"As far as (healthy) eating, either do it, or don't. Same issues repeated over and over is just insanity. We either commit to the endeavor or pay lip-service to it. This is the hardest part of the whole process, and it needs to be practiced more than the actual physical training. It's mind training." ~ Matt Thorne

Here we are at the end of week 3 already... time flies, huh? I had a great week this week and really got back in control of my eating and exercise... here are the stats so far:
I don't really notice a difference in the photos from last week to this week, despite the change in weight and a couple of measurements. Definitely feeling better though and my clothes are fitting better!

Good job, Lori! You are down in inches nearly everywhere!
As for the workout, it's new, you'll adapt and it won't be so bad soon. I get really sore every time I do something new, the hardly able to wash your hair sounds real familiar some how!

LOL Cynthia... I'm STILL sore after doing the workout twice more... I guess it's a keeper!

Thanks Karen... I can't wait to see your pics at the end of the week... you've done a super job with the challenge yourself!
I'm SO excited that finally, after 10 months TO THE DAY, I saw 159.2 on the scale this morning! I did the happy dance all over the bathroom LOL... and then of course got on and off of the scale three times just to make sure that it was accurate!
Between this 30 day challenge and Matt returning to the gym, I am feeling so positive and motivated right now... it's awesome! I went out and bought myself a new wool coat last night in size MEDIUM just to celebrate!

Thanks everyone! It felt great to finally break through that barrier! I'm back up a bit after the last couple of days (birthday parties, dinner out, etc.... but I know I'll be right back down there within a couple of days again, so I'm feeling very positive!

I'm soooo incredibly impressed by the success of Leigh's group of 6 that she worked with! There were some awesome accomplishments and huge transformations... it's hard to believe that that can be done in 30 days, but obviously the proof is in the pictures!
I'm pretty happy with my results as well... I have learned a lot throughout this past month and am anxious to keep going on my own using a similar program. The biggest part for me has been the planning... I NEED to do this in order to hold myself accountable.... and it works!
I'll be back to edit this post with my big meal pic in a bit.... I didn't think to take pictures during the challenge, but I'm making the turkey sausage soup today, so I'll take a pic of that!

Wow, Lori that is some incredible progress! You should be proud because all of the work you put in really shows.

I am so with you on this. The planning makes a big difference and I find that it is so much easier to maintain compliance to nutrition goals when you know what, when, and how much you will be eating.
Wow! What a difference Lori! Very impressive work, and I agree with you, it definitely is in the planning! I may go up in calories a little (given my head is pounding again today), but I'm sticking with the meal planning!
You are in the 150s! So cool!
I must admit, I have not been in the 2-teens since early 2000.
The funny thing is the weighing in grams, which I didn't do prior to the challenge, is like habit now! A good habit!

Again, congratulations on your awesome results!
Thanks Hayzel... I've got to check on your log tonight... haven't gotten there yet. Have you had your audition yet?

Thanks Cynthia... and yes, the weighing has become a habit for me too, and it really helps!

Thanks Bytsi... yes, I really like the plan too... kinda sucks to cook separate meals for the family, but it's worth it for the time being, at least!

I forgot that I wouldn't be able to go back and edit my post above, so here's my picture of the OBM for the challenge... this is the chicken/turkey sausage and bean soup that I had a couple of weeks ago and made again today:

Congrats on the progress you made during the 30-day challenge. The good news with the planning is that the longer you do it, the more it becomes a habit (and easier too).
I haven't had much time to check out journals lately but OMG, Lori you did an amazing job on Leigh's challenge. More than the weight loss is the difference in your measurements. Congrats....
Now where the hell are you? LOL (but I'm serious).....
geez, have i been out of the loop! so glad your trainer is back, looks like he's put together a good program for you. and your challenge progress is totally amazing - hard to believe those pics are just thirty days apart - what a difference!! keep up the good work and even the 150's will be behind you!
