Still doing the coaching, I usually skate all the drills the girls skate, so I do tend to get some skating in.

My exercise/weight loss routine has gone to shit, since Halloween, and I have only 6 weeks left before Cancun, so I have to really put my ass in gear. The shoulder seem to be a little better. I have put a lot of stress on it in the past couple days and it seems to be holding out. Hopefully I didn't put too much stress on it, but I do have a physical scheduled for Jan 2, so I will have them look at it then anyway.

Weds, Dec 3

Another of Craig's Foley Performance Routines, had to tweak it a little. Since I didn't have a row machine, I added the Wide Grip Lat Rows, and someone had the Squat Rack ( I believe he was doing arm curls, Ben), I did the Sumo Deadlift High Pulls on a cable machine.

4 rounds, 1:00 for reps, no RI, 1:00 b/n rounds

BW Burpees
Wide Grip Lat Rows(60lbs)
DB Thrusters (25lbs)
Sumo Deadlift High Pulls (60lbs)

Overall, pretty tough workout. Might not have been a great idea to do this workout after the shoulder day yesterday, I could go for the full minute on any of the DB Thrusters sets, shoulder were fried.

There was not suppose to be any rest between the exercises, but I did have to walk from one station to the next and timing of the sets was difficult, since the Gymboss timer I just bought is missing from my bag, I had to watch the clock on the gym wall or my watch.

Workout broke down as follows:
BW Burpees : 14-14-12-11
Wide Grip Lat Rows(60lbs) : 41-41-37-36
DB Thrusters (25lbs) : 20-11-8-8
Sumo Deadlift High Pulls (60lbs) : 29-30-26-24

OK like any good Spartan, this log has come back from the dead...

After much harassment at the Summit about a lack of humor (and workout logging) in my other log, I have revived this one..

Until my shoulder heals my workouts will be pretty touch and go with no real program.

But I am going to try and do a lot of cardio ( bike riding, rollerblading, and karate ) along with a combination of Max Condition (aka Jamie Hale beat-down), Infinite Intensity, and MovNat

Along with my normal, landscaping, retaining wall, construction work that I never seem to get down, summer after summer.

Just stopping by to check out your log. It was fun having someone at the summit to talk about photography and diving with. I'll be happy to talk about zenfolio any time you want.

I know you talked to Julie about your shoulder, but what's the prescription? Rest or are there specific exercises to help you get better?

Its more of an all-around program from agility to strength to range of motion to speed to just-plain conditioning.

He doesn't have any real pre-built program for you, but he does talk through how to build your own to fit your goals

She wants me work work the shoulder over with a lacrosse ball. Working the ball into the shoulder muscle and joint to give it a good "massage". Also I need to try and keep my shoulders rolled upwards, rather than have them fall forward.

I plan to take it easy on the shoulder for a couple more weeks then ramp up the work and see how it handles it.

Wow, that was a nice, leisurely bike ride, wasn't it? Or was it mostly uphill?

Had my 8 year old son along, was a "family" bike ride.... He is finally riding his bike. He didn't really have a desire to ride until this year.

Not really a workout, that's for certain

Fri 22nd
calories consumed: 2312
GWF calories burned: 2923

Sat 23rd

6.5 mile bike ride, avg speed 6.5 mph
calories consumed: 1794
GWF calories burned: 3095
weight: 177.2

Sun 24th

7.5 mile bike ride, avg speed 7.5 mph

5 sets of:
20 pushups
20 full BW squats
20 situps

calories consumed: 2535
GWF calories burned: 3489
weight: 176.6

Mon 25th

10.5 mile bike ride, avg speed 10.1 mph
calories consumed: 1907
GWF calories burned: 2751
weight: 177.6

Just started wearing the GWF, so trying to get use to it. Seems a bit odd the way it tracks steps and activity, so not certain how accurate it is. Sat and Sunday did some mowing (rider), Sat had it on my arm and it recorded alot of activity and steps while mowing. Granted it is manual steering so I move my arms a lot driving around trees and such, but not really certain that should measure as "moderate activity". Sunday moved it down to my calf and still got a lot of acitivity and step counts.

Also while riding bike on Sat and Sunday, I had the device on my calf, while Monday's longer and faster ride I had it on my arm. Monday's ride graphed as an easier workout, so I will have to remember to keep it on my calf while I ride... Not certain how much that will throw the numbers off, but it should be closer than the arm.

Never-the-less, the GWF does subconsciouly keep me more focues on staying active.
