Alright, here are the final stats after the 11 day "cleanse" program...
Weight: 180 - 168 -12
total inches: 15.25!

Well, I feel great and up until my BF's brother came in eating a grilled piece of french bread loaded with mozz cheese and tom last night..I didn't feel deprived or really all that hungry!

Trying out Trader Joe's greek style yogurt with honey now....not sure bout the texture but its the perfect sweet!

Going for a cut and color in about 15 minutes to reward myself for having the will power during the past 11 days...then off to trader Joe's (i'm sooooo addicted) for lots o' fruits and veggies! No need for zucchini tough; my mom brought over the largest zucchini I've ever seen from her garden. Seriously, it won't fit in the crisper...

Good job on sticking it out--I hope the results last for you. That's a great idea about rewarding yourself with a trip to the salon (much better than a food reward...). Pretty soon you'll have to be rewarding yourself with a new wardrobe!

About that zucchini--I have several of those huge ones that need shredded and frozen..better do it today before I go out of town.

Congrats on finishing the cleanse and your fabulous results! That's awesome! You definitely deserve a reward!

I know what you mean about Trader Joe's - I LOVE that store! I've actually sworn to never live anywhere I can't find a TJs close by

Glad to hear your first day went well. What time do you have to get up to work out before work? (At least that's what I assume you're doing since you're so tired after starting.)

By the way, if you're still looking for something to use for your group of girls (you had asked about the Mother Daughter Dates and I know it's a Christian book which might not be appropriate for all situations)--I recently found something similar from American Girl that looked good.
I just thought of it and don't have the name but I can look it up if you want...

Today: steady state walking at 70% of MHR 45' and recovery (man, my hamstrings were killing me on the hills today!)
Cals: 1504
35 P
43 carbs
23 fat

I was about 70 cals over today....I'll take it

Celeste: If I work out in the am, I'm out the house by 5:15. I have to be at work by 7:35, but I prefer to be there by 7:15 so I can fully settle and organize before the kiddies come in 7:45. I will look for that book from American Girl. Thanks for the info.... I always wanted an American Girl Doll...

BF finally goes in for knee surgery tomorrow...he apparently broke a small piece of his tibia last summer playing frisbee.. just got insurance so he can finally get the surgery..he can't wait to get back to his workouts (NROL). He has been very depressed about not really being able to wo and has gained some weight...It'll be nice to wo together gain...Recovery should be about a week so back to workouts in about a month we're estimating

Looks like you're doing good!
70 calories is not a big deal, esp. if you just go light a day or two to make up for it.

I don't have a TJ's nearby, but I get Oikos greek yogurt from Whole Foods (plain, fat free). I generally flavor it myself w/ some jam, fruit (blueberries right now), some kashi go lean crunch (yum!) and some vanilla protein powder mixed in. I actually hate yogurt (or any type) if there's nothing crunchy in it.

Hope BF's knee surgery goes well - my hubby would be milking that for weeks if he had surgery done!

I am the same. have to have something in it, not plain, blech. I love to put some nature Path Granola in it, it is only 150 cal per 1/2 cup. Not bad for granola.

hey shell - i just finished reading "passing for thin" and i really liked it. i haven't been heavy my whole life, just since i got married (but that was in 85 and it seems like my whole life!!), but i could really identify with her difficulty seeing herself as a pretty girl and her issues with make-up and manicures.

i noticed that shape magazine mentioned a book that sounds similar called "half-assed: a weight loss memoir" by jennette fulda. unfortunately, my library system doesn't have it. amazon does tho.

and i love sweet potato fries, just not cold. ick!

Def NOT pregnant!!! They were gross.... over it now...back on track with 50 minutes SS cardio and cals at 1530 with 36 p, 18 f, 46 carbs... macros are a bit off but its an improvement

Karen, I'm glad you enjoyed the book! I found it to be so inspiring and encouraging...it's actually time to take another trip to the library!

Thanks for stopping by! Lookin good in here

I love me some greek yogurt! Seriously...I buy the big containers of Fage at either TJ's or Whole Foods and if I don't have time to pack my usual lunch I will eat the whole thing for lunch. Its an expensive habit.

Why why why is it so damn hard to get back into a routine? BLuh Eats have been ok but totally slacking on workout end...I did get up this am and did that 30 minute women's health DVD...eats were good and waiting for my uncle from San Fran to get here so I can go eat dinner.... (I only get to see him like once a year; he's here for my cousin's Bar MitVah)...
I guess I don't have too much to report...I've been pretty good about recording all food that I ingest. I just really need to get back into a routine of working out consistently. I think I'm going to follow the deficit recs from opt and do three strength and three cardio sessions a week. I know that something is better than nothing but I still have this block that if I can't do 40 minutes of SS cardio then I blew it (the program) and do nothing. STUPID STUPID STUPID
So, I did that work out this am, I'm gonna do Tae-bo tomorrow (I feel like I need a Billy Blanks ass whooping) and then some moderate cardio Friday and strength on Sat with a rest day Sunday..... I will then plan for the week and STICK to it!!!! Things at wok are settling down so I should be fine sticking to the ME PROJECT (As I'm naming it). I've maintained at 170, so, I would like to be at 168 next Friday. This is totally doable....
Sorry for the novel

First - stop calling yourself names - it won't help (believe me, I've tried it!)

We all have notions about what a "real" workout is -- and it takes a lot of learning and practice and trial and error to get past that... Cardio does NOT require 40 minutes SS to "count" or be real... One major thing I got from Leigh is that NEAT matters, and cardio doesn't have to be killer drenching sweat to count or be useful...

Hang in there

Thanks Bysti!!! I'm feeling much better today!!! Looking forward to making my turkey balls and some flax pasta tonight.... unfortunately, my Tae BO tape has died (RIP) so I went for a lovely brisk two mile walk this morning...I love walking in the am and seeing the sun come up.

Ok, here I am! i've been such a slacker with logging...but I'm down a pound this week to 169....Feeling very unstressed and happy and this is good! I've been eating in a deficit and walking every afternoon (trying to enjoy the last of our warm weather!) I did have 4 mini milky way bites (dark chocolate) this afternoon....soooo yummy. Going to go with the flow this weekend and then buckle down for the next week and a half till weigh in...Get it done! So, I'm so glad everyone is doing well and trying to stick to the pound a week, but I really needed to focus on emotional balance...now I can throw myself back in!

Shell, where are you?! I don't want to assume you've "fallen off the wagon",maybe you're just really busy, but just in case, I know how hard it is to get back into a routine. Keep trying! You CAN do it (and in case you're like me and hate to admit your failures to this great group of disciplined ladies, I've come to find that they're encouraging even when you're not doing so hot...) Check in sometime, okay?
