My college didn't allow "organized dancing" either, when I was there, except on-campus supervised square dances once or twice a semester.
The faculty weren't allowed to dance, either, which was a source of amusement. I remember one prof mentioning not being allowed to dance with his wife: "We already have three children. What are they afraid dancing will lead to?"

Hey RL, my suggestion is that you look at some of the local universities to find a good music teacher. The music stores are "hit and miss" for good teachers whereas the schools are often better. You deserve the best teacher money can buy for this venture so go out and find the best teacher in your area. It will make all the difference in how you enjoy your journey.
Did you go running around and screaming like a little girl?

Yes, but not because of the hurricane. There was a movie on Lifetime on Saturday that touched me deeply.

The "Face Your Manga" website, but it's not working. Aoife, Otto, Deserve and Gobbla killed it several days ago. Jerkies.
Oh, and you don't own exclusive rights to food porn anymore. Check out my Saturday night dinner -- 20oz steak and fresh corn on the cob. The steak was Laura's brand grass-fed, which was expensive but we had a coupon. I did a light rub with Sonny's Crazy Cajun blackening mix. Incredible. Sonny was at a local grocery store on Saturday morning and we talked with him for a while and bought some things. Anybody with the tagline "Gonna make you hurt yo-self" has earned at least a few bucks from me.
I cooked it medium over natural charcoal, and did a light glaze of butter as it came off the grill. Butter on the corn too, of course.
We're doing some furniture rearranging today, so that's my workout. Several things up/down the stairs or into the attic.

And for the ladies who are scheduled after me in the gym on Tue/Thurs -- YES, I'm working out today. I exercise every Tue/Thur at 3pm, just like it says on the schedule.
And when you ask me three times before the workout, then come into the gym at 3:18 (!!!) to see if I'm done yet...
You can do your Jillian Michaels DVD at 4pm, just like you signed up for. Chill.

Yeah, nice one! I still can't get the site to load...
Do you click the little british flag? That's the secret.

Me: I'm interested in piano lessons once a week.
Teacher: Very good, what time?
Me: What times do you have available?
Teacher: Completely flexible here, any specific time you'd like?
Me: Really? Great! How about 4:30 on Wednesdays.
Teacher: Can't do that early on any day. Needs to be later.
Me: ??????
I don't think everybody else defines "completely flexible schedule" the same way I do.

Just read through your new log--so hilarious! Thanks for completely distracting me from the important tasks I had to do during the day...
Great job working towards all your goals this month, not much left for you to accomplish!
On another note, looks like LostDog and I went to the same college.
At Wheaton there were the 3 D's--no DRUGS, DRINKING, or DANCING. For the profs too! We even had to sign a pledge... Hmmm, two down, one to go...

Musicians often have a very... um, different sense of time.

Uhh... you sure you read it all closely? I'm supposed to be learning piano but I've only had my keyboard a little while and still haven't had a lesson...
And my new business unit isn't exactly built yet...
Plenty left to do! Before I know it, it'll be under 95 degrees in Houston which means Thanksgiving is here.

"Meh" day. Distracted and ineffective at work, and didn't have much energy in the gym. Did what I could, several rounds of 1-leg jump squats and some dumb DB boxing thing I made up on the fly. Just wanted to move around and pretend to beat the crap out of something, I guess.
And that's one advantage of a small company gym with nobody else in it! Not that I wouldn't have blended in just fine at the Y, come to think of it.
Think I'm just drama-jaded. All kinds of emotional crap going on with my family (not wife and kids) and our church. You know that feeling when you're fed up with a group of people, and just want to tell them to start acting like adults or else you'll give 'em the finger and walk away forever? I'm pretty much there.
I don't stay there long. I'll be back to normal tomorrow.
