Good luck with the job, Donna! And I cannot BELIEVE that you and Len are approaching your 2 year anniversary already - seems like you were JUST planning the wedding!!!
I could have sworn I posted here the other day, but... apparently not LOL! I hope your interview went well Donna! Good luck with all the moving and house-related stuff, too!
Sorry I went into hiding there for a bit... I'm back with a vengeance now though!

Tracey - Thanks for the good luck wishes....I need them. The interview went well but who knows how these things will workout. I can't believe it will be 2 years soon either. Actually, I can't believe we are buying a house so soon afterwards. One of my friends couldn't believe we aren't still paying for our wedding....we paid as we went along and I cut corners whenever I could.
Thanks Ginny for the congrats
Lori - I'll probably be gone for a while as we try to finalize this house stuff, pack and move. Admittedly this week has gone straight to hell. Right now, all I can manage is about 3 workouts through the rest of December....So if I could just maintain 210lbs I'll be happy. ONEderland will have to happen next year. I've got a lot on my plate right now. Love the avi of you and the boys.
Thanks for the wonderful Christmas wishes everyone. Right now, I'm in bed with a sore throat, ear and sinus pain. We spent Christmas at my cousin's house where it was so darn cold (for Southern California) that my car door was frozen shut. Today was supposed to be a purging and packing day but hopefully, I'll be well enough to try tomorrow.
Although I'm planning to do the Jan-Jul challenge, I probably won't be able to workout until January 12th with all the moving. We're supposed to close escrow on the 30th and move that following Friday but we're still waitng for the loan docs and the seller asked for a few extra days to move. I will focus on cleaning up my eating starting on the 5th and then I'll start my workouts (heavy lifting, interval cardio via Chalene Extreme - a 3 month DVD training program).
Right now though, I need to pop some more pills and take my big beige ass to bed.
Sorry to hear that you're sick Donna... and brrr on the cold. Considering that I'm on the other side of the country, our Christmas was quite mild in comparison.... in the 40's! No frozen car doors for me.
Hope you're feeling better after popping some pills LOL... and glad to hear you're still going to do the challenge. I signed up today....

Signing loan docs tomorrow. We're close. We're actually happy about the delay because we both got sick over Christmas and couldn't pack anything in the condition we were in.
Happy New Year to you too Tracey.
Dear God, I posted those beginning challenge pics The big belly was one thing but that pack of salami on my back around my bra strap was just . Thank goodness I've got a plan to lose it and I'm off for a few weeks so I can establish a solid routine.

You are going to do AWESOME this year, Donna!! I'll be following along with your success (and giving you a kick in the pants if you need it!!)
4. Put my husband on the same diet as myself to ensure I have success.
From the Women's Challenge log...Good idea, I'm doing more or less the same with mine. He wants to lose a little to so it works for the both of us.

Hope that went well. We moved two years ago and I lost 10 pounds from all the packing and unpacking. Well that and not eating because I was busy packing and stressing over packing!
It has been nuts around here and my apartment looks like a typhoon hit it. Luckily, I have been able to keep up with exercise and tracking my food. On Monday, I did full body circuit-style lifting at home and woke up with a sore ass and triceps the next day. Yesterday, despite dealing with loose ends with real estate agent and family drama, I used the Wii that my husband got me for Christmas and sweated like a 'ho in church playing tennis, baseball and bowling. I think I'm in love with that machine and I haven't even connected the Wii Fit board yet.
Admittedly, Monday, I had a bit too much refined, processed stuff even though I got in more vegetables and used portion control. Tuesday was much better and I made lamp chops with a yogurt mint sauce. It was fabulous and even my husband, who normally doesn't like Greek yogurt, loved it.
Today, I'm changing the utilities and securing the moving company and a host of other stuff. But I'm planning to lift this evening before we have dinner (salmon croquettes with left over yogurt mint sauce).
Tracey - You have my permission to kick my ass. I need it but so far, so good despite the stress. I must confess that we have a V-Day trip planned so I want to get some new sexy undergarments so that's helping me stay motivated.
Kobeat - Hey there. Yes, putting my sweet tooth picky British eater on the same diet will do wonders for my waistline. Fortunately, he never noticed when I switched to lean ground beef, pork tenderloin or skinless chicken thighs. Now if I could get him to stop bringing in white chocolate from Europe, mincemeat pies, bangers and sausage rolls from England, I'll be golden.
Nutbar - Thanks for the "drive-by" When are you due? Hope all is well.
Hey Donna! Glad to hear that things with the move are progressing... good luck finishing all of that up. When is your estimated move-in date? Do you know yet?
I can't wait to see your progress in the challenge.... that V-day motivation should be something to keep you going, that's for sure! I ended up dropping out before I even started... just too much stuff going on at the moment, and this time I didn't want to commit to it if I didn't thing I could follow through all the way. I'll definitely be checking up on you though... good luck!
Sounds like you are a great cook.... of course, I started a new diet today and nearly every log I've posted in has had pictures or descriptions of foods that I can't eat LOL!

