Default Bev's Fitness Journal

I am finally starting my log. Joining this challenge was the best thing for me. Keeps me accountable and I love the support. Thanks for letting me be a part of this great community of friends and fellow fitness enthusiasts!! Here are my starting stats:

Age-33
Height-5'5"
Weight-166
Neck-12"
Arms-13"
Bust-38"
Waist-37.5"
Hips-44"
Thighs-23.5"
Calves-15.5"

GOALS:

To lose about 35lbs
Be fit and strong
Complete the 100 push-up program (found this here on the forum)
Do a pull-up unassisted!
Be able to run steady (increasing cardiovascular fitness)
Be an inspiration to my family!
Be healthy as I can possibly be!

MY PLAN:
3 Weight Training sessions per week, upper/lower splits and full body. (my personal plan)
Hitt 1-2 times per week after Leg training.
Intervals and SS Cardio 3 hours per week.
Nutrition is 1300-1400 calories (thinking of getting OPT to follow)

Here are the starting pics (hope this works)

I finally figured out photobucket. I used all my time just doing this but at least I have gotten my log started. I hesitated showing my face (I take terrible pics) but I thought, what the heck.

A little about me...I am 34, married, no children (cats and dogs though).
I drive for a living so I am on the road 3.5 days per week. I get absolutely no exercise these days except a little walking. I sometimes get a few minutes at a rest area to do push-ups, lunges, jumping jacks, etc. but very little. We team so we are always moving to get back home fast. This makes it challenging for me. I try to get in 5-7 hours of exercise on the days I'm home to make up. I have lost down from 230lbs over the last 5 years and I want to finally finish what I started. I look forward to being able to say I'm in the best shape of my life. I love eating healthy and feeling good. I know it only gets better from here!

I will be logging my daily activity and training mostly on Sun-Wed, then a little nutrition the other days when I can get internet coverage.

My journey begins now! (actually 1 week ago )

When on the first page of your log, change the URL in the box above, from

Code:
http://forums.jpfitness.com/challenge-training-logs/34042-bevs-fitness-journal.html#postwhatever
to

Code:
http://forums.jpfitness.com/challenge-training-logs/34042-bevs-fitness-journal-new-post.html

Then highlight this new link and hit Ctrl and C. Then go and edit your signature by typing "Bev's Fitness Journal" into it. Then highlight/select that text, and then click on the link button, pasting your link into the box (by hitting Ctrl and V) that comes up. Then you'll want to add -new-post between journal and the . - as in journal-new-post.html on the link you just pasted in.

It should look something like:

Bev's Fitness Journal

when you're done.

Yea Bev!!! You've got your log going. Your goals look great. Do you workout at home? I'm looking to get one of those pylo boxes/step up thinkgs like the one in your picture. Great job on the photos. I've still got to figure out how to attach mine.

Good luck with the challenge. I'll be following your progress!

Hi Bev! I just wanted to stop by now that you have a log! Did you take your pictures in your home gym? If so, you have an amazing set up! I'm so jealous!

Thank you!! I'm still excited!! I always workout at home, I want a real plyo box too. My bro-in-law gave this to me because a bench was to high for my short legs. I use this in step-ups. Working on getting plyo work in my routine. I think it really helps your fitness level. I'm getting there.
Thanks for visiting and encouraging me....MUCH appreciated!!!

Thanks for stopping by!!!

I started the one hundred push-up program monday. I am level 2 I think.
10
10
8
6
10

I was happy with that. I usually can only do 10 when I'm fresh.

Today I did 30 min SS on the treadmill before leaving for work.
My macros were not the best ratio but calories were ok. I had
100 pro. 105 carb. 46 fat. 1230 cal.

I usually get around 135 pro and less fats. Wednesdays are
crazy so I don't stress too much about the macros.

I'm logging with my cell wednesday through Saturday so they will
Be short. Till tomorrow.

I was expecting some "nice rack" comments. You've got a great set up.

Great job on the pushups too!

Awesome on the pushups! Do you realize you did 44 pushups at one time with just a little break between sets. I love this program!

x2 - i have one of those compulsive personalities that require me to read the whole log before i can post, so i have started with the short ones

but it means so much to me to have comments on my logs - and they're all so positive. it really does make me think twice about blowing off a workout or eating off plan - i feel like i'm disappointing other people.

I too love reading the log before posting. You have a good stradegy! I definitely agree it helps to support each other. I wish I had more time while I'm working to read!! I will get to your log soon, I have just enough time to log my stuff then hit the sack. Hopefully tomorrow.

My nutrition for aug. 14th
1700 cal
43% fat
24% carbs
33% pro

Was too high today, I lost sleep the night before and my hunger got the best of me! Was all healthy though. Walnuts were the culprit. I did good most of the day but towards the end I just couldn't take it.

Today, Aug 15th
1600 cal
36% fat
27% carb
37% pro

I was up a lot longer than usual and had an extra meal. I eat every 3 hours so if I have a long day I tend to eat extra. I hope this doesn't hurt me too bad. I will know soon enough and change that if it hinders. On the up side I usually do not get any activity out here but today I ran stairs for 10 minutes and walked for 30 minutes around the parking lot where I pick up my load. I plan to add this in every week on Fridays. I used to feel too embarassed to do that but my health is too important so I don't care what people might think. I'm working on my nerve to do walking lunges and my pushup program as well.

I am adding a goal to quit diet soda. I am going to try tapering down from 4 per day till I quit. Today I drank 3. That's a start.

Off to bed.

That's so cool that you worked out in the parking lot! I've tried doing something like walking lunges while I walk my daughter around the neighborhood in her stroller, but I always just feel so self-conscious doing it. You're an inspiration!

Good luck with the sodas! You can do it!

ditto!

I did walking lunges on the beach when we were on vacation. It was the first time I EVER did anything in public. I figured I wouldn't know anyone so who would care. I did get some odd looks though.

Good for you for making the most of your down time. It'll all add up and I bet others will see your progress and will be asking you for advice.

Hi Bev! Sounds like you are doing well on the diet soda, good for you. I went cold turkey and am shocked at the caffeine withdrawal headaches. It never was this bad when quitting in the past. Thank you for calling attention to the issue.

Thank you for posting about Jen Heath in the other thread. The article looks really good and it was helpful to hear your positive experience with her. That was an impressive increase on your bench, especially since you'd been lifting for a while.

You said you drove as a team. Does that mean you drive part of the week alone or with someone? Either way, being strong must give you a sense of security and confidence while you are out on the road. Keep it up!

You're good! I need to go cold turkey, maybe by next week. It has been different for me in the past. One time I quit and had headaches and the next time I didn't. This will be the third and final time. Hope its the charm. Hope yours gets better soon! BTW, I had 3 yesterday and 2 today.

Hope the article helps you, she knows her stuff.

Yeah, me and my husband drive together, he does nights and I do days.
We go from Arkansas to SLC, Idaho the home again. Its a nice drive. Thanks for the kind words!

Thank You, I might try putting my headphones on to keep my mind occupied. I am the type that hates attention. This will be a challenge in itself!

I had 3 sodas yesterday and 2.5 today. Thanks!!

Nope, I guess my brain doesn't work good at this hour. One day I will figure it out. I posted my link to my log other places and it showed up right "Bev's Fitness Log" but it doesn't seem to want to work on my sig. Oh well.

I read for too long and now I don't have time to post in my log (nutrition and WO). I will post tomorrow.
