still going strong on the psmf. i was lifting a little light and increased weights yesterday and felt much better. i was dripping when i was finished, which was a nice change.
the graph is a gadget for igoogle - you can find it here. the target line isn't an obvious feature, but it's easy to add under the options. i'm also using another of medhelps graphing programs to track morning temps (to keep tabs on metabolism). it's actually an ovulation tracker, but it's nice because you can also track pms symptoms and such. unfortunately, it's not an igoogle gadget.
all this data is making me feel like a big science experiment. i haven't been tracking any of it long enough to really make sense of it, but it's all very interesting! lol
Hey Karen, you are doing super. Tracking your temperature is really smart. Does it takes out a lot of the guesswork as to when to have a free meal? From what I've seen, I like Lyle's stuff. Glad to see how well it is working for you.
Wow, Karen, you're really rolling along. Congratulations on your progress, thanks to all your hard work. The tracking is cool, too.
thanks, kathy. i like the racking too - it's easy and looks pretty!

thanks, ceebee! i am a "stage three" in the rfl plan which means i don't get any refeeds, but i do get two free meals a week. i usually take them on wednesday (my husband's day off and i day i often get together with friends for lunch) and a weekend day, generally saturday (we'll do a date night or something with the kids). if i wasn't doing these at a standard time then i could watch the temps and when they drop below 97 (and it's not menstruation when it naturally drops) then i would know that my metabolism needs a boost and would have a free meal then. i like lyle's stuff too - once you get past his personality, he has some thought-provoking stuff and the science to back it!
Hi Karen,
As I read your log I'm filled with inspiration and admiration for you in your endeavor to loose weight. I take my hat off. Keep up the good work!
Just seeing how things are going.
Keep it up! There are going to be major changes from the beginning to the end of the challenge.
definitely, bev, we just need to keep pushing on.

hey aeb, the psmf is still going really well, tho i am really starting to get tired of chicken breast. my first diet break is at the end of next month (timed perfectly with a trip to vegas with my husband!) and then i am planning to jump back in. not sure when i'll reach cat2, but i'll either continue with the psmf or jump on the opt bandwagon.

hi celeste - it's been going, i just haven't been around much. i did tweak my back a bit on the 16th (stretching of all things!) and couldn't sit for a week. spent a lot of time lying around in bed or walking - sounds weird, but it was just the bending that hurt!

i know, karen, i've been really bad about posting this month. i have everything lined up to start school in the spring - they didn't get around to accepting me until a week into fall classes. i can't complain since it really was a last minute decision on my part and now i have time to work out all of the details and become properly excited (which i really am - can't wait!!).
thanks to all of you for checking in on me - will try to be better about posting!
copied and pasted from the official challenge post:
still making good progress - down 14 pounds (26 overall!!) and 11 inches this month. i've been out of the gym the last two weeks since i pulled a muscle in my back - headed back tomorrow.
august 01
october 01
also wanted to add my daily weights graph for the month:
the pink line is 200 lbs by 12/31/08 goal and the upward blip is maintenance cals for the first few days of my back injury
Hey! I saw your pics on the challenge page and had to come comment!