Hey there. Another challenge participant saying hello and subscribing. Congrats on the new house. I swear that if/when the one I'm in now gets sold I'd be tempted to sell it 'as is' and only pack a few suitcases. Packrat that I am though, I'd likely want to bring too much with me!

Donna - YOU GO GIRL!! Good for you keeping up with the workouts during such a stressful time. Moving just sucks so much!!
Sounds like your food is right on, too! That's something that DH and I are trying to focus on - more variety and yumminess in our menus. I tend to get into a rut of the same old stuff day after day. So far, we've been trying new stuff that has been yummy! Makes it easy to stay on track!
Hope the move goes smoothly for you! Kick ass, girlfriend!
Good news! Good news! We finally closed escrow today and I'm supposed to meet our agent to pick up the keys today. I'll be disinfecting the place tonight since our fridge arrives tomorrow. Hubby and I will be packing and moving boxes all weekend long and we have movers coming in on Wednesday to move the furniture. I cannot wait for this to all be finalized.
Lori - Sorry about the stress that caused you to drop out of the challenge. I let to much bullshit get in my way last time around so I've decided to become very stingy with my time. Told my grandparents no the other day (those two are a handful); told the associate dean I would not teach a humanities course (I'm a social scientist) and told my husband that if he touches my fitness equipment and Wii, there would be hell to pay So far, so good...I set boundaries and then I can keep my self-promises.
Anne - We actually purchased an "as-is" house but the previous owner put over $75K of upgrades into it before he lost it so it's move in ready. Sorting through my husband's junk is the biggest pain in the butt. Model trains, planes and cars everywhere, science geek magazines in places they don't belong. I finally gave up and put his stuff in a corner and told him to deal with it.
Tracey - I'm trying to find ways to liven up dinner. I can rotate the same breakfasts and lunch but dinner needs to be something new to look forward to. I don't have a plan for tonight just yet but I've been craving some flank steak so I think I'll make a trip to the grocery store soon. Wii/Wii Fit is going to help me stay active through this move. I did 48 minutes yesterday and sweating like a 'ho in church but boy, did I have fun.
Celestialmom, Diane and Karen - thanks for the good vibes with the move. We have a plan so let's hope it works without us trying to kill each other like we did the last time. Luckily, my MIL was here so we didn't totally cut up in front of her.
Yesterday, I did FIRM Super Body Sculpt DVD and 48 minutes of Wii Sports/Wii Fit. My abs are sore as hell. My plan is to do 20 minutes of kickboxing and 30 minutes on the Wii this evening after I disinfect the bathrooms and kitchen in our new house. Wahoo!

I've been gone the entire week busy with our move. I wish I could say it went smoothly but that wasn't the case. We had some sabotage by the seller. Nothing major but annoying nonetheless. My Wii Console was also stolen by the movers and I've enlisted the support of a lawyer to draft a formal letter of complaint Right now, I'm tired and look haggard and have been subsisting on fast food.
Well it all ends tonight as I plan to get back on the wagon tomorrow since we are about 70% unpacked and set up. I need to grocery shop of course but at least we have enough here so I can have a decent breakfast after my workout in the morning. So, I'm back...it may take a few days for me to get my footing again after such an incredibly exhausting and stressful period but I refuse to go another day feeling like a big black beached whale.
