Wink Every journey begins with a single step...er... Squat!

Okay, so this is the beginning of my journal. I should say that I have never done this before but I figured if I'm joining the August Challenge I might as well dive completely in.

I'm a mother of two; DD 15 yrs, DS 17 yrs, and I'm 37 years old. I'm a wee bit on the vertically challenged side at 4' 10" and can't afford to put on much weight cause it makes me look even shorter!

I ran into some trouble and missed about 4 weeks or so but I am currently easing back into NROLW Stage 4. I did workout B today during lunch time. I decreased the weight a little but still worked hard and felt awesome afterwords!

Food tracking is a challenge for me... this is what it looked like today:

Breakfast: Oatmeal, flax seed, berries and 6 egg whites.
Snack: cottage cheese and yogurt.
pre workout: Banana (easiest to grab at the time) & Protein Shake.
Worked out about 15 minutes after having the PWO meal.
Post Workout: Rice cake, salad greens with chicken and veggies.
Snack: Apple with natural peanut butter.
Supper: 2 slices whole grain bread topped with tuna and mozza cheese, baked. (worked late and that was a quick choice).
I have consumed 2 liters of water today which is a total accomplishment for me!!

I walk at 6 a.m. with hubby for about 35 minutes.

So thats it... I feel I had a great day.... so bring on tomorrow!

Great job on water - I keep a bottle on my desk at work and one in my car at all times; otherwise, I'll forget!

Default Day 2

Well day 2 almost behind me. Didn't walk this morning cause it was pouring rain, yet again. Not my gym day so I haven't done any formal exercise.

Nutrition is a bit lacking as well... (can I blame that on the rain too?)

BF: Oatmeal, berries, flax, 3 egg whites.
Snack: Cottage cheese and Yogurt.
Lunch: Turkey wrap on whole wheat wrap/banana with nat. peanut butter
snack: Apple
snack: 2 plain rice cakes (yep..at work and needed something and failed to prepare properly for it!)
Supper: 1.5 cup of hubby's chili with 0.5 cup of white rice. (He had it waiting for me when I got home... and it was good!).

I haven't done the count on fitday just yet... half afraid to . Water intake is lacking.... I'm at about a liter now but the night is not over. Tomorrow I'll do better!

A bit sore from yesterday's workout... This is the first time I am actually sore on one leg/butt and not the other... It's usually a bilateral thing..but not this time. Strange eh?

Yeah, I keep mine on my desk. We also have a cooler at work so it's pretty easy to access. The easiest way for me is to use a straw.... goes down easier!

it's great to see that you're walking with your hubby. now that my kids are older (four 11-19) we tend to ditch them a lot and head out for a walk here or there. that's when we do all of our catching up and big discussions.

looks like you're off to a great start in the challenge. best of luck to you!
