I truly is. I failed the last challenge and ran out of excuses. I feel like I need a super goal to really get serious this time around...so here it is. In 6 months I want to go from this:
to this - yeah, I'm THAT shallow
and that's a heck of a goal to me. I've been wanting to be like that all my life, and there was always something, and now, at 35, it feels like it's about frigging time.
I normally fall flat on my face with my eats, and for a transformation like this I'll just have to get it right every time...99% of the time. Brrrr. I'll start with low carb - I usually respond quite well to that - for a month with 1 free meal weekly and then continue with refeeds once a week to see how it goes. I'm an "all or nothing" person- unfortunately! - which means I'll have to completely get rid of non-vegie carbs. I hope to occasionally sneak in a piece of apple and berries but most fruit will need to go for at least a month.
Exercise-wise, I'll do total body 3x week (NROL Fat Loss 1) and low-intensity cardio another 3, with one day of complete rest.
Current stats:
12 hours in the office today!..
Eats: P 161, C 52, F 40 Total cal 1255...or so. Protein came from yogurt, powder, and chicken breast. Carbs- yogurt again, zucchini, mushrooms. Fat- sour cream, olive oil, mayo, nuts. Oh, and had 1 Monster drink- 0 cals, just bubles and supposedly pure energy...right...
Did a quick basement workout today - it's amazing how quickly the body un-learns and getting un-used to this stuff.
Deads 2x15x 35#
Step-ups 2x15 bw (on a chair)
DB shoulder press 2x15 10# each
BB bent-over row 2x15 35#
Eats: Protein 97, carbs 56, fat 72, total 1240. Protein source - greek yogurt, powder, shrimp. Went a bit overboard with carbs and fat - had a piece of "low carb" chocolate...How do you guys count it? Supposedly it's just 2g insulin-inducing carbs out of 14 total? Can you actually have it on low carb diets?..Just curious.
I'm probably going into ketosis - no appetite whatsoever. Had to remind myself to eat...or maybe it's too hot outside to be hungry. I get this way when the temp goes over 90...go figure.
P 89, C 46, F 54 (feta, bree, cream cheese, almonds, steak)
My soon to be ex wife did that at 45 so I'm sure you can do it at 35. The biggest thing for her was to weigh and measure her food and to do some form of exercise every day.

Yeah...I get bored with tracking very easily and I don't normally weigh food. I know the portion sizes but that's about it. I'm doomed

Thanks Kathy! I probably don't have that much weight to lose but I do have some very stubborn areas that just won't give in.
Really enjoying the day today! Got myself a new pair of running shoes (Brooks Adrenaline's again...) and had a great hour-long run-walk with my DH. I always ran by myself and was surprised that I actually liked having a running partner. Don't know how long it'll last - my DH is a very sporadic exerciser but I'll enjoy it while it lasts.
Sounds like an enjoyable run! I'm such a slow runner that nobody can run with me! It's actually harder for them to slow down than it is for me to speed up.
I loved this weekend!.. Yesterday my DH and I went on a long walk in the morning - an hour or so - and then had a family bike ride in the woods in the afternoon...be-a-utiful! Can't even call it a "cardio workout" because I enjoyed it so much.
Eats last week (avg): P 32%, C 17%, F 51%. A little high on fat I guess...The good thing is that I don't have any carb (chocolate )cravings this time around, even with all the walking/running we've been doing lately. Very unusual...
Now, right after I said I didn't have chocolate cravings, I just HAD to have some today, so I picked one of those low-carb bars from Trader Joe's and it actually didn't taste too bad at all.
Another run/walk with my DH - trying to support him ya know! He's doing really well lately, and I'm just keeping my fingers crossed. He probably has at least 30 # to get rid of so we both need a lot of patience
Eats today: P 92, F 58, C 43. Total a little over 1000.
it's so great that your dh is getting involved. i love to walk with mine, but he has such a crazy schedule (he's an ob/gyn) that it's a rare treat. good luck in the challenge this time around!
I love love love working out with my BF. We keep each other super motivated and on top of things. I can't wait till he has his minor knee surgery in a couple of weeks so he will be able to do leg workouts and cardio again.
Looking forward to seeing your amazing progress! Cheers!
hey Karen
It's been a busy week but I'm doing good with my eats, increased carbs a little, but ok overall. Did some kind of cardio every day - walked or biked and ran a little, and worked out in the gym 3 times this week...Nothing major but generally on track which I'm happy about
Thanks for stopping by!
Started Fat-Loss I on Saturday and instead of staying in my basement for a workout, made myself go to the gym...it actually made me realize how much I missed working out in a gym. I don't know why it makes such a difference but it definitely does...maybe it's that peer pressure factor or that everything's so conveniently available. The only negative is that you can't really workout in your PJs...or maybe you can
Workout A (Saturday) 15 reps/3 sets/75 sec rest
Superset Squat/Seated row
Squat 45lb
Row 40lb
Superset Supine hip extension (BW, swiss ball)/Sumbell push press 10lb
Superset Rotational lunge (10lb each) /swiss ball crunch (20 reps)
Workout B (Sunday) 15 reps/3 sets/75 sec rest
Superset Deadlift 45lb/dumbell incline bench press 12# each
Superset Bulgarian split squat 12# medicine ball/Lat pulldown 40#
Superset romanian deadlift 40#/swiss ball crunch 20 reps
Both workouts felt quite challenging because of the higher rep thing and left me oh-so-sore today in just the right places Very encouraging!
Is that Jamie Easton? U can do it, gurl! It ain't that far to get there from where you are now. Someone just needs to get over to where u r and force you to train your butt off for 6 mos))))
Very impressive weight loss in one month, especially for your size. You lost two whole inches off your waist, wow!!
Jamie Eason (sp?) has the best butt ever. Well played on the goal!

Yep, that's Jamie Eason. It was difficult to choose between her and Mandy Blank, my old fav, but I guess I just had to go with the blonde...and yes dear, I'd give a lot to have you here to kick my butt into shape but you're oh so far away
