kfisherx I hope that you decide to continue. I enjoy seeing your progress and find your posts helpful to my own progress. I know I don't post much here anymore but I do pop in every few days to lurk.
I'm in, I will just be able to take a pic before i go on holidays for two weeks, so the before will look better than the month 2 shot.. I have a really bad flu at the moment, so am toying with the idea of doing general fitness stuff then starting again from the beginning next month.
Does it matter where you start from? I know there are other newbies who are also doing stage 1 and will be finished it by August.
will definitely change the avatar too, I do not need to look at cakes anymore. I like the idea of finishing on December 2, a real incentive to keep that way over the Xmas holidays
I'm in!! I may have to have nutbar repost my final pic from this challenge to the new challenge thread if I'm on fire duty over the deadline if that would be ok.
My dilema is just that I am wondering if it is beneficial to the program to have someone who is doing more serious building type activity as opposed to fat loss or if it is de-motivating to for others to watch this? I feel already that I stick out like a thumb in this challenge along with a select very few others. I I don't need the challenge to keep me accountable for anything so I don't want to do it if it isn't going to give others a boost and inspiration.
Karla - I've learned so much from you and your support has been invaluable. Of course you should be in this challenge - I'm fascinated by watching you do a clean bulk. I think I'm not alone in hoping that one day I'll be in a place where I am low enough in bf% that I want to do a bulk on purpose (instead of a default "I overate" bulk)

Timer or helper is great, but for me, I just stand in front of a mirror and hold up the camera. Takes me 20 tries to get it right -- but I don't have to show my family (not even my kids) what I look like in a bikini. Then I just crop my head out of the shots before I post . Not a great solution, but it's one option!
I am so excited to see so many new people joining this one. With that said I have a bit of a dilema for this challenge. I am ending the first one with an almost perfect rock-hard body. By August 4th I will be very near my 10% bf goal and in Sept for the pics I will be competition style body. Problem is my body looks like a figure model instead of builder so more work is to be done. My goals for the next year are to simply bulk and gain without gaining a bunch of fat. By end of next challenge I should have some serious more muscle going on and also some more bf.
So my goals do not really run with the goals of the group as a whole for this one.

You guys can PM me if you have any concerns RE this.
I'd love to see you in the challange. While my body is not rock hard, I think we've got some similar goals--mainly gain more muscle with little to no more added fat. I think having you in here will motivate me even more and inspire me to eat cleaner and healthier!

Question, For the pictures, do we need to hold that days newspaper?
Can we trust you ???
I think newspapers are optional, unless you feel a need to chart that for yourself. Seems like fudging the date on pics would only be hurting yourself because you wouldn't really be documenting your true progress, right?
I have been lurking here for a while and am so inspired by the progress you've all made! I'm in for the challenge and look forward to getting to know you all!
I'm seriously considering joining this challenge. I've had some pretty big life stuff going on lately that has kept me away from here (I miss my JPeeps!!!) and has kept me from taking better care of myself. No excuse, really. But, luckily, and miraculously, after a year of busting butt and losing 12 pounds, I only gained back about 5 of it over the last several months, but it’s still creeping up.
So, now that I've gotten past most of my stuff, this challenge will be a perfect segway into what feels, in many ways, like a new start for me. Plus, the friendship and support is invaluable, which I will definitely need to keep me on track!
But, I’m still considering……

I've been lurking around the NROL4W forum for a while (I started NROL4W in February) and feel like I "know" several of you so I am definitely onboard for the August challenge. I look forward to truly getting to know you all better as we strive for our goals!
To Karla: I have to echo the others' sentiments on you being involved. Where you are in your fitness and physique is definitely inspiring. In the same vein, I love reading posts by Natalia (she is proof that anyone can meet his/her goals! ) and Lisa~.....you all provide good leadership to all of us.
I hope you decide to participate. You have been missed greatly!

I hope you decide to join. 5 lbs isn't bad and will come off in no time.

I want to say I'm in...don't think I'm finishing the first challenge strong (June was so unexpectedly brutal) but I love the accountability factor and certainly want to continue.
