For new people just joining,....I urge you to PRACTICE posting pics before the posting deadline of January 5 so you won't be scrambling at the last minute.
1. You need to host your pictures somewhere. This can be your own webhost or website, if you have it. The majority of people use Flickr, Photobucket, Picturetrail or many others that serve this purpose.
3. OK, now you are ready to post your pics. Click on the little yellow box you see on top next to the earth with the paperclip. It will pop up a box and ask you for the URL of your PIC. You've got it copied. So now just do CTRL V and copy it in that box. OK, now it's posted. Continue to do this until all your pics are posted.
I followed these instructions but it didn't work - I just got a little white box with a red X through it. I was able to post them on another site with no problem, though. I'm wondering if they are too big? How do I resize them?
Can you post the link that you are pasting in? That might help us troubleshoot. So far I haven't seen an issue with size, usually with a link to a website page rather than the actual image. For example the following link works:

See the difference? It needs to be a link to the raw picture.
Update: I figured out why the pictures weren't showing up (there was some extra stuff in the IMG tag from Photobucket) but still can't get them to post side by side.
When I add one picture, it takes up the whole post box; when I insert the next one, it replaces the first.
ETA: Another update - I've got them side by side by they're HUGE. I'm trying to resize them in Photobucket but they look the same regardless (I am replacing the resized ones for the original, then copying the image tags). Any ideas?

So does anyone have a problem if I sign up by proxy for a friend of mine? Her name is Summer, I've been taking her to the gym and she's been doing NROL4W. We took pics this morning and she registered, etc, BUT never got the confirmation email. I checked that she entered the right address, I checked her spam box and filter, etc etc etc, and still no email, so though she's registered, she can't post. She just registered under a different username with her mom's email address just in case there was a problem there, but still no confirmation email. Anyway, I can post her stats and pics, so how about it? Thanks!

Celeste, I didn't get an email confirmation when I first signed up either. I don't know if JP has to personally do each one or what, but I emailed again and got a confirmation. You can always PM him the information through your account. Maybe something got messed up in the server switch/update/whatever it is.
I say go ahead and post for her for now since I find that to be an allowable excuse
Hee hee, I'll take it! I just want to go to bed. (Yes, it's only 7:30, but if I mess around sending more pm etc I'll NEVER get there.) I tried so many things this morning my head was spinning!

She can just post them when she gets all registered...even if it's not by midnight.

Wow, Jane, thanks. I know it's a pain sometimes letting in stragglers... I appreciate it. That way she can introduce herself, etc. Well, for signup purposes, her username is coudygirl. As soon as we hear anything via email, we'll get the pics up.

I understand that and I didn't even mean that you should PM and email now, just meant that it sometimes seems to take longer than it should. I totally understand wanting to go to bed already, too, cuz I really want to go to bed and it's only 5:30 here.
I have a question not for myself as I already got my pics in.
Anyway I don't have time to find the original thread but wasn't there some discussion once upon a time for a one week grace period for people to sign up this January? Was anything decided about that? I think it could be beneficial. I could see a grace period helping those who were on the fence or more importantly newer people who don't know yet that this is a "safe" place to post. Meaning everybody is very helpful and receptive not condescending.
OK, well... I intended to be a part of the challenge, but I'm dropping out already... pretty lame, I know.
I just feel like I have too many things going on at the moment and know that this is just one more thing that I have to let go of for now.... but I'll still be working on my own and following the progress of those of you who are participating.... best of luck everyone!
"As far as (healthy) eating, either do it, or don't. Same issues repeated over and over is just insanity. We either commit to the endeavor or pay lip-service to it. This is the hardest part of the whole process, and it needs to be practiced more than the actual physical training. It's mind training." ~ Matt Thorne
"The reason that most people fail instead of succeed is that they trade what they want most for what they want at the moment."

Thanks Karen--I knew you were just giving helpful advice, not putting demands on me--we STILL haven't gotten anything, so I'm going the route you suggested. On another note, I did get to bed at 8:30 last night! I was really really exhausted!

I remember that, too, but I can't remember what thread it was in. We were voting on start dates and everyone seemed agreeable to a one-time-only extension of the deadline to January 12. Also, I read in another forum that I frequent of someone having the same problem Celeste's friend is having--being unable to get a confirmation email of their registration.

You're not the only one having trouble with registering (see my reply above). I made it to 9:00 and I was so proud of myself because I could barely keep my eyes open . Good for you for getting extra rest when you're really tired, too.
