too on the type of bra you were wearing. I will do both.

So this morning a lady at the gym told me that she definitely sees a difference in me. I've never talked to her before, just a hello in passing. She and her husband were gone for a while and just recently came back to Texas. Now, my weight has not changed one iota except for the same damn gain/loss of 5 pounds. My partner told someone else mentioned the same thing to her also. Phew! It's nice to know that my torturous workouts have been doing something, cuz I don't see it physically at all, except in my arms.

This week we're just focusing on doing cardio and did some spinning for 40-45 minutes. I've never taken a spinning class and my partner was the instructor. I really enjoyed it! Much more than the dreadmill.

Although, I think the seat may have violated me a few times LOL

Oops! I need to learn how to read. I don't have the Perfect Pullup. I have the Ironman Gym. Still a great product, though.

Yeah! Especially, when you don't think anything has changed. Now, I just need to reign in the eating side. *sigh*

Thanks. My partner will be gone for 2 weeks over the school break. I'm thinking of taking a week off. It's been a long time since I've done that.

Every time I see that commercial for Pure Sleep with the snoring in the beginning, I totally crack up! Santa needs to sneak that into the man's stocking!

Today was just the dreadmill. I did hill intervals for 30 minutes. It wasn't bad. One of the TVs on the wall was tuned into a local morning show that was showcasing some restaurants around town. I was ready for dinner by the time I was done.

I call it the dreadmill, too. I lurve running outside and would if it wasn't currently zero degrees here.

I got a random compliment from a co-worker this week. It's strange how when I look in the mirror I don't see much difference and hone in on the places I hate the most. But I think its reassuring to get a compliment that your hard work is paying off even though you don't feel it sometimes.

I am planning a week off next week too...well at least a couple days of no lifting anyway I will be out of town so no gym. My parents have some dumbbells that I might try to get creative with while I am there, or see if my crazy weightlifting obsessed brother wants to go to a local gym with me.

Ugh...had two parties this weekend and I'm feeling it. I am planning a non-workout week for this week and will lay low eating wise.

I'm anxiously awaiting Leigh's relaunch!

Enjoy your break week.

I am really looking forward to Leigh's relaunch, too, and the Body By Eats thing especially because I always love trying new recipes. Only a few more days now . . .

I hope everyone had a nice holiday.

So as of today, I have NO EXCUSE to eat crap anymore. My clothes are snug (so much for my excuse of staying home and not having to worry about the constant eating) and I feel like a slug. I've taken a little more than a week off from working out and it's time to get back into that or I'll just keep blowing that off.

In other words, I want to be like Valerie Bertinelli and not have to make losing weight my New Year's Resolution every year (minus the Jenny Craig food).

On a side note, hubby is going to the gym morning! The first time in many, many, months! My workout partner is gone until the 5th, so I'll just workout at home as soon as he leaves.

The battery on my Polar is starting to go. I'm gonna have to send it out to get it replaced since I read if you try to do it yourself, it's nearly impossible to get the water seal on correctly. It's not too expensive, so need to do that soon. I am very interested in the Gowear Fit thing, but I think wearing that armband would really bug me, not to mention the interesting tan line I'd get from it!
