Default Orangechic's Next Stage (NROL)

I finished NROL4W and thought the next program should be NROL, I am in the Break In Phase and am enjoying it so far. Although I am excited to get into the stages.

Current Stats-
Height- 5'7"
Weight- 119

Goals- I have not been feeling that great with my weight, I am up about 3 lbs from normal and know that I need to get the diet in check. Work, grad school and volunteering keep me really busy and I need to hold myself accountable to get to the grocery store and make healthy meals for myself.

Meals today-
M1- Greek yogurt and pp
M2- String cheese
M3- Chicken Tortilla Soup and Whole Wheat Crackers
M4- Had a spoonful of peanutbutter and a few celery sticks
M5- Leftover whole wheat pasta with marinara sauce, carrots
M6- Will depend on what time I get done with school

Workout today-
Break In Stage Workout A #3

Happy Wednesday, halfway through the week. I had a great workout this morning, Fat Loss II, Workout A and I am going to be sore.

Tonight is the first night in months that I don't have anything going on, I will probably head to Costco and do some homework and relax on the couch for once!

I had a puke-worthy workout this morning and could barely make it through the last set.

Snatch Grip Deadlift- 80lbs! 3 sets of 10
T push-up- 3 sets of 10
Bulg Split Squats w/ Overhead press- 12.5lbs, 3 sets of 10
Underhand Grip Lat Pulldown- 50lb, 3 sets of 10
RDL/Bent Over Row- 50lb
Lower Body Russian Twist- I hate these!

22 minutes of HIIT, after all of this I could barely walk back up the stairs to the locker room.

So the plan for food today is to keep the carbs low and drink tons of water-
M1- 2 hardboiled eggs
M2- Protein shake with water
M3- ?
M4- Nuts and cheese
M5- Chicken and salad
M6- Probably some more nuts

Things have been good, I am on the week between programs so it has been nice to take a few days off from the gym. But Sunday I am back at it.

My focus lately has been increasing my protein intake, adding a protein shake in the morning has really helped. I still am not a huge fan but I can at least get it down.

Are you in MN or Chi town? If MN, did you get a dome dog?

My office is going to a day game next week. Its always a good time, but I am excited for the new outdoor stadium.

I started a new stage yesterday for NROL- and I am really sore today! It's been awhile since I had done any bench presses, and I can really feel it.

It was nice to not go to the gym today since I was so sore.

how'd the root canal go? i've only had one and he was able to do it the same day he decided i needed it - not a bad way to go since i didn't have to dread it for days/weeks!

Hope the root canal went well. I had one just like Karen had--same day procedure. Had to come back later and get the crown, though.

Root canal went surprisingly well- although I am still a bit tender near that tooth. I listen to my ipod at the dentist to calm me down, not sure why but I have always hated going. I get so worked up every time I have to go.

I had a great workout this morning- it was a leg day of the NROL stage I am on. I love the jello feeling I get at the end of the workout. But the 15 step ups on each leg were challenging today!

It is starting to feel like fall here- it is only 55 this morning. We are expecting a high up to 81 but the mornings are crisp. Junior League went well last night and our financials were good and with a few modifications we can close out the league year.

It will be a quiet day at work today, everyone else on my team is travelling or in meetings. I should be able to get a lot done. I have no plans tonight which doesn't happen very often, I am going to go to Costco and clean the house.

Meals today
M1- Oatmeal and watermelon
M2- Greek yogurt and protein shake
M3- Leftover chicken and a little bit of whole pasta with sauce
M4- String cheese and protein shake
M5- I will pick something up at Costco to make

where are you? it's gotten cooler in maine too, which is nice since we don't have a/c. i've actually been sleeping in flannel pj pants, snuggled under the down comforter with the windows open - love the fall!!

my dentist had a dvd player installed in the treatment room, so i had my root canal while watching mythbusters. glad yours is feeling better.

Here are some progress pictures-

In order- Sept 1, Aug 1 and April 1st. I have a hard time telling- but it seems like abs are flatter, my legs look larger on Sept 1st. But some of that could be some pmsing water weight. I have been working hard on the squats thought and may need to keep pushing through to get through that layer of fat.

I started Strength I of NROL this morning and talk about puke worthy, wow. My legs felt like they were on fire!

am glad it is Thursday. I had a rough start to the day with no power at 5:30am, trying to get ready in pitch black is humerous! I think I only had one sock on inside out. Thankfully I had already planned on going to the gym to do cardio.

Did a quick cardio session and then walked to work. I noticed that the building my gym is in is going to become a hotel later this year. Hopefully that doesnt mean changes for my gym, it is very convenient now. It is attached by skyway to my current parking ramp and I park in the morning, do my workout and then walk the 2 blocks in the skyway to work. It is pretty nice, I am spoiled.

I have a few meetings today and class tonight, hopefully the day goes fast.

Meals today-
M1- Protein shake and oatmeal
M2- Plum and almonds
M3- Black bean taco mixture, 2 taco shells, and cheese. Cucumbers and a mini cheese
M4- Protein shake and berries
M5- Chicken Breast, Cliff Kidz bar at Class
M6- ?

Hi Orangechic - I moved from Mpls 3 years ago (to SF area), but I still, having spent 34 years of my life there, love to hear about "life" in Mpls! I am trying to think about a downtown gym in a bldg to be turned into a hotel...hmmm, stumped! I have lived on 9th and Nicollet, and worked out at every gym downtown, it seems like, at one point or another! how great to have your gym connected to work via skyway! That is pretty nice.

Anyway, I am watching your NROL journey as I just am going through break-in myself and loving it. Came from TT (Turb Training), but just looking for something tough/smart I can follow, with others who have done it before. Going into FL1 a week from Sat - very excited about this! You looked great in all of your pics, so congrats on that!

Thought I would say hi - good luck in your challenge! Enjoy the fall weather!! In the east bay we're still hitting the 90's - ahhh, CA...

Karla

It's Wednesday Halfway through the week. I am sure some of you remember the bridge collapse in Mpls in August of 2007- well the new bridge opens tomorrow! They are 2 months ahead of schedule and this should help with my traffic in the morning. I don't have to take that bridge but the highway I take had the detour from the bridge.

I had a good workout this morning- 22mins of HIIT, followed by Workout B of the strength stage of NROL I am on.

Bench Press- set of 6,1,6,1,10-12, 45lb-65lb
Bulg Split Squat-set of 6,1,6,1,10-12, 15lb

Close Grip Lat Pulldown- 2 sets of 6-8, 110lb!
Dumbbell shoulder press- 2 sets of 6-8, 15lb
Lower body russian twist

Meals today-
M1- Oatmeal with cinnamon
M2- Protein shake and apple and cheese
M3- Healthy Request Chicken Tortilla Soup, Cucumbers, Orange
M4- Protein shake and almonds
M5-M6- Not sure what I will have for dinner

Hi Karla- Nice to see someone else who knows Mpls. I actually work downtown St. Paul but live in Mpls.
