I was kind of thinking the same as Bytsi. Sadly my mind is way too much in the gutter lately. I think that comes from hanging out with guys too much lately.

Well, I will read and reread my posts before sending them much more carefully before I submit! You know if I had thrown something in like that deliberately looking for that sort of response it would have been completely overlooked.

ROFL Kathy!

Hang in there! I've been stalled out for quite awhile, but am finally feeling as though I'm getting back on track now that my trainer has returned to the gym. At least I'm glad that I maintained for a few months and didn't gain....

I wasn't feeling great yesterday. Started the day with a headache and ended it with a sore throat, but I was determined to complete Stage 2B #3. I finished with my clients at 8:30, and it was almost 9:00 by the time I got my workout started. I figured I might be sorry later since I had early morning clients scheduled today, which normally means I should be in bed by 9:00. But I had plenty of energy and I thought it went well, except I still hate those wide grip dl's and the low to the floor start. My right glutes are really feeling it. In fact, they were hurting enough that I wasn't sure I was going to be able to complete the rear lunges. I obviously have some kind of imbalance issues. My right foot is the one that shoots outward when I squat, too.

Wide grip deadlift from box:
125x10x2 (again, no box just smaller plates)

Bulgarian split squat
50x10x2 -- grabbed a barbell for these. Awww, so much nicer.

Underhand lat pulldown (seeing as I did these inadvertently during my last 2A workout, I thought it was time to bump up the weight a bit. Turned out to be the perfect weight.

105x10x2

Reverse lunge from box with forward reach
12'sx10x2

db pront cuban snatch
5x10x2

swiss ball crunch & reverse crunch

missed these--forgot and didn't have my log with me

lateral flexion
BWx10x2 -- swiss ball side lunges

prone cobra
2x60s hold

I'm feeling pretty good today considering that I didn't get to bed last night until almost 11:00 p.m. and I was up by 4:00 a.m. and I still have the sore throat. At 5:00 a.m. my 6:00 a.m. client called to say he was stuck in traffic and didn't think he'd make it by 6:00. So I chilled until it was time to leave for my 7:00 a.m. I had time for some oatmeal and I'm on my third cup of coffee. Tonight my old gym friends are taking me to dinner to celebrate my birthday (a little late!). I told them it wasn't necessary as it's not my birthday anymore. I think they are just looking for an excuse.

Thanks, Bytsi. It was kind of weird because even though I'm fighting a cold...or have one...I actually have more energy than usual. Didn't end up going out with my friends because not enough could handle going out that late so we're postponing it. That is a good thing because now I can plan my food better. I already know I'm going to order beef Wellington, now I can work it into the weeks calories. Hmm...I wonder if the restaurant has creme brulee?? That is my ultimate birthday (or anytime) dessert and I will never say no to a good creme brulee.

Alrighty, then. I am just one workout away from having completed Stage 2. Woo hoo! This morning I was feeling pretty stuffy, but after work I felt all right. Plus, in between clients I purchased some new workout duds that were on sale at a major discount in our gym store. I got a Nike top, a club brand top and a pair of Puma pants for $32.00 total! That includes my 10% discount, which was on top of the 50% discount that was on top of the clearance sale price. It takes a lot of discounting to make those brands fit into my budget. So, anyway, new cute workout clothes gave me an extra burst of motivation to, well, work out.

Stage 2A, Workout 4
Front squat/push press
10x65x2--but it really looked like this: 3x65,4x65,3x65 and 3x65,3x65,3x65,1x65

I have no trouble blasting up from the squat and getting the bar overhead, but I noticed that as I brought the bar back down to my shoulders my wrists had not reached full extension at the top of the last rep in each mini set so that on the way down my wrist was too sore to continue straight into the next rep. I could have gone back to 50 lbs. with no problem, but since that weight is much less than what I would use to do a regular push press or even a regular overhead press, what would be the point?

Step-ups
10x30'sx2 (no drama here--just annoyed that using dumbbells I can't handle 35's and I have to rest between sets due to grip weakness)

DB 1 pt. row
10x30sx2 (these were broken up quite a bit due to lack of balance--I think my record was six straight on the second set)

Static lunge, rear foot elevated.
10x30'sx2 -- man was my balance sucking on my right leg. That is the same side that tweaks when I squat, same glute that was killing me on the reverse lunges.

Push-ups
10xBWx2 -- feet on RDL platform

Plank
2x60s hold -- arms on stability ball, feet on bench

Cable Horizontal Woodchop
10x20x2

I'm ready for some food and a nap!

Default Holiday magic!

Okay, here is my motivation for being really good for the last month of the challenge. I just ordered this dress in a size 4. I am going to wear this dress to my company's holiday party one month from now. I am going to look hot in this dress! This dress is non-returnable. So what do you think? Silver shoes? Anyone know where I can get some nice cleavage?

Black heels it is! Sad to say, our company party is the highlight of my year...the only opportunity I have to dress up and dance all night. This dress is perfect for it and in line with what many others will be wearing. I usually do the 'little black dress' thang but I think this dress is a little more attention getting.

Thanks for you input, Jane.

Great dress Kathy! I think silver heels would also be a good option - something strappy and sexy...

Great dress, Kathy! I'd go with the black heels, like Jane, but that's just cuz I know I'd wear those again. Silver, probably not. I love Bytsi's idea of strappy heels, though . . . that would look amazing! If a Wonderbra doesn't work because you might be able to see part of it, get those cleavage things that just stick to you. They work beautifully and can make even me look like I've got a lot of cleavage. (I can not remember what they're called right now, but I'm sure someone around here will.)

Strappy and sexy for sure. And I do think silver would look nice...I am on the fence. The practical in me tends to lean toward black, but since the blue is definitely a departure for me, I could take it all the way.

I am definitely motivated...getting ready to log the days food, which I haven't been doing and planning to increase my deficit (if I've been at a deficit at all...weight was up over 138 this morning!) And yes, I will definitely post pics.

Last year I wore a stick-on bra from VS--the type that has half straps the stick to your sides. It worked pretty well and I the dress I wore was pretty low. Still, no real cleavage, more so no obvious sagging. But I'd love to look into those 'cleavage things' although I'm not sure which you are talking about. Like these?

Default How about these shoes?

Since today was my PT job payday, I was in shopping mode this weekend apparently. First, the new workout clothes that I bought at the gym, then I bought the party dress and about an hour later, after doing a little online research, I decided to buy some weight training shoes. I ordered these in black. I really was not wanting high tops, but I had a hard time finding cute weight training shoes. Of course, I still have to buy shoes to go with the dress...these aren't them.

Kathy, I was thinking of something like that. My sister's bridesmaids had something like that for their dresses. It worked really well for them because of how the dresses were cut. The pics Jane posted look like they could work with your dress and it's possible that they'd feel a little more secure. I'd try out all the options to see what would work best for dancing and movement in the dress.

Oh man! I just got home and found an email from the company I ordered the dress from. The dress is no longer available and my order has been cancelled! Crap! Oh well...I should have known it was too good to be true.
