Welcome to the video challenge thread! This is the spot for participants in the womens challenge to post video of themselves doing their favorite lifts, and showing off all of that strength.
from the youtube URL - grab the series of letters and numbers after the v=
then it goes like this in the post:
[ youtube ]sk8d7fnbd[/ youtube ] but type youtube without spaces
Good vids Wendy (even though the wind makes it tough to hear the intro). I can't remember if the tripod came with the camera, but if not, I invested in it, and have used it as well.

lol, thanks tom. I knew you would love the shirt! I bought it on drastic reduced sale at a marathon a few years back when it really didn't fit (clothing made for runners is microscopic). I knew it would fit some day!
thanks karla!
thanks ginger, hoping that others post video. we really all have made some great strength gains.
This is a great idea Wendy. I likely won't be able to get a video on here, but I do hope others post some. The video on my camera is not so good and to be honest, I get enough weird looks at the gym and don't need any more by videotaping myself, haha. If I worked out at home I would definitely think about it.
I also think this thread would be great for some form critique from others maybe more knowledgeable about that. I know I have trouble with my squats (at least I feel like I do) so if I get up the courage to video it, this thread would be a good spot to ask form questions.
Yeah! Great idea, Wendy. I'll get something up in the next week or so. If I had my frikkin squat racks.... but it may just be cleans or something until they arrive.
That was awesome! What a great idea. I'd love to participate except I do not own a video camera. I think my little quickcam does video, but it isn't exactly portable. Your intro video was cool--I'm not so brave in front of a camera--kudos! I'm looking forward to seeing others' contributions. A really fun, motivating element to add to the challenge.

A flip video camera isn't that pricey and takes decent shots (Wendy has one and so do I - our videos come out looking good enough for gym work.)

I'll have to check that out. And see if I can get away with using it inside our gym. There are signs posted saying 'no video cameras' but maybe I can get permission from my manager. Thanks for the info.

If you're at 24 hr fitness you can most likely disregard... I've had my husband film me several times in them and no one makes a peep.
Hmmm.... if you're working there, however, may be a bit trickier.
I'll definitely post something in here. I know I can't pull it off at the gym, but I can do something at home. I was looking today and my digi camera has a setting, so I think I can get something lined up. Once my camera man is able, it's a go!
I love that you started this thread and it will be SO super cool to see the ladies (or men ) of this board, showing their stuff. I am not as strong as many of the ladies, but I'll work on getting something posted.

Yeah, I am working at 24 Hour Fitness, but I can probably get away with it early in the morning or on the weekends when it isn't so busy. I have never seen anyone filming anyone ever, so not sure what the reaction would be. I just have to get someone to do the filming.
great!! I am so looking forward to everyone's videos.
and thanks to everyone for all of the positive feedback. in retrospect, should have thrown some makeup on, but oh well, guess I am really a jock girl to my core.
oh, and the flip is great--highly recommend it!!! and hoping to get critique of my form too. that will be fun!
Okay, I'm looking at the Flip. Which model do you guys have? Looks like the cheapest is $129 retail. Hopefully, I should be able to find it cheaper than that, right?
Oh wait, Tom I found your link to it on Amazon on Wendy's log. Do I need the accessories, cables, tripod, case??? Did you buy everything or just the camera. I don't want to get carried away. Maybe just the tripod...do you thinks it's a necessity?
I ordered mine from amazon at that price. tom likes the tripod. I will order it but haven't yet. I bought the case in orange to match the orange flip. mine was ready to go right out of the box. super easy. have fun!
I just bought the camera and the tripod. The camera itself will sit on a level surface, but the tripod will give it more stability (I think anyway) in case that surface is jostled in some way. It will also give you a little leeway to angle the camera up or down a little too. Is it a necessity? Probably not. But I like having one just in case. You can always just get the camera and use it, and if you feel the need for a tripod, buy one later. I can't imagine the camera being unusable without it.

Okay, well, you're too late. I bought the tripod, but not case. I figured I could find a case later if needed or something to suffice. I'm sure a tripod would be useful. Thanks--can't wait to start playing.
Great videos, Wendy! I'll have to play around with the digital camera and see if I can get videos even onto youtube, let alone figure out how to get them here. (Yes, I saw the directions Lisa posted, but sometimes it's a little more complicated than that for me to actually implement things, LOL.)
Cool. My camera should be here by next Wednesday, I'm hoping sooner. Usually Amazon overshoots the delivery date and I usually get it a few days sooner.
lol. no way tom. 1/3 (7 ounces cooked) of the lobster tail is being digested. the other 2/3 are portioned 1/3 each for future meals. and after viewing the shower vids, my friend and I decided the baby shower vids would remain private.
but tomorrow I am going to attempt AMRAP barbell bench with 85 pounds--goal is 30 by next march.
