here I am doing 3 reps of 85 on barbell bench. after that I did 30 reps of 45. am trying to get to 30 reps of 85. ed was spotting me and holding the camera, so that is why the f'ed up angle.
its an event I am doing in march called the pump and run 5k. in my age group, for each rep you do of 60 percent of your body weight, you get 30 sec off your 5k time.

What about doing that 100 push-up program then?

I could do that. my plan now is to do 30 of whatever I can do now, increasing that by 5 lbs when I master it. and then every sunday when ed can spot me, will do as many reps as I can of 85. I could have done more today, but he only had one hand on it, and even though he can easily pull 85 with one hand, it made me nervous. I think I have 5 in me next sunday, and we won't film so I feel better about it!.
the 30 of 45 was no problem, so I am going up to 50. I will do that every day this week that I work upper body.
Wendy, Tom, Lisa, anyone, . . . is putting videos on youtube kind of like putting pictures on photobucket? First create an account, then upload the video to youtube, then to here? Or is it a lot more complicated than that? (I have a video that is a giant file size and I can't email it, so am wondering what else to do with the darn thing to put it where I want it to go.)

Yes, it's roughly the same idea. Once your video is processed and available on youtube, you can link it here by using the youtube tags of
[ youtube ] [ /youtube ] without the spaces between the brackets, and code that follows the v= in your video url between them. If your video url was something like v=sgS52Wjca3, you would put [ youtube ]sgS52Wjca3[/ youtube ] without the spaces to link it in your post. Does that help?

Wendy asked me to post this here--I didn't get a chance to edit it down, so if you're interested in regular stuff.... front squats and back squats are the last section of the tape.
Oh yeah, there is some vulgar language in the music I listen to when I lift, so you might want to turn it to mute if easily offended, and probably NSFW with the volume up.
Tom, yes, thanks for the help. That one was for family, but will try to get kids or hubby to film something for this now that I've figured out how to make it work.
thanks tina!! I know that for squats, I needed someone to show me how to go parallel--when you really start going parallel, those weights need to go down until you can get your form correct. I just wanted our challenge participants to see a good example of what it looks like to get parallel.
I think this thread is a great opportunity to get feedback on form as we all get stronger!
Tina, awesome stuff. Very inspiring. I am seriously bummed because I just got my video camera on Saturday, did a trial video of me doing a chin up, then injured my back doing step ups at the gym on Sunday so now no lifting for about six weeks. I can't even post the chin up because I was in my underwear. Damn! Maybe I should get my bf to make a video of me lying in bed nursing my broken back and eating ice cream.
Tina you are the BADDEST of the BADASS girls!!! Thanks for that video.
Okay guys here is the squat video that I promised for Ms. Wendy. Thanks for starting this thread. It is my REST day so I did not really workout for this and the weights stayed fairly light as a result.
You can cut apart the form all you want as it can do nothing but help me. Squats freak me out for some reason so I always do lots better with a trainer. This video shows you how I am increasing my squat performance by working out at home alone and in relative safety.
