I forgot to add my Week 1, Day 3 of my push up challenge

Today I did my nutrition consult with my trainer not sure I like it but will try it. His macros were 20 p/60 carb/20 fat - which is off from what I have been getting from you all. But I won't be with him for the rest of the month at this point because hubby really wants me to try it myself for two weeks. Not very happy but I will do it. I know I can do it but I would just like a few more weeks with my trainer to really get a handle on both nutrition and the weights. Oh well. So after Monday I will start NRFLW on Wed. I will try ot make monthly appt with Jay (my trainer) to get measurements and body fat done unless I am just really floundering then he might get me a few more weeks with the trainer.
I also did 30 min intervals on the Elliptical. Normally I go a little longer but my knees were a little sore today. Need to get that orthotic insert for my shoes to see if that will help me some.

Good job on those pushups! Fun, isn't it?! (at least when it's over LOL)
Those macros are really weird. I'm not sure I'd do that. Did he give reasons for his numbers? I'm not as educated in nutrition as some folks on this board, but I'd need a really good reason to go so high carb.
Geez.... I'm really out of it LOL. I thought yesterday's post was the last one... never saw page 2!
Those macros do sound high for carbs... I know SP recommends 55% carbs, so not that far off, but it still is very high compared to Leigh's recommendations. I would be interesting in hearing his thoughts about why he uses those %'s, too.
Good job with the push ups! I just checked out the website and plan on starting the program next week.

He sort of explained it to me but it was just the standards he knew of. He looked at me a little strange when I asked about it. He is young so my guess he just isn't familiar with all the stuff out there. Good chance I will lose the nutrition internet access as soon as I stop sessions anyways. I plan to still at least go in once a month to get my measurements & body fat done. I am still reading a lot and trying to figure out where to focus, Leigh's stuff - Tom Venuto's or even Precision nutrition. Or just do it on my own. I will work with the NROL4W and go from there. Still very nervous but ready take on the challenge.

Stage 1, Workout 1 NROLW
Squat - 15/60, 15/80
Push-ups - on floor - 15, 14 (almost did another 15 but just couldn't do it)
Seated Row - 15/45, 15/50
Step-up - 15/10, 15/10 (could have done more weight but wanted to make sure I was doing it right first time through)
Prone Jackknifer - 8, 8 (need to work on executing these lol
I also added a set of full sit ups with a medicine ball in hands & some oblique sit-ups too. Also did my IT Band hip exercises too plus stretches
It was different on my own. I did it fine but it was kind of lonely. At one point my trainer came over and looked over my program, it was nice but miss working with him. That is okay. I went in by myself and that is what I needed to do. I think my left shoulder got tweaked a bit with doing push-up three days in a row. I will see.
Regarding the diet - He explained it but to be honest I couldn't tell you know. lol I am pretty much nearly 30% every day anyways. Struggling to get my carbs anywhere near 50% let alone 60%. So I am just going to go with it and keep it lower but not stressing about it.

Same here....but it's my right shoulder. I don't know if it was the push-ups, the assisted chinups, or the O/H presses, but something tweaked it!! OW!

Hi Vickie, I just wanted to let you know that I'm in the same boat as you. My trainer moved just before this challenge started so I'm on my own too. He wrote out a program for me to follow but I miss him. Like you said in another post, It's lonley without him. But I'm determined and it sounds like you are too!!! We can do this on our own. I love the support that I've gotten from this board.

Thanks for the encouragement. I know it will get better - We can do it together.

Hope yours is doing better. Has it stopped you from doing them? I figure I will wait to do any more push ups until at least Friday so I don't make it worse.

My next pushup day is supposed to be Thursday, but we'll see. Because of my crazy work hours, I'm not sure how my workouts will play out. Actually, it's feeling better today, but maybe I'd better rest it an extra day. Hope yours is on the mend, as well!
NOOOOOO!!! I am pretty sure that I have a sinus infection now. I go into the dr in the am to confirm it. *sigh* I hope it doesn't keep me from working out on friday. Yea, yea, I know. Tomorrow might be a rest day for me as much as that will be hard. Although sometimes a good hard cardio workout really helps drain my sinuses. We will see.

Well sure enough I am now on antiboitics for a sinus infection along with a nasal spray and another decongestant to see if I can get stuff from staying inside my sinuses.
I went ahead and did a cardio anyways, not as intense as usual but it always helps me when I do even when I am sick. Just kicking back now, energized but tired.
45 min on Elliptical
Core & Physical Therapy stretches & exercises
Foam Rolled my IT Band also

Vickie,
Just getting caught up on your log--good job on your workout on your own and especially the pushups! I'm sorry you have a sinus infection--I used to get them a lot so I sympathize. Hope the antibiotics kick in soon and you get to feeling 100%.
Now - Over all, I am doing fine on my own but I am struggling with knowing whether or not I am really pushing myself. Next week I will see if I can push the weight more but just not feeling it. I will give it another week or so to see if I can really do this. That didn't come out right. I know I can do this but not sure i am ready for this on my own. The exercises are not the problem, just whether or not I am truly pushing myself.
Workout b, 1st Workout -
Deadlift - 2x15x20 (now is that the total weight you add or just the weight on one end)
Vickie, for your DL's....I am assuming you are using the OLY bar, right? Well, it weighs 45 lbs. If you have 20 on each end, then that's 45+20+20, so you would log it as:
