I could never do the splits during exercises or anything, but I could always do it in the adrenaline of a baseball game when stretching for a close play at first base. It was a very quick "jock to dirt" moment, but I got down there.
That ended five years ago. If I tried today I'd surely pull a Munson.

He rules. I tried to get Barrett to have his client run through a wall but I don't think they tried it. I fail.
But I don't curtsy, no matter how hawt it is.
I worked out again today. Four times already this week -- take a suck o' that!
Bent-over DB rows
Walking lunges (Gobbla's fault)
DB shoulder flyes
Farmer's holds
French press
DB curls (that's right, it's bro time)
Reverse crunches
Feeling really good. This exercise often, short and intense thing is working nicely. I don't have to scramble to fit it into the schedule, and I'm not burning out or breaking.
Somebody has a birfday on Sunday.

Thank you for the laughs RL. This is why I come in here every day... because i get to laugh (and it helps kill airport time)

You *could* do that stuff. It's not very cool though. Everyone knows it's about looking cool. What you should do is start smoking. Then you'd be cool.
That's a good idea. It would help get my singing voice to be more like the music I like (Puddle of Mudd, Seether... gravelly rock) instead of my current smoothness. Gotta move away from the Rick Astley sound.

You know it, dude. My kids still regularly ask me to do the "most interesting man" stories for them.
I worked out today, but not feeling very good. The weekend was full of totally psycho overboard eating, "ISH MAH BERFDAY!!!" style.
Tres leches cake -- check
Devil's food cake -- check
Pizza at the office on Monday -- check
BD cake at the office on Monday -- check
Whew boy. Today I ate some of the leftover pizza around 1:15 and it just hasn't settled well. Throat is starting to hurt too... uh oh.
Still, I did some dynamic warmup stuff, my usually hip/glute rehab work and a couple sets of DB snatches with the 50-pounders. That was it.
Tonight is an open house at Samantha's school. She starts kingergarten in six days.

I can do Bonnie Raitt's "Something to Talk About", the lyrics of which would be hilarious if I sang it to Nick. Or I can do a good rendition of Pearl Jam's "Alive", although that song's pretty depressing.
We may need to book about four hours at that restaurant.

I hate country too, but my dad asked me to listen to Brad Paisley and I can stand some of his stuff. But if you even show me a picture of Reba McIntyre I turn into Rambo and start blowing crap up. I have a visceral reaction to that woman that I can't quite explain.
In other news, it's the 20th of the month and I just got contract #4 in. Gotta get six more by next Friday...

Umm, I was told there'd be kettlebells. Where's the kettlebells?
Well, see... I've been slinging DBs around in a kettlebell-like fashion. So it's basically kettlebell training, but with different handles...
I fail. More non-KB training today:
Fairy skipping (Cotter warmup, and made me feel pretty)
Hip/glute stuff
DB snatches -- 2x8, each arm, 50-lb
Bench pistols -- 3x5
Low pulley 1-arm alternating chest press on bench -- 3x10, 30 lbs. each
1-leg hip/glute bridge on upside-down bosu ball -- 3x5 each leg with hold
1-arm alternating pulley curls -- 3x10, 15 lbs. each
Farmer's walk -- 50lb in each hand for 60 seconds in circles around the Nautilus machine
Sore throat came back at the end of workout but so far I'm feeling pretty good. RedWifey got hit harder with this mini-bug yesterday, while I've been skirting the edge of sickness since Sunday.
I sweaty.

RedWifey ordered my keyboard a couple of days ago! We were able to upgrade and get the Yamaha YPT-410 due to two factors:
1) She found it online at Sam's Club for a great price, and it included a stand and the power adapter
2) I got two $50 gift cards at work -- one for being awesome at a company event and the other for my BD. We applied both cards to the purchase and it worked out.
Lucky for RedWifey, the keyboard has a headphone jack, so I can practice and make horrible sounds on it without driving her insane.
